The Parasitic Slime
I asked just to see how she would react. “Well then, are you ready, Lady Kaira?”
But no answer came from her. Only animalistic moans spilled out.
“Huuu… huuhe…? Ahaa♡ He, ehe… eugh, huk, he… heeek……”
My words clearly hadn’t reached her. Of course they hadn’t. I had broken her that thoroughly on purpose. The pleasure signals generated in a human brain after ingesting the lovely drug invented by the Duchess of Mittenburg were more than enough to crush the careful, intelligent mind of a wizard who had lived through two lifetimes.
I sent another wave of those signals through her.
“Kahak!?!? Ngh, uuheek?! Hahet♡ Ah, ahng…… Nghut?!! Hooohooooooook?!!?”
Kaira’s waist arched violently. Because our nerves were connected, her movements felt like my own. She spread her limbs like a frog, fingers and toes twitching wildly, tongue lolling out as she let out screams that were closer to monstrous shrieks than coquettish cries.
For a while, I toyed with her brain the way one might play with a toy. On top of the Duchess of Mittenburg’s drug, I added signals of ordinary sexual pleasure and unbearable tickling sensations.
Kaira would burst into manic laughter as if she were suffocating, then suddenly slam her fists against the ground and weep. There was nothing strange about it. I had injected the signals precisely so she would do those things. I needed to confirm just how completely I could dominate this body.
Eventually Kaira’s strength gave out. Her body went limp, her expression vacant.
Her face—which had once been pretty, deceptively youthful, and even carried an air of innocence—had collapsed so thoroughly that no trace of the vitality from just a few hours ago remained.
Drenched in sweat, tears, drool, and nosebleed, Kaira’s face was pickled in a pleasure no sane mind could ever attain. Her expression was so wretched that anyone who saw it would shudder and flee on the spot.
‘Then, Lady Kaira, do you understand what I want now? I left just enough reason for you to answer, so please do.’
“Don’t know… don’t… hyaa…… That kind of… thing……”
I laughed at her.
‘I see. You’ve become nothing but a stupid female animal, so of course you wouldn’t know.’
“Th-that’s not… it… dyaha…… Over there♡ The good-feeling thing… yeah? The good… feeling… huhyat…♡ Do… do the good one…… More… more…… Give me more……”
She could barely string words together, hiccupping pathetically as she begged like an idiot. I rejected her request outright.
‘No. Generating those signals consumes quite a bit of energy.’
“Th-that’s… no… I don’t like it…… Do it, do it for me…… Yeah? Anything… anything at all…. Ye-yes♡ I’ll do anything… anything you want…… Kaira is… a whore… after all……”
‘You’ll really do anything?’
Behind my mocking question lay an implication she couldn’t grasp. Kaira panted like a dog and answered.
“Yes, yeees!! Kaira… Kaira will…… Ehehehe… anything… anything at all……”
‘Understood, then.’
I violently manipulated the pseudopods that had been intricately tangled inside Kaira’s brain, seizing and analyzing every single neural signal. I left only a few strands connected to the pleasure center so I could still send the drug signals from Zophy.
“Hu-giik…?”
I could read Kaira’s confused mind. Suddenly her vision warped, her limbs trembled uncontrollably, then began flailing wildly through the air. Her toes curled tight against her will, and her head shook violently from side to side.
From Kaira’s bewildered face, various fluids poured out uncontrollably. From every orifice except her ears, tears, snot, and saliva overflowed. After all, I had stripped away every right she once had to control those secretions.
“Ugeeeet… e……? Haauk… ut… ugeut……? Huhe…? Ah……? E…….”
And then I finished the analysis. I had analyzed every piece of information her brain contained.
From the pseudopods roughly stirring the area around her frontal lobe, I secreted a fluid that digested proteins and fats. Kaira’s brain, her memories, her reason—every part that made her human—slowly melted and was absorbed into my body. Nothing more than simple nutrients devoid of any intellect or data.
