Off to Our New Nest!
The next day, Rica-unnie's moving frenzy finally calmed down somehow.
Yesterday when we got home, all the real estate offices were closed with shutters down, so it was a total pain.
But Rica-unnie insisted she couldn't let me live in a place like this, so she looked around everywhere until she got hold of Seonhwa-unnie.
"...We were already aware of your poor living conditions, Chorok. We'd been providing Hunter Housing Welfare Benefits in place of your regular housing allowance, and we planned to notify you as soon as a spot opened up in a Hunter Welfare House in the capital area."
"I just thought it was livable enough so I didn't look elsewhere..."
Maybe 'cause I'm used to it? Looking for a new place alone felt weird, but dragging Seonhwa-unnie into it felt off too.
"I've noted both your words and the housing officer's. After looking around, I can see it's high-quality housing, so it's no wonder entry is tough."
"While we were on Jeju, a spot opened up exactly one—due to an A-rank Hunter retiring."
"Lucky timing. And Chorok-nim, you're happy with the new place, right?"
"Yessum!"
The house was super clean. Even with Deobseok-i, Rica-unnie, and Seonhwa-unnie inside, it was so spacious our voices echoed.
Apparently, you just pay management fees. Me and Rica-unnie signed right away and stamped it—feels like an amazing perk. Now I get why.
"So where we headed now? House is signed for—back to our old place?"
"Actually, I'd like to get new furniture upon moving in..."
"Ah... yeah, everything's smashed and wrecked for sure."
"The issue is I have no funds right now, so we'll need to use Chorok-nim's budget. Is that alright?"
"True, I saved it up for starting the guild anyway. I knew stuff was worn out, so let's replace it all while moving."
I thought it was livable and was fine with it... but yeah, replacing broken crap is pricey, so I was just full-positive about it.
Since we're moving anyway, it's time. Better bite the bullet and buy new.
"...Then with Chorok's input noted, we'll detour to the department store."
"Let's pick furniture to Chorok-nim's liking."
"Rica-unnie, it's your home too—tell me what you need. Let's grab it all together!"
"Hehe... thank you for your generosity."
So today is pre-move shopping day? If I get to pick, might be fun? As long as it's not clothes. Honestly.
"Frankly, this move is a huge win for you, Chorok. I was always worried about your rough setup, and now that I'm in the next building over—not same unit but close—I can help out easier."
"Eh? You too, Seonhwa-unnie? Gotta share rice cakes when we move in then. Hehe."
Just like she said, it's a total jackpot? Now I can morning-greet Seonhwa-unnie!
And it's a hunter apartment, so I'll spot other hunters all the time? Gonna be fun!
"Wrapping up appliances here... Chorok-nim, I'd like a computer. Alright?"
"I was thinking we need one too. Heard from high-school-gal that custom builds are cheaper!"
Dunno complicated part names... but that spinach-leather-jacket-uncle sells cards? Those got pricey fast—gotta buy quick.
Plus Seo-ah keeps bugging me to play Blockrox together, so a PC makes sense.
Smartphone works, but she says PC is way faster.
"My senior knows that stuff well, so I'll handle it separately."
"Very well. We'll rely on that help then."
Oh yeah, speaking of smartphones—we got new ones.
Mine and Rica-unnie's—black and white matching models?
Yuseong Shining S26 Ultra or whatever? My old one had cracked edges and lagged on NooTube—this one's blazing fast. Love it.
"Next, beds."
"Yessum!"
Yesterday sleeping on blanket over yellow linoleum—Rica-unnie seemed uncomfortable.
Heard the garden has super fluffy beds. So let's pick fluffy ones to share.
"...This way."
Seonhwa-unnie led to a ton of beds. Sign said try lying down OK.
"Chorok-nim, lie down and pick your fave."
"Yessum! Deobseok-i, Kkumteuli—tell me good or bad!"
Nod nod.Wriggly wriggly.
Of course I brought Deobseok-i and Kkumteuli today. They'll sleep with us too—better decide together.
Knew they were OK with the old place till now, so felt a bit guilty for dragging 'em.
