Chapter 500: The Aftermath
Chapter 500: The Aftermath
“Why are you making that face? I’m saying you don’t have to use a wish or anything just to ask for a kiss.”
Well, it was true that until now, I’d been the one to avoid kissing even when the mood was right during sex. But things were different now.
I’ve already made up my mind to deepen our relationship.
That was the roundabout way I chose to tell Silvia of my resolve.
But even after hearing my words, Silvia just stared at me, her mouth agape.
It must have been too sudden for her. She looked like her brain had short-circuited, unable to process what I’d just said.
Honestly, what am I going to do with her?
“…Don’t die.”
I muttered that, just in case, and slowly brought my face closer to hers.
“…Eh? Eh?”
Silvia stared blankly at my approaching face, barely managing to let out a dazed sound.
And when my lips finally brushed lightly against hers, her eyes went as wide as they possibly could. And then…
“Hya… ah, ahh… a… k-kiss, kiss, ki, ki…”
…Silvia broke.
I told her not to die beforehand.
It was an incredibly light kiss. It ended with just the faintest touch of our lips, not even a hint of tongue. And it was fleeting—I doubt they were even touching for a full second.
It was so light you’d think a peck on the cheek from a child would be more intense.
And with that one kiss, Silvia completely fell apart and started making strange noises.
I waved a hand in front of her face, but her eyes didn’t even twitch, as if they couldn’t focus.
“Ki, ki, hieeuk…”
And finally, Silvia’s eyes rolled back as she slumped backward and collapsed.
Like an overheated machine shutting down with a puff of smoke.
“Silvia?!”
I rushed to catch her, calling her name.
…No response. Looks like she’s a corpse.
“Sh-she’s really dead…!”
I tried joking around like usual, but I didn’t get Silvia’s typical reply.
Of course I wouldn’t. Unlike the other times when she managed to survive, this time Silvia had stopped breath—
Well, she was breathing just fine.
Even I wouldn’t joke like this if she were actually dead.
I made sure to check for her breath by putting a hand to her nose before I started teasing.
I mean, come on. People are surprisingly resilient. As if she’d die from something like this.
…To be honest, though, I was a little scared this time. The way she collapsed was just too realistic.
It was so convincing that even I was startled enough to immediately check if she was breathing.
But still, what do I do now?
I hadn’t planned for things to go this far.
I’d told the others to wait, thinking this conversation would be over quickly.
I thought Silvia’s wish would be something like a sweet, lovey-dovey date for a whole day, or to spend an entire night with me, or to ask me to kiss her every time we had sex from now on, or maybe even to ask for an Apostle’s Seal. Something more than just a single kiss.
She’d gotten so embarrassed she ran away every time the topic of her wish came up, so I expected some grand request, but all she wanted was one kiss.
I was so dumbfounded that I just gave her a light one, but I never imagined she’d actually faint.
Isn’t her tolerance way too low?
If I gave her an Apostle’s Seal or told her I’d take her as my concubine, she’d probably die of happiness on the spot, no questions asked.
In any case, I had to do something.
I couldn’t just leave Silvia here, nor could I just wait around until she woke up.
It would be one thing if I were alone, but the others were waiting for me in the dining hall.
I gently carried Silvia to my room and laid her on the bed.
Then I went back down to the dining hall.
“What were you two talking about that took so long?”
“Sorry. Things got a little complic—why are you still here?”
“W-what does it matter!” Diana retorted, her face flushing slightly, even though she hadn’t left.
She said she didn’t want to join because she hates exercising, but I guess she felt lonely being the only one left out of a group activity?
She’s a cute one, that’s for sure.
“…Well, whatever. Anyway, Silvia kind of fainted while we were talking. Sorry, but could you all go on ahead and start practicing? I’ll join you with Silvia as soon as she wakes up.”
“How on earth do you make someone faint just by talking? What did you do to Silvia?”
“It was nothing. Just a little… you know… that talk we had before. Something related to that came up.”
“““Ah…”””
As I said that, the voices of Sara, Diana, and Leia blended in perfect harmony.
It seemed all three of them had a good idea of what had happened.
I was honestly a little nervous as I said it, but thankfully, none of them looked too serious.
It’s not like they were fine with it just because they’d already given their permission… no, that can’t be it. It’s probably because the person in question is Silvia.
Everyone’s known Silvia for a long time, so they were already in a state of semi-acceptance.
“…What on earth are you all talking about?”
Amidst the strange atmosphere, Matilda, who had no idea what we were talking about, just looked bewildered.
“Well, something came up. Anyway, you all go on ahead. I’ll be there as soon as Silvia wakes up.”
After explaining the situation and sending the girls to the bathroom, I returned to my room where Silvia was sleeping.
She was still lying on my bed, sleeping as if she were dead.
And when I say ‘as if she were dead,’ it’s just a figure of speech. I’m not saying she’s actually dead. She’s very much alive.
I pulled up a chair and sat down, staring at Silvia’s sleeping face.
The reason I sat in a chair a little ways away instead of on the bed was to prevent Silvia from fainting again the moment she woke up.
