There Was No Need for That
I stepped out of the bedroom, leaving my swooning older sister collapsed across the mattress. Having thoroughly run Yeo-eun through her paces, I could conveniently ignore the state of the soiled bedsheets—at least for the time being.
Under the spray of the shower, I took stock of my physical condition. Just as I had suspected, I didn't suffer from the post-ejaculatory exhaustion typical of ordinary men in this world. Having exerted myself so intensely, I felt slightly fatigued, but by no means spent.
Is it just that I lack raw strength?
Wiping the condensation from the mirror, I studied my reflection. It was a physique I had grown accustomed to by now. No matter how diligently I worked out, muscle refused to stick. My build remained locked in place, as if some absolute ceiling had been hardcoded into it, and my physical strength hadn't budged either.
My stamina, on the other hand, was extraordinary. It went far beyond anything reasonable, far exceeding what my past knowledge could explain.
No calluses form on my skin, I never get blemishes or acne, I barely even sweat... and I haven't caught a single cold.
Never in this lifetime had I suffered from even the most trivial illness. My eyesight was crystal-clear, my other senses razor-sharp. Even if I went days without bathing, my body gave off virtually no odor. If anything, whatever faint scent of perspiration I did produce seemed to register to women as a pleasant fragrance.
Just what was she thinking when she made this body?
Glancing down at my lower half, I saw a cock whose proportions completely defied the slender frame it was attached to. It looked almost like an ill-fitting part mistakenly installed on an undersized chassis. And true to that visual absurdity, its staying power was bordering on ridiculous. Though I had stopped because Yeo-eun passed out, I could easily have gone another few rounds.
Did she build me this way just so I could spend all day fucking women?
Drying off with a towel, I dared to wonder what the Goddess's true intentions had been. While entwined with Yeo-eun—and even now, standing in the steam—I felt more vividly alive than I ever had before. I wasn't just a hollow shell existing merely to eat, sleep, and defecate; I felt capable of genuine joy, sorrow, and anger.
Then why don't I grow body hair? Don't tell me... that's the Goddess's personal taste?
Slipping into the underwear Yeo-eun had bought me, my eyes lingered on my pale, porcelain thighs. My calves, my underarms, even the junction around my groin were identical. The only black hair anywhere on my body grew on my scalp and my eyebrows. Could this truly be what she preferred? Considering who my maker was, it was a perfectly reasonable suspicion.
Buzz.
Freshly washed and in the middle of preparing breakfast, I checked the screen. It was one of the places where I had submitted an application for a part-time job. Pulling up a map app to double-check the route, I saw that it was comfortably close to home. That worked out nicely.
“Did you get all that?”
“Yep!”
Yeo-eun was nagging me with the gravest expression she could muster. She had repeated variations of the exact same warning several times already, but I simply smiled and nodded along.
“Hehe... No! Hey! Stop smiling like that!”
“Didn't you say it was fine if it was with you, Noona?”
“Huh? Ah... Well, that's true, but...”
“Don't worry. I understood everything you said.”
Ever since yesterday morning, when things had progressed between us, she had noticeably changed. She constantly lectured me on how I needed to conduct myself outside, how I ought to dress, and how careful I had to be with my demeanor. To put it simply, she had become a nervous wreck.
“No, forget it. I'll just drive you there.”
“I can walk by myself. It isn't even far.”
“Haaah... It's just making me anxious, okay? Totally anxious. What if some crazy bitch tries to...”
“Noona.”
Her fretful scolding was bordering on excessive, but I didn't hold it against her. She was still my older sister, and she was a good person at heart. She had simply developed an aggressive instinct to overprotect me.
“You took yesterday off because of me, too. You have work to do today.”
“Well, that's... urgh.”
“Are you going to take care of me for the rest of your life?”
“Huh? Y-Yeah. If that's what you want, Jeongseo...”
“Of course not. We both need to live our own lives to the fullest. If you start neglecting your work on my account, that'll only weigh heavily on my conscience.”
