Chapter 116: Leia's Daily Life
Chapter 116: Leia's Daily Life
“In that case, how will you handle the treatments?”
As Guwon and Leia were gazing warmly at each other, Sara cut in.
“That’s true. Kyle used to have everything figured out and would guide us. What should we do?”
As Leia spoke in a thoughtful tone, a finger to her chin, a booming voice echoed from a distance.
“Of course, I will guide you!”
Of course, the voice belonged to Kyle.
“What the. What are you doing here already?”
“You, stay out of it! More importantly, Sister Le… I mean, Lady Leia, I will guide you.”
“Ah… um, well…”
Leia looked at Guwon with a troubled expression.
“She says she doesn't want to walk around with a pervert like you who can't even repent for his mistakes.”
“That's not it! Please, believe me! I really wasn't…”
As the guy tried to make another excuse, Leia furrowed her brow slightly.
Being as pure and innocent as an angel herself, Leia did seem like the type to hate lies.
Kyle seemed to notice this too, as his words trailed off.
“I… I didn't mean to do such a thing, I was just possessed by something…. I am truly reflecting on my actions! It will never happen again! Please forgive me!”
Kyle said this while prostrating himself on the ground, begging.
Wow. He actually admitted he did it. Is he okay? Did he want to stay by Leia's side that badly?
“…Please, get up. Could you guide us to where the sick people are?”
“Y-You forgive me?!”
“You are reflecting on your actions so deeply. Is there anything more for me to forgive?”
Even to a pervert like him, Leia was an angel.
“You should be grateful our Leia is such an angel. To be forgiven for such perverted acts. Any other woman would have told you to never show your face in front of her again for the rest of your life.”
In fact, Chris and Sara were subtly hiding behind me, as if to protect themselves from Kyle.
“G-Ggggh! I-I know that without you telling me!”
In the end, Kyle took the lead and began guiding them to the sick.
This was charity work: handing out potions to the sick in the slums, with Leia and Chris going around using healing magic to treat them.
Potions must be pretty expensive. The temple is quite generous.
Is it because their income is so good? The number of people who come for every service is huge, so they're probably raking in a ton of donations.
One thing I learned for sure while following them on their charity work was that Leia was incredibly popular here.
Everyone in the slums revered Leia as if she were a saintess.
Seeing this reaction, it seemed I didn't have to worry too much about Leia's safety, at least in the slums.
However, since she was actively caring for the patients, it was unavoidable that there would be a lot of physical contact.
Just like when you go to the dentist and the assistant's chest brushes against your head.
Could that be one of the reasons Leia is so popular?
Sorry to say it, but compared to Leia, Chris is seriously lacking in the feminine volume department.
“This is insane.”
“Well, it's to be expected. Before she joined your party, Leia came here to help people every single day without fail.”
Chris replied, her expression showing she was used to this kind of reaction.
“Really?”
“Yes. On top of the temple's support, Leia even spent every last bit of her own money to help the people here.”
Come to think of it, Leia was broke when I first met her.
I'd wondered why she never seemed to spend much money while we were together. So this was the secret.
It was a reason that made her immense popularity in the slums completely understandable.
My bad, Chris. For a moment there, I really thought the difference in your popularity with Leia was all about volume.
“As expected of our angel. Even the way she spends money is angelic.”
“…Really, there's no competing with Leia.”
“Hm? What's this? Sara, were you competing with Leia over something like this?” Guwon said in a slightly provocative tone, trying to tease the muttering Sara.
“…Haaah.”
But Sara just stared blankly at Guwon's face before letting out a tired sigh.
Wh-what's with her? Why isn't she rising to the bait like usual?
After that, the party continued to make their rounds, healing people until the evening sun began to set.
Even though all he did was watch, Guwon was quite tired.
While physical contact was unavoidable for treatment, there was always the chance some despicable bastard would try to touch her "accidentally on purpose."
There was no guarantee there weren't other guys like Kyle, so I even had to use Analyze on every single person.
But my efforts paid off, and I was able to block every guy who tried to touch our angel more than necessary.
Yep. I definitely need to stick close to her when she comes here.
Guwon once again made a firm resolution in his heart.
After finishing their healing rounds, they stopped by the orphanage again to make dinner for the children.
“By the way, why are you still following us? You have no business here, so get lost.”
“I live here, so of course I'm here!”
“What? You didn't get kicked out?”
“Because of your sland… After seeing how deeply I repented for my mistake, the director understood.”
Kyle was about to yell at Guwon but changed his words after glancing at Leia.
He's completely accepted that he committed a perverted act. Good attitude.
That aside, it seems he managed to sweet-talk the orphanage director.
Then again, the director here didn't witness the scene of his social annihilation, so I guess it makes sense.
Leia isn't the type to go around gossiping about things like that, so maybe my plan to completely bury this guy failed.
I wonder if Chris will tell her later? Or should I secretly tell her myself?
By the time they left the slums and arrived at the temple, it was already quite late at night.
Tonight was Leia's turn, so she had to return to the mansion with them.
That's why Guwon had also followed them to the temple.
It seemed she had to pack her things and make a brief report.
While waiting for Leia, he turned to Sara, who was sitting properly beside him this time, and spoke.
“Sara.”
“Yes?”
“I'm still not over it, you know.”
