Invisible Hunter's Guerrilla War
“Sergeant Kim, no matter how I look at it, this feels like utter madness.”
The moment Kim Seo-jun explained the plan, Major Lee Hye-na and Private Park Bo-seop wore expressions of sheer disbelief.
Kim Seo-jun fully understood their feelings.
“Have any of my past actions ever been what you'd call 'normal'?”
But at those words from Kim Seo-jun, the two surprisingly nodded in immediate acceptance.
“I've transferred all command authority to Sergeant Kim. We follow without question.”
Above all, they were soldiers now, and orders from the chain of command had to be obeyed, no matter what.
“But I have one question.”
That said, Major Lee Hye-na voiced her concern here.
“Even in stealth mode, firing a gun will reveal your position eventually. The Mogs will swarm it. How do we handle that?”
“Exactly. They'll zero in on the gunfire for sure.”
To that question, Kim Seo-jun replied.
“Whether there are mines there or not.”
And hearing that answer, no further doubts remained.
“Nothing's easier to deal with than enemies charging straight at a sound.”
If anything, it filled them with conviction.
This operation might yield even more astonishing results than expected.
“Then let's commence the op.”
Kieeeek!
The Mog legion charging toward the Polish Base was immense in number.
Mogdogs alone numbered heavily—at least over 5,000.
Thorn Snakes reached the thousands too.
But the most imposing presence among them was the colossal Tank Worms.
The legion's might was overwhelming, but their sheer numbers meant their advance was slower than expected.
Kieeeek!
Thus, the fastest Mogdogs kept surging forward, then halting repeatedly.
It was tedious, frustrating work, fraying their nerves more than ever.
That was when it happened.
Pfht!
A bullet slammed into the head of a lead Mogdog, exploding it.
Kii!
Kiii!
The Mogdogs instantly went on alert, scanning their surroundings.
Pfht, pfht!
Then their heads began bursting one after another, over ten in quick succession before they reacted.
Kieeeek!
About a hundred Mogdogs charged full tilt toward the gunfire's origin.
Perbuk!
Even as they ran, heads kept exploding nonstop from bullets.
Perbuk, perbuk, perbuk!
The death toll was staggering, every single one a headshot without exception.
Yet their charge showed no hesitation.
Instead, they fixated solely on the fact that bullets came from one spot.
Proof that the human slaughtering their kin was there.
Kieeeek!
As the gunfire grew close, their cries filled with rage.
Soon, they saw it.
Kii?
Nothing but barren wasteland.
Kii, kii!
Perplexed, the Mogdogs halted, scanning around.
That instant.
Tututututu!
Gunfire erupted again from about 200 meters away, felling another dozen-plus Mogdogs with headshots.
Meanwhile, the remaining 33 charged toward the new sound.
Kieeeek!
But their cries carried more confusion and shock than fury.
It couldn't be helped.
Kieee!
No matter how far they ran, nothing was visible.
No target.
Tututututu!
Another barrage rang out, and by then, no Mogdogs remained.
Silence fell.
Mogdog defeated!
In that silence, hearing the alert, Kim Seo-jun kept stealth active and aimed at the distant Mog legion again.
Tututu!
He fired just as before, and the legion responded identically.
They sent a Mogdog pack.
But this time, 300 strong—and even under sustained fire, their numbers barely dwindled.
Unlike before, half—150—reached the gunfire site.
By now, even the Mogdogs knew: the enemy was invisible.
Focus on sound.
Tututututu!
Gunfire sounded; they charged with all they had.
Not in a straight line this time—flanking in arcs to encircle.
Kii!
The moment they converged, full of certainty—
Perperperbung!
Buried Claymore mines detonated with thunderous blasts.
The clustered pack amplified the devastation.
44 Mogdogs were obliterated on the spot, as good as dead.
Survivors were riddled with shrapnel, pierced through, unable to fight normally.
Tututututu!
Fresh gunfire mercilessly headshot the remnants.
By then, the Mog legion halted.
Over 400 Mogdogs dead—no further advance possible.
Kii!
Yet another Mogdog wave charged—900 this time.
Tututututu!
Even as they exploded head by head every second, the horde's scale made it unnoticeable!
Worse, they didn't come from one direction. At the gunfire's crack, 900 scattered from all angles toward the sound.
Kwajik!
Even Thorn Snakes slammed tails into the ground, priming thorns.
Tututututu!
All Mogs madly rushed the gunfire spot.
Convinced: this time, they'd get it.
That was when—
Woooooong!
A hoverbike—Uryong—blasted in at insane speed, shoving aside Mogdogs to reach the site.
“Sergeant!”
“Go!”
Private Park Bo-seop, arriving, gunned it at the voice's command.
Bwooooooom!
Uryong roared like pure high-output power, vanishing from the scene.
Kii?
The explosive speed left charging Mogs frozen, unable even to pursue.
They just stared blankly at its trail.
“Whoa!”