Reaching out, I gently took Yeo-eun's hand. Even the most affectionate concern became stifling if dragged out for too long.
“Besides, you paid for everything yesterday. I want to be able to buy things for you too, Noona.”
“Y-You do? Hehe.”
Yesterday afternoon, she had dragged me along to a hair salon. My hair had grown too long, and I needed it trimmed before going in for any job interviews. I had originally intended to go alone, but Yeo-eun insisted on tagging along. After the salon, she claimed she needed to pick up a few essentials and brought me to a department store. Naturally, once we got there, the only shopping she did was buying clothes for me.
“Down the road, I'll be going to university, and after graduation, I'll have a career. You can't follow me around everywhere forever, can you?”
“I suppose not... You have your own life to live, after all. Sigh.”
Looking at her felt like watching a puppy suffering from separation anxiety. Even as she nodded along with my reasoning, her expression remained utterly crestfallen.
“Let's hang out again on your next day off. You spent so much money on me yesterday, so you have to work hard to earn it back.”
“You're right. I'm going to hit it big and buy you way more delicious food.”
“Right. I'll take good care of myself so you don't have to worry. Just stay home and focus on your stream.”
After shopping, we had eaten out and caught a movie together—the theatrical film for that anime she loved so much. It had been, for all intents and purposes, a proper date.
As a consequence, Yeo-eun had spent quite a bit of money. When I tried to pull out the allowance Mother had given me, she adamantly refused, insisting on paying for everything herself. She had even taken an extra day off work to spend it with me.
A relationship where one side did all the giving was inherently unhealthy. And I had no intention of letting her ruin her own livelihood because she was too infatuated with me.
“Be careful out there, alright? And if someone on the street offers to buy you something tasty—”
“Noona. Do I look like a child to you?”
“You look like... Okay, fine. I'll stop.”
Standing in the entryway, I had lost count of how many times she had tried to reiterate the same point. Crossing the line from concern into outright absurdity, she finally trailed off when I met her eyes with an unamused, deadpan gaze. It would have been better if she had stopped while I was still indulging her warmly, but at least she had the self-awareness to realize she had gone too far.
Seeing her slump into a dejected pout once more, I reached toward her again.
“Lean down for a second.”
Yeo-eun bent forward at the waist. As her heavy breasts succumbed to gravity and hung loose beneath her shirt, I casually cupped one through the fabric. Unsurprisingly, she wasn't wearing a bra today either.
“If you work hard today, I'll treat you to something nice next time.”
“Huh? Gulp... Something nice? What kind of something nice?”
“That's a secret.”
“Okay! I'll do my best. Hehe... Be careful out there, Jeongseo.”
Giving the prominent nipple beneath her shirt a gentle pinch, I framed her cheeks with both hands. It was genuinely amusing to watch her crestfallen pout instantly morph into a giddy, expectant grin. I had realized it before, but she really was an open book.
“I'm heading out, then.”
Smooch.
Pressing a brief kiss to her cheek, I slipped out the front door. Behind me, Yeo-eun waved with a flushed face and a dazed, dreamy smile.
She had sulked so hard last night when I told her she had to sleep in her own room. I had pushed her away when she tried to cling to me, explaining that I needed time to study. It seemed that lingering grudge had survived through the morning—only to melt completely beneath a single kiss.
Something completely incomprehensible had occurred.
I had memorized the route before stepping out of the house. I was positive of it.
“Are you fucking kidding me... You crazy bitch? You're still at home, aren't you?”
Cafe Dalteulak was close to home, but the distance fell into an awkward middle ground. By car, it was less than five minutes away; by bus, it was just two stops. Even if you took the bus, you still had to get off and navigate several winding alleyways on foot.
“I can hear the toilet flushing, you know! Ugh... I knew you'd pull this shit. Fuck off, I'm hanging up.”
Because of that, I had opted to walk. I left early, anticipating that it would take fifteen minutes at the absolute most. Pulling out my phone, I checked the map app once again. Truth be told, I had refreshed it half a dozen times already, but I still couldn't make heads or tails of where I was standing.
