Chapter 35

Chapter: 35
Chapter Title: Supporter
-----------------------------------------------------------------
"Ah, welcome. I've been waiting for you."
"Greetings to the new Baron Jerico. So, what brings you here?"
"You're Max, companion of the Blessed Sinclair, right?"
"...That's right."
Baron Jerico's territory.
Even after several months, Yuben Jerico had yet to return to his domain.
The slaves he'd taken with him vanished, and so did the soldiers.
In the end, he couldn't avoid being declared dead.
By his will, his vassal Lenggli inherited his castle and title.
"I have something to pass along to Sir Sinclair. I'd be grateful if you could deliver it for me, Max."
Baron Jerico handed over a notebook labeled Dreamland Notes.
Max took it and blinked.
"What's this?"
"Lord Yuben died in the dungeon. And this is the information he recorded before his death."
"What do you mean?"
Baron Jerico recounted everything that had happened so far.
A new dungeon called Dreamland had appeared in the Forest of Life.
Yuben had headed there and never returned.
"He probably lost his life during the attempt."
"Why give this to me—or rather, to Sinclair...?"
"It's not quite revenge—I'm not that emotional a person. Let's just say it's to build a good rapport with Sir Sinclair. Revenge is just a bonus. Need any escape scrolls, by the way? I've still got two left. I'll let them go cheap."
Max stared at the notes Yuben had written.

Dreamland Notes
Dreamland is structured so basically no combat is needed.
No magic required, no sword skills needed. Feels like you could bring regular civilians?
New dungeon, but maybe they paid up to max out lethality?
Need to think differently from normal dungeons.
Obstacles and such can't be detected by detection magic.
Only use detection magic to check layout.
Impossible to destroy by default... Can't break them at all.
But seems like there are set rules... That's the dungeon's gimmick.
Detection shows two zones total.
Entrance is pretty long... 6 hours to the mechanism...
Dungeon Master's twisted tastes...
I like the empty white corridors.
Minimalism taken to extremes.
Haven't encountered the Dungeon Master yet.
New dungeon, so probably not too strong.
Just in case, treating it like average soldier level...
Entrance
There's a mechanism.
Suspected teleport device. Probably use it to go to the next zone?
Only one rider capacity.
Two or more = death. Even a Swordmaster can't react. Instant kill.
Unlit corridors are a fake-out.
Never go there...
Probably monsters, but no sense you can catch them.
Bug-human sometimes boards.
Talk to it = death.
Provoke it = death.
Stay still = probably fine.
Buttons for floor changes.
This is probably the hint to the next zone.
Elevator moves up to 3 times, then returns to floor 1.
Feels like a password input?
Straight Passage
Really damn long.
Feels 8x longer than the entrance.
Detection magic showed nothing.
Wide Cavity
Really damn wide.
Detection magic showed nothing.
'This is supposed to be notes?'
Max blinked.
After all he'd seen traveling with Sinclair, it was hard to take at face value.
A typical guide would look like this:
What traps and minions are in each zone.
Their traits. Combat methods accordingly.
Required items.
Recommended personnel: such-and-such school mages, dexterous types.
'Well, not entirely wrong, but...'
Don't go into unlit corridors.
Bug-humans sometimes board; input password.
'Normal guides I saw would say something like "this minion has strong regen, use fire" and so on.'
It felt strangely unfamiliar as a guide.
But given how seriously the baron spoke, it wasn't fake.
"Got it for now. I'll buy up the remaining scrolls. My condolences to the departed."
"Yes. Please."
.
.
.
Max stared blankly at the notes.
'In the end, I missed the timing to mention it.'
The new Baron Jerico had asked him to deliver this to Sinclair.
Unfortunately, Max was no longer part of Sinclair's party.
Commonly called cutting losses.
To sum it up briefly: Max was hot-tempered, bad personality, caused a lot of incidents.
Always treated as the troublemaker in the party.
Even through big and small conflicts, Sinclair always kept Max around.
Despite the gripes, the guy's skills were top-notch.
His potential outstripped the other party members by far.
But.
When Max botched years of effort on the Maharauraba,
Sinclair couldn't hold back his rage and dumped him on the spot.
Max himself saw it differently from Sinclair, but anyway.
After they split, all ties with Sinclair were severed.
No reason to hand this over to the guy when he wasn't even a party member anymore.
'New dungeon, huh. Shall I give it a shot?'
Max clenched and unclenched his fist.
He had nothing better to do anyway.
And so, to Dreamland,
he began gathering supplies and recruits.
This is an old post.

