Chapter 699: Daily Life
Chapter 699: Daily Life
Silvia told me to go on ahead, but as a gentleman, I couldn't just heartlessly abandon one of my women.
So I decided to wait outside the carriage until Silvia was ready.
I figured I’d pass the time by chatting with Vanessa, who was still in the driver's seat.
“Why aren’t you getting down, Vanessa?”
“…I will remain here and guard the carriage.”
Just like last time, it seemed Vanessa planned to stand guard.
“Come on. There are plenty of people at the palace to look after it, and this is going to take a while. Why not come inside and relax in a room?”
“…No. I am fine.”
I tried to persuade her, but Vanessa stubbornly refused to leave the carriage.
She’s always so damn cautious.
“You’re worried the princess has gone into a frenzy again, aren’t you?”
“……I am not.”
That was a long pause, you know.
Well, it has been quite a while since my last visit.
Come to think of it, how long has it been?
Compared to the last time Felicia went berserk… is the timing still okay? Or am I a little late?
Even as I mulled it over, I continued trying to persuade Vanessa.
No, it’s not like I particularly want to see Vanessa get turned on by Felicia’s aura again. It’s just that, purely for her sake, waiting inside would be more comfortable than sitting in the carriage.
I’m only saying this out of concern for her. Really.
Besides, if I really wanted to, I could easily put Vanessa into a state of arousal myself.
…Though if I did that, she’d probably be so angry she wouldn’t even look at me afterward.
“It doesn’t really matter anymore, does it? Even if you are affected again, I can take care of it for you. And we’re in this kind of relationship now, so…”
“I am a butler right now.”
I started with a lighthearted tone.
I hopped up next to the driver’s seat, intending to wrap my arms around Vanessa’s waist, but she lightly slapped my hand away and spoke coolly.
“I wonder how long you can keep up the butler act? If I get serious… It’s a joke. A joke, so don’t look at me like that. Jeez, she can’t take a joke.”
I shot her a sly grin as I teased her, but Vanessa just pierced me with a gaze as cold as a glacier.
Her stare felt even colder than usual when I make these kinds of jokes, probably because of the incident with Sara this morning.
Damn it. Because of that, a joke that would normally be brushed aside now sounds strangely loaded.
And it’s not like I can reveal that what Sara said was a lie.
I might have suffered a bigger loss from that excuse than I realized.
I’ll have to collect the price from Sara tonight, in full.
“Our relationship started thanks to you being affected by the princess’s aura, so I think I should be grateful for it.”
“I am grateful for that.”
“Oh? Is that so? So, Vanessa, you’re also happy that we’re together.”
“……”
“Hey. If you just stay quiet, it feels like I’m talking to myself. Give me an answer.”
“I am a butler right now.”
“You’ve been using that like a cheat code lately, haven’t you?”
Hey, don’t just avert your eyes when you’re at a disadvantage.
She’ll do anything to avoid saying something embarrassing.
One day, when we’re alone, I’ll make her say all the embarrassing things she can handle.
“Anyway, it’s fine, so just come with me. Besides, if you stay out here in the carriage, it’ll make other people uncomfortable, won’t it?”
“That is why I…”
“Following by your master’s side is also a butler’s duty, isn’t it?”
“……”
When I brought up her duty as a butler, Vanessa was finally at a loss for words.
Hah. How do you like that? This is what happens when you constantly emphasize your position as a butler.
If Vanessa had a craftier personality, she could have insisted on her position as my woman and held her ground, but that’s not who she is.
“You can just follow me and then split off to rest in the reception room before we get to the princess’s chambers. You don’t have to worry about being affected by her aura again.”
But well, I didn’t really want to push her too hard.
Besides, given the timing, there was a real possibility that Felicia was already in a frenzy.
Although, seeing as no one in the palace was running around in a panic like last time, I figured she probably wasn’t.
“…No. I will accompany you to the room.”
“Huh? No, you don’t have to. We’ll be… getting right to it as soon as we get there.”
“Still, as you said, Sir Guwon, it is a butler’s duty to accompany you.”
“Oh really? Then you can stay by my side and help out while I’m with the princess… My apologies. That joke went too far.”
“……”
Hey, isn’t that the coldest look you’ve given me all day?
She rarely shows me any affection, but she sure does get jealous.
“I-I’m finished…”
As I was passing the time with this idle chatter with Vanessa, Silvia finally emerged from the carriage.
Her face was bright red, and she hung her head like a sinner, her fingers fidgeting as if she were dying of embarrassment. It was incredibly cute.
With Silvia and Vanessa in tow, we followed a maid toward Felicia’s room.
Right. The palace isn’t in an uproar this time.
So she hasn’t gone berserk yet.
I thought the timing would be cutting it close, but maybe Felicia has developed a bit more patience?
No, wait. Didn’t she say last time that it was getting harder and harder to hold back after being with me?
Hmm… I don’t know. This world has too many hidden systems I’m not aware of.
Well, I guess that’s to be expected since it’s not a game.
As I walked along, lost in thought, we soon arrived near Felicia’s room.
“Vanessa. Are you sure you’re okay? You can just head to the reception room from here…”
“No. I am fine.”
“You’re not secretly looking forward to this, are you?”
“……”
Come on, stop looking at me with that icy expression every time.
“Ah! U-um! Sir Guwon!”
As Vanessa and I were talking, Silvia suddenly started in surprise and called out to me.
“Hm?”
“Um, could the two of you please wait in the reception room for a moment? I’ll go first and… have a word with her.”
“Huh? Oh, was the thing you had to do something you needed to tell Felicia?”
“Y-yes!”
