Definitely More Comfortable
I barely remember anything after that. With how hard she'd been pounding into me, it would have been a miracle if I'd stayed conscious.
The body had always been so frail that even the slightest effort left me wrecked with muscle soreness, which was a constant headache. Still, a proper rest seemed to help — I felt surprisingly refreshed.
No foreign sensation. No residual heat between my legs. Nothing.
Wanting a little more rest, I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. That same comfortable feeling from before settled over me, and my mind went quiet. It felt like sinking into a brand-new blanket — and then a faint tickle down below…
"Huh?"
I scratched at the itch without thinking, and my fingers found something that shouldn't have been there.
I bolted upright.
Muscular calves sticking out from under a pair of shorts. A blunt, unmistakable presence nestled between my thighs. And a pair of large hands to match.
My eyes went wide.
I clenched and unclenched my fists, double-checking that the sensation was real. It was.
I had no idea how or why, but my body was back to normal.
Grasping the fact took almost no time at all. Fully accepting it took a little longer. I blinked a few times, and then the corner of my mouth slowly curled up.
Finally. I was free of that living hell.
Every single day had been spent walking on eggshells around Song Haneul. I couldn't overpower her, couldn't report her, couldn't even tell Mom and Dad. Nothing worked. That suffocating, dead-end existence was over.
"Oh, right."
We each used our own phones, so if I wanted mine, I'd have to go to Song Haneul's room. She still hadn't made a sound — probably still asleep. Not that it mattered either way.
I wasn't the person I'd been before. No more fretting over the difference in strength. No more tiptoeing around because I'd done something wrong. If anything, Song Haneul should be the one groveling right now.
Knowing her personality, that was never going to happen. I decided not to hope for anything big.
Swapping the phones back put my mind at ease.
My friends were still hunting for gaming parties and drinking parties, same as always. Some guy who'd enlisted a whole month after me had just gotten discharged, and the group chat was already roaring over it. Same old bastards. I'd been waiting to mess with the new private the second he got out — the timing couldn't have been better.
Not anymore.
Maybe the timing had just been off before. Watching them pile on with zero hesitation, I thought, yeah — same old bastards.
Still, I wasn't about to skip gaming. I powered on the computer.
"God, I missed this feeling…"
I was genuinely moved. In Song Haneul's body, the keyboard had always felt a little too big. Now it fit perfectly. I wasn't just typing — this was the exact right size for what I needed.
"What are we playing?"
The second I hopped into voice chat, my friends lit up. Most of the conversation was about me — how I hadn't shown up for a single drinking session, hadn't even joined voice chat in ages. The poor guy who'd just gotten discharged got completely sidelined. Not that I'd planned it that way.
We bounced between AOS and FPS, jumping from game to game, and the hours vanished. By the end of the night, someone even threw out a drinking plan.
With that kind of energy, there was no way I could sit this one out. I'd been wanting this myself, so I just smirked.
"Obviously. Want me to head out now?"
Voices piled on top of each other until I couldn't even tell who was who. I was still figuring out what to say when a sound that was practically a scream cut through everything.
Even through the speakers it must have been loud, because the whole chaotic chorus went dead silent.
"It huuuuurts!"
"Ah — hang on a sec."
I hit mute, pulled off the headset, and set it down. Not long after, the door I'd closed earlier flew open with a bang.
Song Haneul came staggering in like someone with a dislocated hip, and she looked absolutely wrecked. It was October, but she was drenched in sweat, letting out little whimpers with every step. She shuffled over and stared straight at me.
"…Sleep well?"
"Y-you're back?"
"Woke up and here I was."
"Why…? How?"
She was trying to process it in that dazed voice of hers, but of course it wasn't going to be that easy. I didn't have any real answers either. I just shrugged, but she still looked like she couldn't believe it.
She started frantically scratching at her thighs through her pants, restless and lost.
"Ah, shit. This hurts like hell…"
"Well, at least you don't have to worry anymore. Rest a bit more, then go finish whatever proposal you were working on."
"You seriously don't know why it switched back?"
"You're the one who should know. I just passed out because I had no stamina left."
"I don't… remember much either…"
Was she just that dense? She'd done the whole thing herself and now she couldn't remember — what was I even supposed to say to that?