That aside, seeing her with such a placid expression reminds me of when we first met.
Back then, I never could have imagined she’d react to me like this.
Even now, when she’s still like this, she looks like she has a rather calm personality.
No, apparently, she is calm, just not in front of me.
Felicia, who’s known her the longest, said so, and my girls have also told me that Silvia is quite composed when I’m not around.
Well, I don’t know if I’ll ever see that side of her for myself.
“Nngh… Mmm… Hehet. Guwon-niiim…”
As I got bored and started poking her cheek, Silvia mumbled my name and buried her face in the blankets, hugging them tightly.
Is she unconsciously smelling my scent and enjoying it?
Honestly, just how much does this girl like me?
Then again, I guess that’s why she fainted from a single kiss.
“Nngh… Hmm? Wh-where…?”
As Silvia was happily hugging my blankets, she must have finally noticed something was off, because her eyes slowly began to open.
“You awake?”
“Hyaaaaaaak! Aht! Hyaaaaa…!”
The moment she heard my voice, Silvia practically jumped thirty centimeters off the bed, then flailed her arms and legs to scramble away from me.
Naturally, the bed wasn’t infinitely wide, so she fell off, landing hard on her butt. But even then, Silvia didn’t care and kept flailing.
She ended up practically crawling on the floor as if she’d thrown out her back, but she safely reached the wall, plastered her entire body against it, and stared at me from as far away as possible, trembling uncontrollably.
“…Anyone would think I was about to eat you.”
As I muttered in disbelief, Silvia’s wandering gaze began to focus on one spot.
That’s right. On my lips.
“Uwah, ah, ahh… k-kiss… kiss…!”
“What are you making such a fuss about? We’ve already had sex several times.”
I tried to calm her down with a nonchalant tone.
Then again, a kiss is more meaningful than sex in this world, so maybe that was the wrong thing to say.
“B-But…! A kiss! A kiss…! We kissed…!”
It seemed Silvia thought the same, as she pressed herself flat against the wall and said it as if protesting.
“Did you not like it?”
“It was wonderful! But! Buuuut!”
…If you liked it, don’t wail like that.
You’re making it sound like I did something terrible.
“Alright. I get it. I’m sorry for doing it so suddenly. I’m sorry, so please calm down.”
Though I don’t think it counts as a surprise, since I did tell her not to die beforehand.
Even as I thought that, I tried desperately to soothe her, but Silvia showed no signs of calming down.
Sigh. I guess this isn’t working. She’s not going to calm down like this.
Still, it didn’t look like she was going to faint again, so I decided to finish the conversation we started earlier.
“Just so you know, that kiss just now wasn’t for your wish. My promise to grant you one wish is still valid. So don’t waste it on something like a kiss. And it goes without saying, I won’t grant some trivial wish like letting you skip swimming practice either.”
“A k-kiss… is just… a ‘kiss’…?”
Hearing my words, Silvia mumbled in disbelief, as if she’d misheard me.
“It’s a meaningful act, sure, but I don’t think our relationship is so fragile that we can only kiss after you make a wish.”
“Ah, ah, ah, ahhh…?!”
“Hey. I told you not to faint. I waited for you all this time, and you’re trying to pass out again. You don’t get chances like this often, you know? If you faint again, I’m just going to leave. So pull yourself together.”
“Y-Yes! Hehet!”
When I spoke firmly, Silvia, still not quite grasping the situation, started slapping her own cheeks as if to follow my orders.
…Isn’t she hitting herself a little too hard?
Her cute cheeks are turning a little red.
“As you might have guessed from what just happened, the scope of what you can wish for is much wider than you think. So this time, instead of something like a kiss, think carefully about what you really want to do and make your request. You know what I mean, right? Be a little greedier. Tell me the real wish you’re holding deep in your heart.”
“B-B-But… but something like that…”
Hearing my words, Silvia’s trembling intensified.
She was shaking so hard that a painting on the wall she was pressed against began to rattle.
“I’m prepared to accept it. And… I’ve already gotten permission from the others.”
“Ah, ahh…! Ahhh…!”
It seems what she was about to say was indeed about her concern for the others.
Hearing my words, Silvia’s face crumpled with overwhelming emotion, and she began to cry.
It would have been a much better picture if she were clinging to me with that expression.
Why is she doing that while plastered against the wall farthest away from me?
“G-Guwon-niiim…!”
“Yeah, yeah. Your Guwon-nim is right here. So, have you thought of what you want to wish for?”
At my question, Silvia, who had been sobbing her heart out, suddenly stopped crying. She froze in place, still in her crying posture.
“……Uwah, ah, ahh… Impossible! Im-im-impossible! It’s impossible! I-I’d d-die… If I did that… If I did thaaat…!”
After staying frozen for a while, Silvia suddenly thawed, her entire body turning beet red as she shouted, trembling even more violently than before.
I had a pretty good idea of what she was trying to say, but I decided to ask just to be sure.
“I don’t know what ‘that’ is, but what happens if you do ‘that’?”
“This time, I’ll really, truly die!”
…Yeah. I knew you’d say that.