“O-Over what?”
“Don't tell me you don't remember what you did to me earlier today?”
“Th-that was… I was just surprised because Leia suddenly showed up…”
“Ugh. I think I hurt my knee when you pushed me.”
“D-Don't lie! You took a Werewolf's attack with your bare body…”
“Aaargh. Is it because the distance between our hearts is so great! You're so cold even to an injured person!”
“Sh-Should I give you a lap pillow again?”
“Hoh. Are you claiming your lap pillow has that much value?”
“Are you saying it doesn't?!”
Ugh. Did I choose my words poorly? This would have worked on someone like Leia.
Sara is fully aware of how beautiful she is, so she can be incredibly confident at times.
“Ugh. The wound my heart suffered earlier today…”
Guwon clutched his chest and made the most pitiful face he could muster.
“Wh-What is it you want?”
Nice. We're back to square one.
This is the important part.
“To heal a wounded heart, you need to soothe the wound. But just stroking it isn't enough. It has to be more direct…”
“Just get to the point.”
“When we sleep together later, could we… maybe start by bathing together?”
“…Fine.”
Contrary to his expectations, Sara agreed surprisingly easily.
“Really? No take-backs, okay? You can't change your mind when the time comes.”
“I get it. We just have to bathe together, right?”
Yes. Heheheh. To agree so easily, without knowing my grand plan.
Guwon had not yet given up on his dream.
The grand dream of bathing with his beautiful party members in a huge bathroom, attended by maids.
It was an act that perfectly fit the word "harem."
To achieve that dream, the first step was to get them used to bathing with him one by one.
“Guwon-ssi. Do you have a moment? The High Priestess is asking for you.”
Just as he finished his negotiations with Sara, Leia appeared at the perfect time and called for him.
“Me? Why?”
“I'm not sure. She just told me to bring you.”
What is it? Don't tell me she's going to make me study again when we haven't even been to the dungeon yet?
Of course, it was fun in its own way, but I didn't want to do it at a time like this.
Most importantly, I'm supposed to be spending a delightful night with Leia.
“It's about the Mana Pool habitat. Could you possibly guide someone there?”
But thankfully, it wasn't about studying.
“Oh? You haven't sent anyone there yet?”
“No. For some reason, requests for adventurer dispatches have suddenly increased, and we've become short-staffed. For now, we're planning to send just a few people to manage the place. They're skilled enough, but they aren't very familiar with the dungeon. I'm worried about whether they can find it with just a map…”
I see. So that's the problem.
The increase in dispatch requests is probably my fault.
I did reveal a new route, after all. Adventurers trying to pioneer new areas are probably seeking out more priests than usual for safety.
Normally, I'd be reluctant to travel with anyone outside my party since we only use the secret passage, but…
“That's fine. I had to go that way anyway to install the teleport circle.”
When Diana goes to install the teleport circle, she won't be going alone.
She'll definitely be going with some guild staff.
In that case, we won't be able to use the secret passage anyway. A few more people from the temple won't be a problem at all.
“Then I'll contact you when we're heading into the dungeon. It'll probably be within a few days.”
“Yes. Thank you.”
After finishing their conversation with the High Priestess, the party finally returned to Diana's mansion.
It was supposed to be a day off with nothing to do, so I just tagged along with Leia, but the day felt incredibly long.
It was a rewarding day, though.
“You're back…”
When they arrived at the mansion, they went to see Diana first, only to find her sprawled out on her bed.
“W-We're back. Are you okay?”
“Mmm… No problem.”
“How did the negotiations go?”
“I just decided to give the heads of each school their own rooms.”
“Oh? That's it? What about the others?”
“That's what was so difficult. The backlash was severe.”
“I'm surprised you managed to end it on those terms.”
“Mm. It seems the school heads are planning to have individuals with outstanding achievements stay as their attendants.”
It ended up much better than Guwon had thought.
In truth, having the school heads stay was also a measure for when Guwon wasn't around.
The heads of the schools were all women. Since Diana wasn't always at the mansion, they probably wouldn't leave her side for a second when she was there.
The calculation was that this would naturally prevent any male bastards from hitting on Diana.
But with these conditions, there was a chance that no men would be able to enter the mansion at all.
The heads wouldn't choose male attendants to stay in the same room, after all.
“That's great!”
“Mm. I think so too. But you seem happier than I expected.”
“Of course. Isn't your joy my joy?”
“Hmph. Hmph. In any case, you certainly have a way with words.”
But Diana didn't seem to mind, getting up from the bed to pat Guwon's head.
“By the way, about installing the teleportation magic circle. When do you think we'll go?”
“Probably tomorrow. Why do you ask?”
“Oh, the temple asked me to guide them to the Mana Pool habitat. I was thinking we could go together when we install the teleport circle. Tomorrow works out perfectly.”
“Hmph. Then I shall have someone contact the temple.”
“Yeah. Thanks.”
After talking with Diana, Guwon quickly returned to his room.
In the room, Leia was sitting blankly, still in her priestess's robes.
The truth was, Guwon had asked her to wait without washing up.
Now that I've completely figured out the conditions for her Gumiho transformation, isn't it about time I enjoyed Leia's true form before she turns?
And as a bonus, it's one step closer to my grand plan, filled with a man's romance.
