Chapter 110: A New Chapter
Chapter 110: A New Chapter
“Lady Diana. The heads of each school have all arrived.”
Not long after, a knock was followed by Vanessa’s voice.
Oh, what do I do? She’s not even awake yet.
“Alright. Tell them to wait a moment.”
Guwon answered Vanessa first, then gently shook Diana to wake her.
“Hey. Diana. Diana. Wake up. The people you were waiting for are here.”
No response. She was like a corpse… well, not a corpse, but still.
This was bad. What was I supposed to do? I couldn't just make them wait indefinitely.
At this point, I had no choice.
There was only one method left.
Don’t blame me for this. I definitely tried to wake you up normally first.
Guwon flexed the part of him that was still nestled deep inside Diana.
The reason was simple, of course.
If waking her gently didn’t work, I just had to give her a stimulus so intense she couldn’t possibly stay asleep.
Guwon reached out and clamped a hand firmly over Diana’s mouth, then pulled his hips back slightly before thrusting forward hard.
“Hnghhhhh!”
Yep, this works in one shot.
Awakening to an overwhelmingly intense pleasure, coupled with the sight of someone covering her mouth, seemed to throw Diana into a slight panic. The moment she woke up, she began flailing her arms and legs wildly.
“W-Wait. Diana. It’s me. Calm down. Here, take a deep breath. A deep breath.”
“Hmph? Hmph. Hmph.”
Finally seeming to grasp the situation, Diana stopped moving and took a deep breath, just as Guwon had said.
Seeing that she had calmed down a little, Guwon slowly removed his hand.
“Haah, haah, haah. I-It’s really no use now. People are really going to come.”
“Yeah. They’re already here.”
“What?! Haah!”
At Guwon’s words, Diana tried to scramble up, only to be hit by another jolt of stimulation that sent her sinking back into the bed.
“Okay, I’ll pull out then.”
Guwon covered her mouth once more and pulled his hips back.
“Hnnggh!”
With a wet pop, Guwon’s member slid out, and Diana’s body shuddered once again.
Good thing I covered her mouth.
“Haah, haah. What do you mean, they’re already here?”
“It’s just like I said. I told them to wait a moment.”
“You mean they’re waiting right outside the door?! Then why on earth did you move your hips again?!”
Diana clutched her head with both hands and shouted.
“Well, you wouldn’t wake up when I tried to do it normally. I couldn’t just make them wait until you decided to get up, could I? I figured that would do the trick.”
“What kind of ridiculous logic is that?!”
“It worked, didn’t it?”
“Ugh! Ugh!”
Seemingly at a loss for words, Diana just kicked her legs in frustration and glared at Guwon.
“Alright, alright. Don’t be like that. Hurry up and get dressed. People are still waiting outside.”
“And whose fault is that? Whose fault!”
Despite her words, Diana hastily grabbed her clothes.
“Ugh. It’s all wet.”
“Heh heh. Was it that good?”
“What did you just say?”
“Nope. Didn’t say a thing.”
Diana’s glare was so sharp that Guwon couldn’t risk another joke.
“You, just you wait until we get back to the mansion.”
Realizing she couldn’t delay any longer, Diana spat out the words and began to cast a spell.
She summoned a large orb of water that enveloped her clothes, cleaning them in an instant. It seemed to be the same principle as the magical washing machine at the inn.
Then, she wrapped her own body in the water orb to wash herself in a flash, shot Guwon a sharp glare, and washed his body as well.
That’s our Lady Diana. No matter how much she complains, she always takes care of me in the end.
“Don’t just stand there gawking. Go open a window.”
“Okay.”
As Guwon opened the window, a cool breeze swept through the room, centering on Diana’s body.
Did she get rid of the smell? She’s thorough.
After that, Guwon quickly threw on the clothes he’d tossed on the floor, but Diana was struggling.
“You’re the one who took them off! Do it properly!”
The problem was that the structure of her dress was far too complex.
It seemed Diana had no idea how to put it on.
No wonder it was so hard to take off.
“Wouldn’t it be better to just call Vanessa and have her do it?”
“No!” Diana said, looking embarrassed.
Does she really need to be embarrassed? Vanessa probably knows exactly what we were doing in here anyway.
The female mind truly is a mystery.
