Prologue: Sword God
The fallen world—Murim—had called me by that name.
"So this... is Earth, is it."
The world I had returned to was an unfamiliar one.
When it came to my personal details, nothing much had changed. I still had no family, no friends, no lover. What had changed, however, was the face and age printed on my ID card. The age I perceived myself to be and the age on that card were impossibly far apart—the twenty-five years I had spent in Murim amounted to barely a sliver of time here.
And then there were things so alien they defied belief.
A short man in outrageously revealing clothes clung to a woman's arm, cooing and acting cute. Every billboard on the street was plastered with models who were men wearing uncomfortably heavy makeup. The men walking the streets strolled about in short shorts.
"How sublime."