I had left the parts necessary for basic life functions intact, and I had already copied all the digested information. That was why I could connect directly to her brain and act as if nothing had changed. But she was most certainly dying.
“Huhek… u, euu…… Et…… At…♡ Ah……”
I wondered what it felt like to have the organ where one’s soul gathered devoured from the inside. So that Kaira wouldn’t feel any pain in her final moments, I sent her one last dose of the drug signal.
“Hugieeeek?!! Ah, ehehet…… Ahhat, ahahahaha…… Daddy, da… ddy…… Daddy, daddy… daddy daddy… I’m… sorry…… Het♡ Ah… uuu… uut…… E……? E…… Ah. Hehehehehe……”
‘No… this… kind of thing……’
Hm?
A thought from Kaira flowed in—one I thought I had completely shattered. I had damaged her mind severely, but it seemed she still retained just enough reason to form a final dying thought. Her willpower was impressive, managing to struggle this much even as her brain was nearly fully digested. But this was the end.
‘Disappearing… like this… I… don’t want…… ……’
That was Kaira’s final thought. The time-rewinding witch whose mind I had stolen was annihilated. After that last pitiful convulsion of consciousness, no further signals came from her frontal lobe.
I extended my pseudopods, created fake nerves, and filled the inside of Kaira’s skull. Immediately, the drooling, giggling expression on her face froze.
‘Ah. So this is how you make expressions.’
I practiced for a moment, then stood up. I had to control my newly acquired body and greet Lord Naixon.
“Hehe. Then please come again. I was so happy you held me last night, mister♡”
I sent off today’s final source of income—no, customer—with a seductive smile. The light of dawn was already creeping through the gaps in the wooden shutters.
To Kaira, the customers had simply been wallets that paid her while she searched for her real mother. But to me, they were far more precious. They were beings from whom I could learn human behavior and obtain genetic information—more valuable than the guests Kaira had received. I could not treat them carelessly.
I changed into my outdoor clothes and went downstairs.
“Hey, Karin. Heading out again today?”
“Yes. Sorry for always leaving during the day, Alber.”
“Nah, it’s fine. Daytime’s basically your rest period, so I don’t mind… but you should still get proper sleep. You’ll ruin your health like that.”
“Ufut, thank you for worrying about me.”
I gave Alber a playful wink and left the shop. Today, too, I had to head to the mansion of my creator, Lord Naixon.
It was true that Kaira’s pretty face and her deceptively young, adorable appearance made living in disguise much easier. Most men treated her kindly, so there was no need to invite unnecessary hostility.
That was why I had continued living inside her shell, having devoured only her brain… but that ended today.
Lord Naixon greeted me warmly as always and led me to the laboratory.
“I see. So you’ve grown fully accustomed to Karin’s body. Then you truly intend to… do it?”
“Yes, Lord Naixon. I have become familiar with Lady Karin’s appearance, way of thinking, how she moves her body—everything. Maintaining the life of this empty shell is becoming increasingly difficult.”
“Very well. The pen and paper for recording are ready. Proceed.”
Lord Naixon pulled up a chair and sat at the table. I extended a few pseudopods just past Kaira’s ears and released eye-shaped split bodies so I could observe the digestion process. Then I began what I had to do.
Digestive fluid poured from every pseudopod that had permeated the entire interior of Kaira’s skull, every organ in her body, and even the tips of her finest blood vessels.
Kaira’s small body began to melt and grow translucent. Although she had lost nearly all of her cerebrum and could no longer think like a human, I had left pseudopods embedded in the remaining brain and nervous system to keep her barely alive. This was the moment she truly died.
The enzymes secreted from the microscopic tentacles piercing her entire body—enzymes that dissolved proteins and fats into an absorbable form—melted every single cell throughout Kaira. Her whole body gradually turned transparent, and chunks of flesh began to drip downward.
I had no nose, but through the chemical receptors covering my entire body, a strange sensation reached me.
‘This is…… Ah… so this is it.’
I understood without needing to think.