In the end, since neither Guwon nor Diana knew how to properly put on the dress, they had to resort to a final measure.
“Ahem. Vanessa. You may let them in.”
After making some rough preparations, Diana sat in a chair and spoke.
Of course, she was wearing her dress properly.
No, to be precise, it looked like she was wearing it properly. At least on the surface.
In reality, it was less that she was wearing the dress and more that she had it draped over herself.
She was hiding the complex structure on the back by sinking into the chair, pressing it out of sight.
The door opened, and the heads of the Mage Association finally entered.
When one thought of the head of the Mage Association, an old man with a flowing white beard usually came to mind, but this world was, as expected, different.
Every one of the dozen or so people who entered boasted outstanding looks. Of course, as representatives of their respective schools, they did look a bit older.
Even more surprising, there wasn’t a single man among them; they were all women.
This is why I love this world.
Most of the important positions were occupied by women of exceptional beauty. That receptionist who mentioned being the head of some family when I was creating the clan was a woman, too.
“Lady Teluna. Have you been well?”
The women glanced at Guwon, who was standing beside Diana, then ignored him as if he didn’t exist and greeted her.
“Wait. Do not come any closer.”
“Y-Yes? L-Lady Teluna?”
As the leaders tried to approach while greeting her, Diana’s face hardened and she stopped them.
She was probably worried they’d notice she wasn’t properly dressed if they got too close, but the heads of the Mage Association took her words another way and looked utterly shocked.
“I am angry.”
Diana crossed her arms and spoke with a deliberately grave expression.
Oho. So that’s the angle she’s going for.
A ripple of unease spread through the leaders, but Guwon just found the situation amusing.
It was obvious to him that the only reason Diana had her arms crossed was to keep the front of her dress from gaping open.
“What do you all think of me? Do you truly respect me?”
“W-What do you mean… Of course we do! Please, believe us!”
They looked more devastated than a guy who’d just been asked by his girlfriend, “Do you even really love me?”
“If Lady Teluna commanded it, I would strip naked and run through the center of town right now!”
“Hah! Is that all? Lady Teluna! If you commanded it, I would seal away all of my mana this instant!”
One by one, the heads of the schools began to proclaim just how much they revered Diana.
“Enough, enough! Quiet! So. Are such people going to interfere with my research?”
“I-Interfere! If you were to stay with our school, we could provide you with a much more comfortable research environment. We would empty the school’s entire coffers if we had to…”
“Our school as well…!”
“That is not the issue! I wish to travel freely and conduct my research!”
“B-But Lady Teluna! You are a treasure to all the mages on the continent, no, to all of humanity! If you were to get even a single scratch…”
“I am more than strong enough that you need not worry about such things!”
“But from the looks of it, have you not reincarnated?”
“And so? Are you saying I am weak because I have reincarnated?”
“N-No! That is absolutely not what I meant…”
“Then what is the problem?”
“L-Lady Teluna. Without you, none of us have the will to live. During the time you were gone, I cannot tell you how many times I thought of taking my own life…”
“That’s right. The only reason we didn’t was because we feared it would be a burden on your heart… Please, we beg you to understand our pitiful circumstances!”
It was like watching a group of religious fanatics.
The school heads looked ready to die at Diana’s every word, but it was clear they still wanted to avoid a situation where she wouldn’t stay with one of their schools.
“Ugh…”
When they started talking about wanting to kill themselves, it seemed our kind-hearted Diana could no longer maintain her firm stance.
This isn’t going to work.
“Excuse me. Isn’t that basically threatening Diana?”
“What! What an absurd accusation! And more importantly, who the hell are you?!”
The moment Guwon spoke, the school heads, who had been thoroughly ignoring him until now, all turned to glare at him in unison.
A faint killing intent began to emanate from their bodies, and the pressure was no joke.
He could genuinely feel the fear of death.
Honestly, he’d been underestimating them a little after getting through the Mage Tower so easily, but that was clearly a hasty judgment.
“He is the leader of the clan to which I belong,” Diana said from the side when she saw Guwon was too overwhelmed by the killing intent to answer.
“What?! Lady Teluna, in the clan of some unknown…?”
“Are you insulting my clan?”
“No! I am certain it is the greatest clan in the world!”
“Hmph. Of course it is. It is the clan I joined, after all.”
“Of course!”