“But Felicia is probably… ah, right, you must have seen her earlier. How was she? Did she seem okay the last time you were here?”
“Ye-yes! Of course! There were no problems at all!”
Silvia nodded with an exaggerated vigor.
Seeing that, I wasn’t about to miss the fact that something was off.
Something’s suspicious. Silvia is trying to hide something from me. And she’s doing it for Felicia.
It was easy to deduce that much, but the next part was the problem.
What? And for what reason? Something Silvia would need to hide from me for Felicia’s sake.
Putting that together with the fact that she wants to go into the room before me to check on the situation… Ah, no way.
“…Silvia.”
“Ye-yeheee…”
When I called her name in a serious tone and bent down slightly to meet her eyes, Silvia, who had been so desperate just a moment ago, instantly looked terrified.
I wasn’t trying to threaten her.
“If Felicia couldn’t control her lust and is fooling around with some guy, and you’re trying to cover for her, it’s fine. I don’t really mind. I told Felicia before, I have no right to tell her not to sleep with other men…”
Before I could finish, Silvia grabbed both of my arms.
Her expression was completely different from before, now showing a resolve befitting her title as a Knight of the Royal Guard.
Though, the way her eyes trembled slightly as she looked directly into mine gave me the feeling she was forcing herself.
“It’s not like that. It is absolutely not like that. Please, believe me.”
Her voice didn’t even tremble as she spoke with such clarity and conviction. There was no way I couldn’t be persuaded.
For her to be this serious… she must not want her friend’s honor to be tarnished.
Their personalities are completely different, but their loyalty to each other is incredible.
And Felicia, for all her bluster, seemed to care deeply for Silvia as well.
“Okay. I get it. I believe you. We’ll wait in the reception room, then. Is that all right?”
“Hyaht! Th-thank youuu.”
When I smiled and patted her head, Silvia seemed to finally realize just how close she was, staring right into my face.
The strength drained from the hands gripping my arms, and her resolute expression melted away.
And so, I decided to wait with Vanessa in the reception room.
The fact that Silvia wanted to finish her business before I began my… activities… must mean it was quite urgent.
Or perhaps it was an important matter that couldn’t be discussed with a Felicia who would be exhausted after our session.
Well, considering she forgot about it on her last visit, I doubted it was anything too critical.
An hour passed as Vanessa and I waited.
Actually, I rarely get a chance to spend time like this with Vanessa, so honestly, it wasn’t so bad.
It wasn’t bad, but this girl, even when we’re alone like this, she keeps insisting she’s a butler and maintains her professional posture.
Well, we weren’t completely alone; maids were attending to us nearby.
Still, isn’t she being a bit too guarded? She doesn’t need to mind the maids.
Since Vanessa was acting this way, all I could do was crack jokes.
And I was starting to run out of material.
But more importantly…
“…She’s late. Way too late. Isn’t she talking for too long, no matter what it is?”
“…Indeed. She is late.”
Even Vanessa had to admit that Silvia was taking a long time to return.
From the way she spoke earlier, it didn’t seem like it would take this long.
“Alright. Should I go check it out myself?”
“…Sir Guwon, even for you, I believe it would be rude to interrupt while Lady Silvia is speaking with the princess as a Knight of the Royal Guard.”
“Still, if I go, I can at least find out how much longer it’ll be. The princess asked for my help, so I came here for her. I have that much right, don’t I?”
“…That is true.”
This time, Vanessa didn’t seem to have any objections.
“I’m going to go, then. You wait here, Vanessa.”
“…Please be safe.”
It would be one thing if it was just me, but having her butler barge in as well, even as an attendant, would be a bit much.
Leaving Vanessa in the reception room, I followed a maid to the princess’s door.
There, two female knights stood guard, their faces strangely flushed.
“S-Saint! You’ve come!”
“Yes. I have a quick question. Are Silvia and the princess inside right now?”
“Ye-yes! They are!”
“I’ve been waiting for a while and she’s still not out. Any idea how much longer it will be?”
“Ye-yes?! Th-that is…”
What’s with this knight? Her reaction is a little odd.
Could it be? Is she one of my fans?
I’ve been getting a few of those lately. This damn popularity.
“If you don’t know, can you go inside and ask for me?”
“Wha?! Th-that is… I mean…”
I don’t have the authority to do that.
That’s what the knight’s expression seemed to say.
I guess that makes sense.
But I wasn’t in the mood to wait around forever.
“Then I’ll just pop in for a moment and ask myself.”
“Ah, Saint! Wai—!”
I couldn’t wait any longer. Seizing a moment when the knight was off guard, I yanked the door open.
Sure, it was rude, just as Vanessa had said.
But would Silvia and Felicia really make a big deal out of something like this?
That was part of my thinking.
The moment I opened the door, all of my questions were answered at once.
Why Felicia hadn’t gone into a frenzy yet.
Why Silvia wanted to meet with Felicia before I did.
Why Silvia was taking so long.
And even why the knights guarding the door were acting so strangely. All of it.
“Hnngh! Haaaah! Hahng! Hiiit! Uuuuunghh!”
“Fe-Felicia, stop! Calm down! I said, calm down!”
The instant the door opened, a woman’s moans, filled with pleasure, echoed from within the room.
The heated air from inside washed over my entire body, hot and humid, as if to announce just how steamy the activities on the bed were.
“…What are you two doing?”
I couldn’t help but ask that question as I stared at Silvia and Felicia, tangled together on the bed.
Yes. Felicia was completely naked on the bed, scissoring enthusiastically with Silvia, who was likewise stark naked.
And that wasn’t all.
Several other beautiful women were strewn about the room, their faces flushed, breathing heavily, and their bodies twitching.
Wh-what in the world…
