Kwon Siyoung paused with her fork partway through twirling the aglio e olio pasta.
"Seah? She seems pretty busy lately, in her own way."
"The one who said she was resting at home because she was sick?"
"Well, I don’t know everything. You know Eunbyul Lee, right? The chief of staff... that capable woman who’s close with Aunt?"
Kwon Hajung, Siyoung’s mother and Seah’s aunt, thought for a moment and nodded.
"Of course I know her. She’s helped me too."
"She said she’s working on something with that woman... Ah! Right, the thing Seah brought back from China. The doll-selling and café-opening stuff, that. I guess she’s been busy because of that."
"Is that so? Blood really is blood, I suppose."
Kwon Hajung gave a wry smile.
"The girl must be having a hard time, but it seems she’s still doing the things her mother loved."
"When I bought her a gift the other day, she looked really worn out, but lately she seems fine again."
"Good. You should keep an eye on her."
Siyoung snorted softly and moved her fork again.
"How hard must it be? This is when family and relatives help each other out."
"All right, all right. I’ll take good care of her."
After answering with perfect certainty, Siyoung paused with her fork.
"But there’s something a little odd lately."
"Why? What’s odd about it?"
"It’s nothing major, but... she used to meet me once a month to go shopping for clothes."
As soon as Hajung heard the word clothes, she let out a snort of laughter.
"Yes, that shopping nearly drove your mother insane."
"Hey, why are you saying that? Come on! I’m good at it now! Do you know how many influencers are lining up just to wear the clothes I make?!"
Siyoung shouted, then coughed once to clear her throat.
"Anyway! I think she’s changed her mind a little. It’s not like she’s trying to keep her distance or anything. But she hasn’t once said she wants to go clothes shopping."
From Siyoung’s point of view, it was a suspiciously strange thing indeed, but Seah had no way of understanding any of it.

People aren’t interested in anything that doesn’t pay off.
The reason people went wild for Clan Wars, the crown jewel of PVE content, and threw themselves into it so enthusiastically was because of the rewards.
"All right, then. Shall we see what kind of rewards we got?"
I had a vague idea already, but I hadn’t looked too closely so I could preserve the suspense.
Besides, some of the rewards were hidden behind mosaics and silhouettes anyway, so even if I’d wanted to know, I couldn’t have.

The first rewards that caught my eye, as expected, were the jade and the Clan War Coins.
Five thousand jade meant about thirty character pulls.
In cash terms, that wasn’t even ten million won, and considering that ranking first practically required having a +6 character...

This was the character I had to buy the moment I had enough coins.
Her performance was absurdly simple: with one tap, she filled up the entire party’s ultimate gauges, so honestly, she looked useful everywhere.

I used up all 5,000 Clan War Coins on Iienes, but that didn’t matter.
I’d just obtained a character that never comes out of pulls, one that ordinary players wouldn’t be able to buy until the Clan War after next, if even then!
She wasn’t quite short enough to become my ultimate favorite, but there was something about her that made me want to tease her, and I loved that.

Arcana was another type of equipment characters could wear.
Head, chest, gloves, legs, necklace, ring.
You had to farm all six types, and there were multiple grades, but only items of 5-star grade were actually usable.
Anything below that was so much worse than 4-star gear that it was basically just filler equipment you passed by on the way.

The first-place Clan War rewards were more generous than I’d expected.
Even apart from its effect, The Return of Spring Weather had atmosphere too, since it turned the final scene of a touching story into a sculpture.