Song Haneul raked her hands through the hair she'd carefully put up, messing it all up, and groaned. Part of me still resented having to walk on eggshells around her. Part of me was still angry about being forced into everything. I wasn't completely fine with it — but I had plans, and I didn't feel like getting into a fight right now.
"Get out. I've got somewhere to be."
"What plans?"
"The drinking sessions I couldn't go to while our bodies were swapped."
"Oh…"
She looked like her feet were glued to the floor, so I gave her a shove between the shoulder blades. Her body went without any real resistance, stumbling out through the doorway. More cooperative than I'd expected — though, to be fair, this wasn't exactly a situation where Song Haneul had any room to raise her voice.
It was autumn. The weather was cool enough that you could dress light or heavy, whatever style you wanted. We called it a country of four seasons, but I always felt a little sad watching this particular stretch of the year get shorter and shorter. Still better than freezing your ass off in a puffer jacket, though.
If I'd still been in Song Haneul's body, I'd probably be laid out sick right now. My own body didn't have that problem. Even after everything that had happened the night before, aside from a faint residual discomfort down there, nothing felt particularly off.
"Long time no see."
"What the hell were you doing for a whole month that we only heard from you in chat?"
My friends trickled into the meeting spot one by one. Once everyone was there, we headed straight into a bar and ordered a full round of beer. Drinking without having to worry about getting blackout drunk for the first time in ages tasted pretty damn good. I'd caught myself craving sweet stuff out of habit and paid for it a couple times, but even that was part of the fun.
"Cheers."
"Yeah, go."
We hung out for hours. Hopped between bars, hit a karaoke place, a billiards hall. By the time dawn rolled around, we split up and caught the first trains home. I thought about crashing somewhere, but sleeping comfortably in my own bed sounded better, so I drifted back toward the house. Not like I had anything to do when I woke up anyway.
"…Haa."
The alcohol left my head warm and heavy. The cold autumn night air cooled it right down — a perfect feeling.
I punched in the door code and stepped inside. The whole house was dark except for the TV, still on. Not porn this time, at least. It was going to be Song Haneul either way, so I didn't bother saying anything.
Acting as casually as before felt… off, somehow. I'd thought everything would just snap back to normal once our bodies returned, but after everything we'd been through, it was impossible not to feel a little awkward.
I went into my room and peeled off clothes that reeked of alcohol.
"Need something to change into…"
"Song Hamin."
I was digging through a drawer, trying to decide what to put on, when the door opened. I'd wondered why she was watching TV at this hour — was she actually waiting for me to come home? I tensed up for a second.
Old habits. There was no reason to be scared of Song Haneul anymore.
"What?"
"Nothing, just… checking in."
"On what?"
"Seeing your friends for the first time in a while."
"It was fine. We had fun. Why?"
That didn't seem like the real reason she'd come, so I asked again. Song Haneul pouted, fishing for the right words.
"No, just…"
She twisted her body around, swinging one leg idly. She wasn't particularly tall, but the proportions made her legs look endlessly long. Not that it did anything for me the way it had for her. Maybe because I knew it was Song Haneul. Family wasn't supposed to make you feel that way in the first place.
"You weren't sitting in front of the TV waiting just for that, were you?"
"N-no. I was resting and time just… got away from me."
"Then go finish watching. I'm gonna shower."
"You're showering?"
"Yeah."
"That's…"
She kept trying to string something together in that awkward way, and yesterday's words floated back to me. I figured out, more or less, what she was fretting about.
Just wait till our bodies switch back. I'll really give it to you.
Was she scared I'd actually follow through and take her? After being on the receiving end herself, her whole body had been screaming in pain — maybe she couldn't stomach the idea of going through it again. But she'd been the one who started it, so she couldn't exactly pretend it never happened. Stuck between a rock and a hard place.
"I'm not gonna do you. Unlike someone I know, I don't jump people, so relax."
Whatever she was worried about, I had zero interest in letting my dick run the show. Just because I had no experience with women didn't mean I was so sex-crazed I'd take anyone. Unless your brain was literally attached to your cock, you ought to have at least some basic judgment.
Besides, hanging out with my friends — gaming, drinking, going out — was more than enough for me.
"……"
Song Haneul said nothing. I gave her shoulder a light clap and headed for the bathroom. Clothes in hand, I stepped under the shower and ran my fingers back through my hair as the water poured down.
"Haa. This is definitely more comfortable."
I was humming before I even realized it.