Title: Traits of the Blessed's Lackeys (Long post, TL;DR warning)
Author: Yongyonggari
Any DM who's survived this long has met at least one Blessed, right? The world's cold, but if you haven't met one despite that, go rip magic stones out of a dungeon—I'm jealous as hell...
Anyway, as you all know, the Blessed basically look human lol. But does that mean they get treated like humans? Feels like... no?
What, treating guys who respawn like humans would be ridiculous lololol
They revive at Oblivion Temples scattered across the continent... Honestly, if I were human, I'd be like "wtf?" and not treat them as kin...
But fact is, among the three great races, humans show the most favor to the Blessed.
In the North Kingdom, they're treated like divine messengers from the gods.
Anyway, our greatest natural predator is the Blessed.
If those bastards swarmed us in groups and ganged up, we wouldn't exist in this world... Luckily, Oblivion isn't that heartless lol
One Blessed per wave—that's the limit on entry.
Time has proven this is an absolute rule.
Anyone faced two Blessed at once? Comment if you have, I'll correct myself lol
For the reasons above, only one Blessed per dungeon entry.
So the rest of the party is naturally non-Blessed.
The Blessed get levels from smashing our traps and minions we worked hard on.
But the others? Not so much.
Well, killing us for magic stones solves that, sure.
But that's not as easy as it sounds, right?
Any surviving DM is basically a veteran...
Getting magic stones is like plucking stars from the sky—most times they leave empty-handed.
And the Blessed's lackeys? Unlike the Blessed, they die for good.
So why the hell do these lackeys follow the Blessed around calling themselves "supporters"?
I was so damn curious I dug into it???
And I got some truly shocking intel...
The Blessed bastards can raise their lackeys through the system just like us...
Not just stat boosts, but even rare traits... The party members stick to the Blessed like glue, kissing ass for those stat ups and traits...
ㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷ
ㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷㄷ
You already knew?
Whatever lol
But where'd you get such high-level info??
Obviously from interrogation.
.

.
.
.
Lately, I've been enjoying reading old posts.
Even from Dungeon Masters I've never met, scrolling through their posts feels like piecing together their life story.
One of the few small hobbies in a dungeon with zero content.
Of course, I'm still steadily shitposting in the gallery too.
Any other invaders since then?
Nope nope nope nope, none came. Honestly wish some would lol
This is my main content.
I flopped down on top of the squishy one.
"Huh?"
Surrendering to the pillowy softness, another peaceful day bantering with the veterans.
What about the EXP from that horror movie sesh with the lord outside last time?
Escape scrolls count as repel judgment, so EXP and rewards came in, but since I didn't kill them myself, maybe that's why—no personal rewards ㅠㅠ
Ah... So current level?
Just hit 60, points at 300k heh
Already? You've leveled up a ton.
Now I can proudly say I'm a full-fledged member of Dungeon Gallery.
Level's still low, but I'm sharing info and whatnot?
Naturally chatting with the veterans?
Later, I'll rope the contentless vets into some TRPG.
Using DX3 rules... Community knows the lore anyway, modern setting should be easy to pick up.
"Heh heh, exciting."
I'm a newbie Dungeon Master, but a vet at TRPG.
If someone goes "What's that, otaku?" I can channel instant guru and explain it's Tabletop Role-Playing Game for three hours straight.
[1 minute until wave...]
The alert popped up, but no tension.
Yeah. Not falling for it.
Forest of Life anyway—no one's coming.
Thought killing the lord would bring a swarm.
Hasn't happened once since.
Two months since the Yuben wave already.
But no humans, not even a mouse in my dungeon.
Maybe it'll stay quiet until the next position shift—that's my current take.
I closed my eyes.
No sleep, but I can relax.
Feels nice and drowsy.

[Wave begins.]
[Intruders entering.]
[Confirmed intruders: 4 total.]
[3 humans.]
[1 supporter.]
I bolted upright.
Felt like glimpsing text I shouldn't have seen.
"No Blessed is a relief, but..."
What's a supporter?
Suddenly wide awake.
