Prologue: The Deception of Equality
When you really thought about it, no word in existence was as full of shit as “equality.”
Some people were born already feeling the flow of ki, stacking inner energy in their dantian before they could even walk. Others received the blessing of mana and could summon roaring fireballs with a lazy flick of the wrist. A few lunatics awakened supernatural powers while choking on radiation in some post-apocalyptic wasteland. And me?
Twenty-eight years old. Republic of Korea. A completely ordinary Asian man standing 175 centimeters tall. I worked in the service industry, smiling politely while swallowing every filthy curse and tantrum customers hurled at me. Special talent? I had none. The only edges I possessed were a cheap survival instinct that turned my mouth bone-dry the instant the air felt like it was about to go to shit, and a filthy mentality forged by imagining tearing people apart tens of thousands of times in my head just to get through the day.
That was my pathetic starting line in the year 2026 on modern Earth.
