Elodie's Dream Content
"Fine. I'll let it slide this time."
"Tha...nk you?"
"Aish... hearing you talk like that is way too cute."
"You get out."
"Eep! Everyone, be careful out there."
"Stop the spam!"
I switched their broadcast to PIP mode for a moment and checked the internet community reactions.
The reactions were explosive. Normally there'd be talk about other streamers too, but right now it was only Elodie and Seoyeon.
"Whoa... Seojun. You watching the broadcast, right? They're at over 4,000 viewers right now."
"Of course. I knew Elodie's sparky personality would fit right in."
Word was spreading fast, and people were flooding into Seoyeon's stream to see the comet that had appeared.
"This won't do. Seojun, I'll be right back."
The news must have spread that they hit viewers, because the broadcast energy shot even higher.
"Wow. Elodie, people are watching us."
" people?! I can't even count that high on my fingers."
"With this momentum... you got a talent bit?"
"Talent... I can mimic anime characters."
Elodie took a deep breath and said,
" viewers just left!"
She screamed at that.
"No no no Seoyeon unni I'm sorry I'm sorry! Korean Number One. I love you, relay girls!"
"Can't be helped. Watch me do my thing."
Seoyeon started an awkward a cappella dance. The viewer count dropped to in response.
"How was it?"
"I think we're in trouble."
She checked the viewer count and screamed like the sky was falling.
"Aaaagh! It's dropped all the way to !"
Just then, a knock came at the door followed by Yejin's voice. She'd gone — she had been making coffee.
"You two doing okay with the broadcast? Have a cup of coffee each. And while you're at it, stop by my stream too, please."
"Don't try to steal my viewers."
"Haha. We gotta help each other out."
She handed Seoyeon and Elodie disposable coffee cups.
"Hmm. Not bad."
"Elodie, how is it?"
"Sluuurp..."
She took a sip with both hands, then blinked her eyes rapidly.
"It's good. Sweeet..."
"Eek! So damn cute. Everyone, look at this."
Coffee foam had stuck to her upper lip, unintentionally giving her a foam mustache.
"Ah, so cute. Stay like that for a second."
"Heheh."
It came out pretty enough to be called a life picture. I needed to take a photo. I screenshot the broadcast screen.
"The coffee's sweeet... so good."
"You came at the right time, Kim Yejin. Right now our viewer count is..."
She stared at the count, then corrected herself.
"It recovered to and now it's — come on and do a talent bit."
"A-a talent bit?"
"...Woof, woof! Grrrrr..."
"Whoa. She really is a dog..."
"Kyahaha. Yejin unni is so cute!"
Surprisingly, the viewer reaction to her was the best out of the three, and the count held steady to some degree.
The three of them had done a short, roughly two-hour broadcast. As they headed to the studio with the CEO, Elodie was staring wide-eyed at the ID she had created, as if mesmerized.
"I remember being like that too. That era when you first make an ID and your heart races."
"When ajumma here did her first stream... must've been the IMF era, huh."
"How far back are you taking me! I'm not that old!"
Just then, Elodie stood up and started looking at the four of us.
"So from now on, I'll be starting my stream with this ID?"
"Yeah. You heard from our manager, right? A studio will be set up soon too."
Elodie swallowed once and spoke with a determined expression.
"Speaking of studios... there's a piece of content I want to try!"
"What is it?"
She opened her eyes wide and answered.
"Eating spicy buldak cup ramen...!"
Of course. I didn't have to ask — I knew she'd go for the patriotism coin. Exactly what you'd expect from someone who came to Korea because she loves it. Though with buldak, it's so spicy I'm worried it might hurt her health.
"That's going to be really spicy. Are you sure? Korea has plenty of other food too."
"Heheh. Manager oppa, don't worry. I eat. I eat kimchi well too, you know?"
Is she really gonna be okay?
"You're getting the mild cup ramen, right?"
"Don't listen to Seoyeon, Elodie."
Just in case, I made sure to lay down the law.
"You eat one or two bites, and if it's too spicy, stop immediately."
"Yes. Speaking of which, Manager oppa! Come to the convenience store with me. I'm nervous going alone."