"Hmm, this one's kinda hard."
Nod nod.Wriggly wriggly.
Deobseok-i and Kkumteuli didn't like the first bed either. Springs went twwaaang—not great for me too.
"Customer, how about this? Uses gate-sourced new material for ultimate fluffiness while supporting your back."
After trying a few meh ones, a bed store clerk recommended another.
"Plus top stretch, durability, bounce—even 80kg dropped from height is fine. Wanna jump in?"
"Jumping and flopping on the bed is allowed?"
"Yes, exactly."
I had this dream. Flopping onto a super fluffy bed.
"Lemme try!"
I whooshed onto the bed.

"Wheee! So fluffy and bouncy!"
Springs went twwaaang but no hardness. Not just fluffy—cozy support feel.
"Deobseok-i, you try jumping too!"
Deobseok-i jumped in, satisfied with the fluff and comfort—sent thumbs-up with a vine!
Kkumteuli circled an O on my wrist saying good.
"Rica-unnie, this one! Decided!"
Price tag had scary circles... but we earned plenty? Bounties galore.
Gotta spend when I wanna. No more hesitating staring at fat Jang like a cheapskate—bye to that me.
"Card for purchase. Card... SLASH!"
Wanted to do this too. Saw a cool GIF on high-school-gal ages ago—slick card swipe pose!
Did it for appliances earlier too—doesn't get old.
They called it FLAY? FLEX? Anyway, FLEX today!
"Rest of furniture decided... Chorok-nim, shopping about done."
"Hey Rica-unnie, when's the move?"
"Ordered stuff arrives at the apartment tomorrow afternoon. Tonight hotel nearby, morning grab clothes from old place."
"I'll help with that. Need hands for cleaning anyway, right?"
"Seonhwa-unnie, even that? You sure?"
"Yes. We're neighbors now—help each other. And I want to keep ties with you, Chorok."
"Really? Me too!"
Dunno details, but wants to hang with me beyond work? Means real close unnie vibes.
She's helped tons—wanna stay close forever!
"Then that's it for no—"
"Eung? Rica-unnie, said we're done?"
"Adding clothes for Chorok-nim."
"Eh? Got plenty at home?"
Clothes suddenly? Thought she knew I skip that.
"Not enough. Chorok-nim needs to groom your looks more. Invest in clothes for that."
"Agreed. So cute—need variety to enjoy. My treat."
"Oh, thanks for the kindness. And minds aligned—let's go."
"Eeeeeung!? I'm good tho?!"
...Ended up with more clothes. New wardrobe's gonna be packed.
Bear panties to strawberry ones—even undies all stocked.
Feels like I lost something precious...
"Fwaaah... so fluffy."
"Chorok-nim, sleep till dinner if you like."
"Then just a lil nap..."
Late next afternoon. Rolled into new house—now tumbling on new bed.
Move went smooth. Seonhwa-unnie, Rica-unnie, me, Deobseok-i, Kkumteuli total squad—wiped it clean, now neat and fresh.
Previous owner left it spotless—no hassle.
"Oh right, tomorrow share rice cakes with neighbors—that's Korean moving etiquette."
But hate red bean cakes. Hated 'em before too—get sweet tasty ones to share.
"Good. I'll scout nearby rice cake shops."
Rica-unnie's smartphone pro now.
True powerhouse? Smart is powerhouse too? Barely knew this morning—now better than me. Amazing.
"Great. Then real quick nap..."
Droopy eyes closing, hugging Deobseok-i—about to snooze.
—Get lost! I... said I'm done! Never call again!
"Hoek!"
But right as I dozed, wall thumps—angry yell from next door.
"Awake now...? Didn't expect such shouting. Thought this place had good soundproofing—maybe complain?"
"Sounds super pissed—check it out?"
"Yes. A little protest needed."
That voice bugs me. Sounds familiar?
—Ding dong!
"Anyone home?"
I trailed behind Rica-unnie to next door. Hope no one's mad we said something?
—Clack!
Door flies open rough. Someone pops out.
"Who're y— wait, Chorok?!"
"Eung? Jihye-unnie?"