Good grief. Look at them, putting on a whole show for each other.
“Ahem. In any case, Diana needs to continue her activities with our clan. As the Clan Leader, I cannot allow you to just take one of our members as you please.”
“What? Aren’t you the one who took Lady Teluna from our Mage Association?!”
“What are you talking about? Diana stepped down from her position as head of the Mage Association. As I understand it, she wasn’t affiliated with anyone, was she?”
“Y-You bastard! Lady Teluna is the spiritual pillar of our Mage Association! Even if she is not affiliated on paper, she is always with us in the hearts of all mages!”
At this point, it’s a sickness. A real sickness.
“But it seems Diana wants to be with me. Right, Diana?”
“Mm.”
“L-Lady Teluna! How could you…!”
The school heads wailed with faces full of grief.
“Do not make such faces. I have discovered a new possibility in magic from this man. I am currently conducting the greatest research of my life, even greater than when I first established the schools of magic. Do you still intend to interfere?”
Seeing them wail so sorrowfully must have softened her heart, because Diana’s tone became gentle and soothing.
“Th-That can’t be…! What kind of research…?”
“Ahem. Th-That is a secret for now.”
Diana’s face flushed slightly as she spoke, likely recalling her skill research.
“Ugh. If Lady Teluna is going to put it that way…” “But what about the morale of our mages…” “We must swallow our tears here…”
Still, Diana’s words this time seemed to have been effective enough.
The leaders’ opinions were divided, and they began a heated debate amongst themselves.
Good. At this rate, if I just offer a little carrot, they should come right over.
“If you’re so miserable about not being able to see Diana, how about this?”
“Hm?”
“Instead of Diana traveling and staying at each school, a few selected members from each school can take turns staying at Diana’s mansion.”
“Wh-What!”
At Guwon’s suggestion, the school heads shouted, exclamation points practically appearing over their heads.
Guwon had given it some thought.
Even if Diana traveled between the schools, the number of people who could actually see her would have been limited anyway.
If that was the case, there was no problem with having a small number of people take turns staying at her mansion.
In fact, why hadn’t they done this before?
Did they revere Diana so much that the very idea of daring to stay in her mansion never even occurred to them?
Judging by their reactions, that seemed to be the case.
“W-What authority do you have to…”
“Diana’s mansion is now our clan house. As the Clan Leader, I believe I have that much authority.”
He hadn’t actually discussed this with Diana, but a quick glance at her face suggested it was probably fine.
“Diana’s mansion has its limits, so we can’t have too many people staying over. A few people from each school can stay in rotation. Of course, that includes you all as well. Think about it. This isn’t Diana briefly staying in a space you prepared for her. This is you staying in the place where Diana lives, a place filled with the scent of her daily life.”
“Oh, ooh…!”
The leaders wore expressions of pure ecstasy, as if they were high on something.
“We’ll have to discuss the details, like the number of people, the duration of their stay, the order, and so on… but what do you think? If you want, we could even let you, the leaders, stay there permanently. Diana is conducting the research of a lifetime, so you’d have the noble cause of supporting her. Isn’t it perfect?”
“Yes! Excellent! Our school will do it! Can we start staying there today?” “O-Our school as well!”
The leaders can stay permanently.
That one phrase was all it took for every single leader to agree to Guwon’s proposal.
“Today might be a little difficult. We need to prepare the mansion as well. It’s late, so why don’t we wrap this up for tonight and talk again tomorrow?”
“A-Ahem. Right. I was too hasty.”
“Good. It seems we’ve mostly settled things. It is late, and I am a bit tired. Would you all mind taking your leave for today?”
“Ah! Yes! Of course! We apologize for intruding so late!”
“Good night, Lady Diana!”
“Mm. You all sleep well, too.”
“Yes! We will sleep well!”
Since Diana couldn’t get up, Guwon personally escorted the leaders to the door.
“Well then. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Mm.”
“Wait a moment. You.”
“Yes?”
“You’re a better guy than I thought.”
“I agree. At first, I thought you were just some slick pretty boy.”
“We’ll be in your care from now on!”
The leaders spoke with bright smiles, as if a lifelong dream had come true.
By the way, do I look handsome even to these people, who must be incredibly high-leveled?
Putting points into Charm… doesn’t seem so bad after all.