Shaking off the Mogs in one go, Park Bo-seop exclaimed in awe.
“Uryong's no joke! This speed with such stability—insane! First time on a hoverbike like this!”
He marveled at Uryong first.
Its power and performance were beyond imagination.
But even more astonishing was—
“Sergeant's incredible too! Looks like over 400 down already?”
In this skirmish—under 10 minutes—Kim Seo-jun's results were unreal.
“Precisely 477.”
And Kim Seo-jun knew exactly.
He couldn't not know.
Mogdog x477 defeated. 477 points awarded.
One-shot kills: 332 Mogdogs. One-shot-one-kill bonus: 664 points awarded.
400+ kills this battle. Streak bonus: 400 points awarded.
The Status Window provided precise info and points without fail.
And the gains didn't end there.
“Their advance has stalled. It'll take them considerable time to resume.”
The legion's arrival at Polish Base was massively delayed.
That was when—
Stealth skill deactivating.
Kim Seo-jun's form materialized, and he spoke.
“Engage again in 6 hours.”
Hearing that, Private Park Bo-seop was speechless, lost in thought.
'A few more of these... could Sergeant Kim take them all solo?'
Not just delaying and whittling—not impossible to end the fight.
Of course, that was absurd.
Kim Seo-jun thought the same.
'Even with more engagements, max three more.'
At current pace, 19 hours to Polish Base.
Stealth cooldown: 6 hours—three more fights possible.
Not bad.
Arithmetic: 500 per fight, luck holds—nearly 2,000 Mogdogs total including these!
'Won't be easy.'
Conversely: still 3,000+ Mogdogs, 1,000 Thorn Snakes, 2 Tank Worms ahead—for a base defense.
And headaches: Thorn Snakes and Tank Worms.
Base couldn't move.
That was when—
“Whoa, Sergeant! Sandstorm incoming!”
A signature Amotia Planet sandstorm barreled toward them.
“It's huge!”
The kind that blinded Mogs and humans alike!
“Damn timing!”
Facing it, Kim Seo-jun said.
“Luck's on our side.”
“Sir?”
“Opportunity.”
“What kind?”
“Perfect chance to take out Thorn Snakes.”
He promptly positioned at range, then as the storm hit, shouldered his sniper rifle at them.
Visibility: zero.
“Piercing Sight.”
Yet Kim Seo-jun's eyes pierced the haze faintly—enough.
Twang!
Thorn Snake defeated!
Kim Seo-jun sniped Thorn Snakes through the storm.
Not all one-shots due to sand, but he didn't care.
This was bonus round.
Inflicting wounds was win enough.
Kwakwakwa!
As the storm passed, Kim Seo-jun heard.
Thorn Snake x91 defeated. 455 points acquired.
91 Thorn Snakes defeated at 500m+. Marksman bonus: 910 points awarded.
Hearing it, Kim Seo-jun mounted Uryong and bolted without hesitation.
He moved to the next spot early, recharging there.
No need for bunkers.
“Battery and supplies here.”
His inventory brimmed with Uryong's auxiliary batteries and rations.
After rest and resupply, he repeated: stealth-harass the legion.
Watching from afar, Private Park Bo-seop and Major Lee Hye-na were stunned.
“Major, seriously—looks like Sergeant's gonna wipe 'em.”
“Seems that way.”
No answer to Kim Seo-jun's feats.
“Might even bag a Tank Worm.”
“That's tough.”
Even for him, Tank Worms looked impossible.
Last three were fluke, not hunt.
Unlikely repeat.
“Yeah, even saying it sounds ridiculous—wait...”
That instant.
Grroooaaar!
A massive roar; Park Bo-seop, scoping, freaked.
“Wha-wha-what!”
Then he yelled.
“Tank Worm down—one! Sergeant's work!”
“What the—!”
Major Lee Hye-na recoiled too—then—
Over Kim Seo-jun's comms, Park Bo-seop gushed praise; Kim replied.
“Huh?”
“Th-then who?”
“That possible?”
That instant, listening Major Lee Hye-na spoke.
“Hawk Eye.”
“Huh? Oh! Yeah!”
That instant.
Chijijijik!
Rough noise flooded Kim Seo-jun, Park Bo-seop, and Lee Hye-na's speakers.
Click!
Noise cut; a voice emerged.
A woman's voice.
Quite alluring.
But all froze hearing it.
Instinct told them.
This was Hawk Eye.
No empty threat.
Sniping farther than Kim Seo-jun—with Tank Worm-killing power—Hawk Eye had them in sights.
Hijacking comms meant positions known.
One trigger: end their story.
Answer mattered most now; Kim Seo-jun responded.
“Huh?”
“What?”
Park Bo-seop and Lee Hye-na's faces blanked; brains stalled.
Hawk Eye replied.
Kim Seo-jun responded.
30 minutes later, Kim Seo-jun's group saw it.
The Mog legion—reduced to scorched earth, like a bomber run.
A voice reached the awestruck team.
