Don't Pretend to Be Close
I forgot that class even existed.
I don't understand.
I am a girl.
I even revealed my voice during the auction broadcast.
Normal blood flows through my veins, not testosterone.
Why are you even talking about testosterone instead of estrogen in the first place?
(Attached Photo: Yu Nabi looking disgusted)
And I am not the gallery mascot.
I've never even written a single post on In-Gal, let alone be its mascot.
I will never become friends with people who spout nonsense like "I'd smash based on her voice" or "She must have finished her military service."
Don't pretend to be close to me.
- Whoa, whoa, don't do this to us
- Give me back my gallery mascot, you chest monster
↳ The chest is good though?
↳ Why would we simp for the mascot if she didn't have those?
- Cognitive dissonance hitting hard right now
- lololololol
I've been running simulations in my head, and I honestly don't think there was a better pick than Grim Reaper in that situation.
She shut down the Magic Marksman with healing reduction and burst damage, and forced Havoc onto Druid.
Even if you brought in an active pro coach or director, wouldn't this have been the absolute best move?
Plus, this person's adaptation speed to a new class is freakishly fast.
(Attached Video: Havoc swinging his axe down and Yu Nabi blocking)
This is the video of their first clash. You can see Havoc striking first to buy time for his transformation.
But look here—the Grim Reaper's stance drops slightly.
Since her opponent is stronger than her, she shifted her center of gravity downward.
That way, her stance stabilizes so she won't get shaken.
And she didn't even drop it too much, just the exact amount needed.
This is a detail you rarely see unless they're in the top 0.1%.
Think I'm exaggerating?
Maybe, but this is someone who was playing a full-Strength Berserker just the game before.
Common sense dictates: do you think you guys could make a calculation like that on the fly?
Against a first attack, it's easy to either overreact or underreact.
I checked just in case, and she has zero match history on Grim Reaper.
She might have tried it in practice mode, but this was her first time using it in a real match.
It really was a pick she just pulled out on a whim.
Anyway, there are a few other scenes that show her adaptation speed...
Na Jia had started her very first broadcast with a "Saint" concept.
There wasn't any grand reason behind it.
The biggest factor was simply that her main class in Infinity Realm was Saint.
Also, if she was going to roleplay, she wanted to do something that wasn't too far off from her actual personality.
It was a bit embarrassing to admit, but Na Jia fundamentally considered herself a pretty nice person.
She wasn't so self-absorbed as to think she was a literal saint.
However, she was naturally bad at speaking harshly to others, and she couldn't just pass by someone in need.
She had suffered quite a few losses in life because of this personality trait.
In other words, Na Jia was basically a gentle, soft-spoken person.
Although her personality had been slightly warped by years of streaming, her innate nature hadn't vanished.
She still possessed a generally easygoing temperament.
Most of the time during her streams, she was acting to some degree.
"...Did you call me just to do this?"
"Ahahaha! Ah... Ah, I think I'm gonna die. My cheekbones hurt so much. Hahaha!"
"You're seriously insane."
But one thing was for sure: Na Jia's laughter right now was one hundred percent genuine.
She was laughing so hard that her breath hitched.
She pressed her hands against her cheeks as if they really ached.
Seeing her occasionally wipe the corners of her eyes, it seemed she had even teared up.
"You know what? I'm just as happy right now as I was when we won."
"I feel like I'm losing my mind."
"Pfft, haha..."
They had won the Challengers Cup.
That alone was cause for celebration, but she had won it after snatching the very player Hanul had his eyes on.
To top it off, the player she stole had put on an absolutely legendary performance!
Na Jia couldn't contain her joy.
In her entire streaming career, today was easily one of the happiest days she had ever experienced.
People often called Hanul and Na Jia arch-rivals, but strictly speaking, they were wrong.
To be arch-rivals, there had to be some back-and-forth.
But in most cases, Na Jia was the one who got unilaterally teased and ended up huffing in frustration.
She knew it.
The viewers watched them because that dynamic was funny.
That was why Hanul and Na Jia kept collaborating and maintaining their connection.
But she was human.
She wasn't a machine; she had feelings.
If you get picked on every single day, you're bound to want to pay it back eventually!
Having fully achieved her revenge, Na Jia's heart was lighter than ever.
Hanul, who had come to be the sacrificial lamb, clutched his throbbing head.
At this rate, the stream wouldn't progress.
Ultimately, he took the reins to keep the broadcast moving.
"Oh, right. I heard you guys are meeting up now that it's over."
"Yeah. We're going to get together for a meal."
"Is Nabi-nim coming too?"
"She said she is. I got a message from her earlier. I get to meet her before you do! I'll be the first to witness what kind of person she is and how pretty she is. Ah, I can't wait."
"Why do you always have to add unnecessary comments?"
It seemed Na Jia was hyper-focused on the fact that she had "stolen" Nabi today.
Her constant teasing of Hanul was on another level.
Where on earth did she learn to talk like that?
From her irritating tone to her facial expressions and side-eyes, she was the picture of a perfect nuisance.
Hanul pondered for a moment before realizing the culprit was himself.
He was glad he hadn't said that out loud.
This was a hot topic that had been circulating ever since the meet-up was mentioned.
Yu Nabi's avatar was incredibly beautiful, and her voice was remarkably soft and melodic.
"Well, I doubt she looks exactly like that in real life..."
"Even celebrities tweak their faces a bit in Infinity Realm. I bet she used her real face as a base, but it's probably not a hundred percent match."
"But even if she just used it as a base, wouldn't she still be gorgeous? Her posture and aura were on a whole different level."
"I wish I could live just one day with those looks."
"Do you have an inferiority complex?"
"It's not that... Well, actually, now that I think about it, living like that might not be so great. School life must have been exhausting."
"Isn't it the opposite? Do you think being the prettiest girl in the district is a joke? She must have been insanely popular."
"Sigh, Hanul. Being pretty is only good up to a point. If you're too pretty, people will criticize you no matter what you do, saying stuff like 'she's acting like she's all that just because of her face.' And on top of that, the jealousy..."
Na Jia waved her hand dismissively.
Having gone through all-girls middle and high schools, the world of girls was a jungle rife with schemes and conspiracies.
In particular, the backstabbing and rumors were horrifying just to think about.
She could never forget the "friends" who would giggle together, only to completely change their expressions the moment one of them walked away, whispering things like, "I heard she's sleeping around lately."
Of course, they stopped being friends after that.
"Anyway, I might be envious, but it sounds exhausting. Wouldn't it be better to just keep her by my side like a doll?"
"I don't think Nabi-nim would want that."
"No, I can just make her want it. I'll treat her so, so, so, so well that she won't be able to live without me. Simple, right?"
"You're completely out of your mind. I need to tell Nabi-nim to watch out."
"No! I didn't mean it like that. I just meant we should get along like close sisters. You guys are the ones who are crazy!"
"I just DM'ed Siz to stop you if you do anything suspicious. You know you'll get canceled instantly if you mess up, right?"
"Hey!"
"Wow, seriously. Having to worry about your chastity around women, not just men. It must be hard being beautiful."
As they talked, the tables turned.
Hanul relentlessly latched onto that one slip of the tongue to tease her.
Na Jia yelled back in frustration.
Their usual banter had returned.
In truth, despite their words, they weren't expecting much.
As mentioned before, her avatar's appearance was simply too unrealistic to exist in the real world.
She might be pretty, but the avatar was likely heavily modified from her actual face.
Believing that was the consensus not only for Na Jia and Hanul, but also for the community at large.
And so, time flew by.
The day of the meet-up was just around the corner.
