The Villainesses Who Raised Their Children Are Obsessed
I wanted to give happiness to the villainesses who would drag the empire down the path of destruction. So I adopted them after they had become slaves.
(The cover features Charlotte!)
The first time I laid eyes on her, she was nothing more than a broken doll.
Chained in the slave market’s deepest corner, purple hair matted with filth, cat ears drooping lifelessly. A tail that looked as if it had been stepped on repeatedly. Even so, the fire in her golden eyes had not gone out.
Charlotte.
The ‘Mad Cat’ who would one day become an S-rank adventurer and single-handedly burn half the imperial capital to the ground. The woman who would stand at the forefront of the villainesses and plunge the empire into chaos.
Right now, she was only a B-rank beastman adventurer who had been captured after losing a duel. A pitiful slave whose spirit had been crushed but whose pride still refused to die.
I approached the slave trader without hesitation.
“How much?”
“Young master, that one’s defective goods. She bit three handlers yesterday alone. If you want a pet, I can recommend far gentler—”
“I asked how much.”
The trader swallowed hard at my cold tone. After a moment’s calculation, he named an exorbitant price. I paid it without bargaining.
When the chains were removed, Charlotte glared at me with bloodshot eyes. Her voice came out hoarse, as if she had screamed for days.
“If you think you can tame me… you’ll regret it.”
I smiled softly and held out my hand.
“I don’t want to tame you. I want to raise you.”
Her cat ears twitched. For the first time, a crack appeared in that murderous gaze.
That was how it began.
The story of me, Luizen, who gathered the villainesses destined to destroy the empire and raised them with love and care.
And the story of how those same villainesses, once they grew up, became completely obsessed with me.
"System, display status."
⟨ Character Window ⟩
Name: Charlotte
Age: 17
Race: Beastman (Cat-type)
Current Affection: 35 (Curious / Slightly Flustered)
Special Note: Currently experiencing her first heat cycle due to developing feelings for her new guardian, Luizen. Extremely embarrassed. Hiding it poorly.
I quietly closed the window only I could see.
Charlotte, who had been pretending to nap on the sofa across from me, suddenly jerked upright. Her face was flushed bright red all the way to her ears. The tail that had been swaying lazily was now puffed up like a bottle brush.
“W-why are you staring at me like that…!”
Her warrior-like tone had completely collapsed. The once-fearsome ‘Mad Cat’ was now a flustered kitten who couldn’t even look me in the eye.
I smiled gently and set down the book I’d been reading.
“You seem feverish. Are you feeling unwell?”
“I-I’m perfectly fine! This is… this is just… the aftereffect of the duel! Yes, that’s it!”
She was speaking in broken sentences. Her cat ears were flattened against her head in embarrassment. I could see her thighs unconsciously rubbing together under the blanket.
Cute.
Of course I knew exactly what was happening. The system had already informed me. But I decided to play dumb a little longer. After all, watching the proud battle maniac get this adorably flustered was a rare treat.
“Then shall I prepare some cold water? Or would you like me to pat your head like I did when you first arrived?”
At the word “pat,” her ears shot straight up. Her golden eyes widened, and she looked at me with an expression that was half longing, half terror.
“T-that… that is… I am no longer a child who needs head pats…”
Even as she said it, her body was already leaning toward me. The tail betrayed her completely, curling around my ankle under the table.
I reached out slowly and stroked her soft purple hair.
“Good girl.”
The moment my hand touched her, a small tremor ran through her entire body. A tiny, almost inaudible sound escaped her lips.
“Nngh…”
Her face turned even redder. She buried it in the cushion, ears trembling violently.
I continued to pat her head with the same gentle rhythm I had used when she was still a frightened slave who woke up screaming from nightmares every night.
Back then, she had been a villainess who would one day set the empire ablaze.
Now she was simply my daughter. My precious child who had grown up receiving all the love I could give.
…Or at least, that was what I kept telling myself.
Because the system window that appeared before my eyes was flashing a very dangerous message.
Charlotte's obsession level has increased dramatically.
Current obsession: 72% (Dangerous)
Warning: She is beginning to view her guardian as a potential mate rather than a father figure.
I quietly sighed.
Raising villainesses was never going to be easy.
But I had no intention of stopping.
Because I knew better than anyone the tragic futures that awaited them if left alone. The pain, the despair, the endless cycle of revenge and destruction.
If becoming the object of their obsession was the price I had to pay to give them happiness…
Then I would gladly bear it.
Even if that meant dealing with a certain cat-eared girl who was currently pressing her flushed face against my thigh while purring uncontrollably.
“…Luizen.”
Her voice was small, shy, and unbearably sweet.
“Can you… pat me a little more? Just… just a bit longer…”
I smiled and ran my fingers behind her twitching ears.
“Of course. As long as you want.”
Outside the window, the empire’s sun was setting peacefully.
Yet I could already feel the dark clouds of obsession gathering on the horizon.
The villainesses I had raised with love were slowly, surely, becoming completely and utterly obsessed with me.
And this was only the beginning.