‘The fragrant… scent of freshly baked bread……’
“Ooh……”
Lord Naixon let out a gasp mixed with pure admiration.
“I created it myself, yet this is truly… truly a wondrous sight. A slime devouring a human… to think I would be able to witness such a precious scene, and that an intelligent slime would kindly demonstrate it for me……”
I moved my vocal cords, which were on the verge of melting away, and answered in a voice thick with phlegm.
“Th-thank… you… for the… pr- praise… Creator… sir……”
It wasn’t enough to simply digest Kaira’s flesh. I focused all my mind on metabolizing the digested matter into my own protoplasm.
The substances that had once been her flesh, blood, and organs were metabolized one by one, transforming into soft yet elastic gel-like cell masses. Into my body. In that material—which was nothing more than the transparent main body of a slime—there remained not a single trace of the human girl she had been.
‘Whoops……’
In the brief moment my concentration wavered, the body that had barely been standing upright—the silhouette that had been Kaira—collapsed pathetically. Where Kaira had stood, there was now only a translucent mass of protoplasm roughly equal in volume to her. Only me.
Pressed flat by its own weight into the shape of a slightly squashed steamed bun, inside my transparent body floated Kaira’s final traces in this world—her bones, picked completely clean of every scrap of flesh by my digestive fluids, drifting eerily.
Lord Naixon shed tears as he marveled.
“Aah… Beautiful. Truly beautiful. Since you have been reborn from Karin, may I call you ‘Rin’?”
I quickly extended one pseudopod, formed a mouth and vocal cords within it, and answered in Kaira’s voice.
“Thank you, Master! Giving me a name… I’m so happy… so very happy!”
“Hoho. Yes, you really are adorable.”
I considered dissolving Kaira’s bones entirely, but changed my mind. Since I now had a good framework to maintain a human shape, it would be better to layer my protoplasm over these bones when I mimicked her form.
I moved Kaira’s bones one by one and carefully reassembled them—from the skull that belonged at the very top to the toe bones that needed to be precisely arranged at the bottom. Once the rearrangement was complete, I poured all my strength into mimicking her.
The world spun. It was a sensation I had never felt before—not borrowing a human body, but perfectly imitating one and viewing the world through it. As I reconstructed the mimicked nerves, Kaira’s knowledge, memories, and personality swirled inside me.
When the reconstruction of the body was nearly finished, I looked at Lord Naixon with anxious eyes, worried I might have mimicked her incorrectly.
“By the gods……”
Lord Naixon wore an expression of genuine awe.
“It’s… it’s truly identical. You……”
The tip of Lord Naixon’s pen trembled. He seemed unable to record anything more. The creator remained like that for a long while before suddenly standing and walking toward me.
“Lord Naixon?”
And then he embraced my human-shaped mimicry, which was just as small as Kaira had been.
“You… are my greatest invention. No… you are not merely an invention or a work. You are my most precious daughter, Rin.”
Even though I looked completely human, I stretched out arms that were slightly damper and more elastic than human skin and hugged Lord Naixon tightly.
“Thank you. For creating me. Thank you, Creator… Thank you, Father……”
The moment the word “father” left my mouth, the memories of Kaira that formed most of my personality shook violently. I could not understand why her memories trembled so fiercely.
“See!! I knew you were having delusions about turning me into the villain!!”
Rin, who had embedded a thin pseudopod in my mind, grumbled as if she were truly angry. I soothed my daughter.
“…It’s just a fake story born from my self-destructive urges, a possibility that might have existed in a parallel world, nothing more than a ‘what if’ scenario. Why are you getting so upset?”
“Whether it’s a delusion or a novel, if I come out as the villain I get mad!! Hmph. If you really want to be treated like that, I could devour your real mother right now!”
I hugged my adorable daughter tightly. Rin—whose height was even smaller than mine, which was already like a child’s—had her mimicked human head completely buried between my breasts.
“Hahup……”
“There’s still a lot of the recollection left. Help me purge the next delusion too.”