"Can't be helped."
A convenience store date with a silver-haired cutie? No way I'm passing that up.
"Look at Seojun getting excited."
"Anything you want to eat? I'll go buy it with Elodie."
"Wait. I'm going too."
"Uh... well. hmm. I'll go then too."
Somehow a convenience store date had started. The result of everyone latching on saying they wanted to come along — a three-girls-one-guy convenience store date at the convenience store had begun.
"CEO too...?"
"No. I need to set up Elodie's studio. Use this card to pay, our manager."
Gratefully, the CEO provided a card.
"Thank you."
"Wow. CEO, we'll eat well. Tell us whenever you want coffee."
"Then I'll work on drawing up the estimate."
"Should we buy something for ajumma too?"
I stared at Seoyeon for a moment, then shifted my gaze to Yejin.
"Sure. Yejin can pick for her."
"What's that supposed to mean!"
It was the same convenience store I always went to, but the experience of going surrounded by girls felt completely different. Just looking at them made me feel full and content.
Inside the convenience store. Seoyeon kept glancing between the hot bar and me.
"Hmm... I think the manager is more."
"What are you imagining this time?"
"N-nothing at all!"
Elodie and Yejin brought cup ramen and showed it to me.
"Manager oppa! Is this it? Buldak cup ramen."
"Wow... the design alone is pitch black and flaming like a torch. You sure about this?"
"I've always been kind of a flaming woman, so it's fine."
Her laughter left me speechless. Still, just in case, I handed her several slices of cheese.
"It'll taste better with cheese added. Makes it less spicy too. Let's buy some just in case."
"Okay."
It seemed everyone had picked what they wanted, so I glanced at Seoyeon again. She was still fiddling with the hot bar.
"Seoyeon unni going to buy a hot bar?"
"N-no. Umm... yeah."
Just then, Elodie lingered in front of the triangle kimbap section. Whether she was checking my reaction or not, she didn't say anything — she just stared intently.
"You want one?"
"...Yep."
It'll be fine, right? The CEO isn't the type to say anything over a triangle kimbap or two.
"Since we came out with ajumma's card anyway, let's get triangle kimbap and a drink and eat one before heading back."
"Kyaa! Seoyeon unni is the best!"
"Elodie. You need to say thank you to the CEO later."
Yejin spoke like an older sister admonishing her younger sister.
"Thank you to the CEO."
"Ahaha. Not now~."
We decided to sit on the bench outside the convenience store and eat the triangle kimbap.
"Wow. It's warm, Seoyeon unnie."
"Well, I put it in the microwave. By the way, do you know how to unwrap triangle kimbap?"
She cut Elodie off before she could say something.
"No 'dunno' allowed."
"Guhk... Manager oppa knows well?"
"Yeah. I eat almost one a day."
Before I knew it, a lesson had started.
"Grab the very top part and peel it off, then unwrap the right side. Unwrap the left side — done."
"Why do you keep unwrapping things, you pervert."
"...?"
Seoyeon blurted out something completely out of left field. Everyone stared at her.
"Tch... Lee Seoyeon, you really."
"Sh-shut up. Just eat your triangle kimbap."
"What? What did she say?"
"Y-you don't need to know."
Elodie peeled her triangle kimbap just like I'd shown and took a delicious bite. Soon a sound of "Mmmm~" came out.
"Wooow... my cheeks feel like they're melting."
"Elodie picked the bulgogi triangle kimbap, right? Man... that one's good too."
Then she tilted her head and stared at my uneaten triangle kimbap.
"What? Do triangle kimbap taste different?"
"Yeah. Mine is bibimbap with gochujang. That's why it's this red color."
"Huh. That looks good."
Her expression looked like she was about to start drooling any second.
"Want a bite?"
"Uh... but it's Manager oppa's..."
"Eat it, and if you like it, you can have mine too. I don't mind."
"Sniff... I won't forget this kindness."
After one bite, she was clearly loving it. I handed her the triangle kimbap and thoroughly enjoyed watching her hold it with both hands and eat.
"Seojun really seems like a nice person."
"I'm nicer."
"..."