In other words: I was thoroughly lost.
“Haaah.”
Sitting on the steps of a commercial building, the woman who had just hung up her phone let out an irritated sigh and flicked a lighter to a cigarette. Dressed in comfortable sweatpants, she had a cap pulled low over her brow and wore thick-rimmed glasses. She looked like a neighborhood local.
“Excuse me.”
“Huh? Me?”
Swallowing my pride, I accepted the fact that I had lost my bearings and approached her.
“Ah, sorry about that. I'll go smoke somewhere else.”
“No, that isn't it. I was hoping I could ask for directions.”
I took another step closer. Flustered, the woman hurriedly crushed her cigarette against the concrete. I felt a pang of guilt seeing as she had only just lit it.
“Sure, absolutely! I know this entire neighborhood like the back of my hand.”
“I'm trying to get here. Which way should I head?”
“Hold on a second... Ah.”
She peered at the screen I held out, then immediately offered an explanation.
“If you just head straight down this way, you'll run into XX Bank. Once you hit that corner...”
Her directions were straightforward enough. Which only deepened my confusion. The route was simple, so why on earth had I been wandering in circles? It seemed the Male God's constraints hadn't stopped at my height and physical strength.
“Thank you very much.”
“Not at all. Safe travels!”
Thanking her, I set off once again. Feeling her gaze lingering on my back, I strode off in the direction she had pointed out.
“Wait, excuse me! Hold on a second! Hey!”
“Huh?”
“Pant... Pant... Not that way... That's the wrong way!”
I hadn't been walking for more than a minute when the woman from before came sprinting up behind me, completely breathless.
“I told you to wrap around the corner and head left at the ten o'clock angle!”
“Right. Isn't this it?”
“Uh... For starters, you walked right past XX Bank.”
“What? When?”
“Just now! Can't you see it right over there?”
I genuinely hadn't seen it. Turning around at her insistence, I found a massive bank sign staring right at me from across the sidewalk.
“Did you run all the way here just to tell me that? Thank you so much. I must have missed it completely.”
Showering her with apologies and gratitude in equal measure, I turned back toward the road. Ten o'clock direction, she had said.
“Wait, you did understand what I said, right?”
“Yes... Well, actually, no. I'm a bit confused, to be honest.”
“I don't think it's just 'a bit'!”
As I took another step, the woman hurried around to block my path once more. Evidently, I was heading the wrong way yet again. Heat crept up my neck, flushing my cheeks with humiliation.
So this is what shame feels like.
It was a sensation of disarray I had never experienced in all my past lives. I couldn't follow directions given to me just seconds ago, and I was making a complete fool of myself in front of a total stranger. This was all Yeo-eun's fault. If I hadn't slept with her, my dormant emotions wouldn't have flared up to subject me to this petty embarrassment.
“If you'd like, I can walk you there.”
“No, that would be imposing too much. I'd feel terrible.”
“My plans got pushed back anyway, so I've got time to kill. Really, don't worry about it. It's no trouble at all.”
“Still... Ah, the time.”
Directionally challenged. Completely devoid of an internal compass. In my past life, I could never fathom people who struggled with navigation. Yet in this life, I had apparently become one of them. I should have realized it back when I got lost inside the hospital.
“Then, if it isn't too much trouble, I would really appreciate the help.”
“Sure thing! Are you in a hurry?”
“I have an interview for a part-time job, and I only have ten minutes left.”
“Ah! Ten minutes is plenty. Let's pick up the pace a bit.”
“Thank you so much. I'll make sure to repay the favor.”
She was truly a kind person. Walking someone all the way to their destination when it wasn't even a short stroll was no small gesture.
“Repay me? Nah, don't mention it. I'm doing this because I want to.”
“Pardon?”
“Ah! I mean... I just really like helping people out, you know?”
As we walked, the woman rattled on about one thing after another, spanning from a casual self-introduction to her favorite video games. She seemed like the type who loved talking about herself. While I didn't particularly care about the details, I nodded and chimed in with polite reactions to keep the conversation going.
