The Awakened Yeti
Seruk-!
Kang Hanbit charged straight ahead, his blade piercing the necks of the newly spawning monsters as he pressed forward rapidly. He didn't even need to use skills. The strengthened foes' movements and tough hides couldn't withstand his sword.
"Hup!"
Jinook and Kevin tackled the monsters from their respective directions. As A-rank adventurers, they were undeniably solid assets.
Shiiik-!
Deeper in, Hanbit dove into the surging horde. The small fry could wait. Prioritizing the high-damage threats came first.
Tat-dat-!
As he sprinted, he finally closed in on the first hulking monster. A twisted ironclad lizard, its body encased in iron-gray scales that left no apparent gaps.
Shuk- Its red eyes flashed as it detected him. Lowering its stance, it whipped its tail in a massive swing.
Whoosh-!
The head-aimed strike was ferocious. Hanbit watched it to the end, then tilted his upright sword just so.
Kigi-gik-!
The tail grazed his blade's flat and glanced off. Its momentum carried it crashing into the ground with a thunderous boom.
Thud-!
Hanbit immediately kicked off, leaping high to land on its back. He thrust his sword into the gap between its neck and torso.
Puk-!
Kieeek-!
The blade slipped between scales, piercing its thick hide. The lizard thrashed and screamed. Steadying himself, Hanbit drove the sword deeper.
Crack- He felt bone and something snap at his fingertips.
The lizard's writhing stopped right after. Chuk-!
Pulling free sprayed blood. A light kick to the neck sent him vaulting down as the beast's massive body tilted.
Thump-!
No time to watch it hit the dirt. He kicked off again toward the drooling white bear.
Kruk-!
Sensing him, it instinctively swung a massive forepaw.
Hook-!
Hanbit dropped low; the blow whistled over his head. Gripping his sword two-handed, he charged its chest.
Puk-!
The blade punched through hide, straight between ribs. Its heart tore wretchedly at the tip.
Shwaaak-!
Hanbit yanked free and flicked blood from the blade against the ground.
-Whoa
-Instant kill;
-Weaker than I thought?
-I could do that too maybe?
-Viewers who think they'd get shredded by those, upvote.
-Bears rip people apart.
The hulking monsters fell effortlessly. Even enhanced beyond past encounters, they posed no issue. Hanbit was stronger than ever, after all.
Shiiik-! Puk-!
He kept advancing, methodically clearing them. Dozens down in under a few minutes.
'Roughly cleaned up.'
After the last one, Hanbit scanned around. His targets were mostly handled. Jinook and Kevin were still locked in combat elsewhere.
Kwang-! Pew-pew-bang-!
The battlefield by the walls was a spectacle. Magic cannons and bombs raining on monster heads—attacks from within Ifrit.
The fruits of everyone's combined efforts, citizens included.
"How dare you filthy monsters!"
"Think we'll let you turn into Hedrics? Charge!"
"Where'd that earlier momentum go?!"
"Uahaha! Burn 'em all!"
And dominating the fray: dwarves slaughtering with every weapon imaginable. Soldiers and adventurers fought too, but were overshadowed.
-Their energy's insane. lol
-That's not hype, that's ecstasy.
-Gimme weapons like that and I'm in.
-Fr, firepower's nuts.
-Episode reset prayer day 1.
Chat sped up every time dwarves hit the camera. Peak player fantasy fuel.
'That side's fine.'
Third wave priority: survival. Zero casualties planned. That's why he'd enlisted aides like Zenon and Avant-garde to manage risks.
Dwarves were exceeding expectations, though.
"Tough bastards."
"Took too long."
Kevin and Jinook regrouped after mopping up. A bit time-consuming, but the dangerous hulks were done. One threat left.
Ku-goong-!
An ominous rumble from deep in the forest. The battlefield's master had arrived.
"This is..."
"A Yeti?"
The boss infamous for ruling Ifrit's outskirts. Both adventurers had hunted it before.
But this was no version they'd faced.
"We'll handle the Yeti as far from Ifrit as possible. Skills could engulf the city."
"...It has those kinds of moves?"
"The enhancer causes that much change?"
They questioned Hanbit's plan. New skills on a powered-up foe seemed off.
"Enhancers can force out latent potential too. No effect on big shots like Snow Drakes, but plenty for Yetis."
Enhancers weren't just rage boosters. Isis hadn't predicted this Yeti mutation.
Ifrit wave results would reshape monster enhancement research. Kidnapping Isis now, in early stages, was key.
Ku-goong-!
The vibrations intensified. Hanbit turned to the pair.
"Let's go. Lure it far from the city."
Tat-!
He kicked off first, blazing into the forest. Toppled trees and churned earth everywhere. Minor monsters thinned out dramatically.
Wave basically repelled.
Kung-!
Vibrations grew as he neared. Hanbit stopped atop the source.
'How much has it changed?'
Monsters twisted unnaturally—beyond past cycles. Even Isis feared Yeti changes. Unpredictable for Hanbit too.
Sararak- Frost bloomed along his sword hilt.
A power shift as intriguing as the unknown Yeti.
'This...'
Attribute Manifestation's chill ignored him. But its intensity registered clearly.
Newly tempered blade: frost attribute reinforcement at 100. Near-double the effect.
Kung-!
Vibrations closed in. Hanbit focused, stance set, eyes locked.
Then the ground shook once more.
Kwa-gwagwagwa-!
A massive hand burst from the earth before him.
Kwadud-!
It braced firm. Another followed, and the beast emerged.
Kruk-!
Snow-white furred giant's upper body, glowing red eyes. Thick, muscled arms exuded menace.
[Boss: Awakened Snowfield Guardian Yeti (Lv.140)]
-Huh?
-That's a Yeti?
-It's huge af.
-Lv.140 lololol
-Fake boss right?
-White Wyvern wins?
-Nah, elite vs boss.
[Whyvern donated 1,000 won.]
[Me?]
Viewers reeled at the vibe—nothing like regular Yetis. Wyvern comparisons fell flat; Yeti would snap its neck in a real fight.
Kwa-gwagwa-!
Bursting fully free, the Yeti stood on two legs. Four meters tall, rippling with overwhelming power.
"Black Dragon!"
"This thing's a monster."
Jinook and Kevin halted instinctively on arrival. Even A-ranks felt the rare pressure. Enough to raze Ifrit solo.
"Focus. One hit and you're dead."
At Hanbit's warning, they steeled into stances.
Kruk-!
The Yeti scanned like sniffing air, eyes landing on them. Then it moved.
Kwang-!
Thunderous kickoff from the giant frame—insanely fast.
Tat-!
The trio scattered swiftly. Yeti targeted Jinook.
Hook-!
Arm extended to crush. Jinook dodged coolly using terrain, but counter openings were scarce amid the pressure.
Kwa-gwang-!
Yeti bulldozed trees and rocks. Jinook evaded by hairs, no room to strike back.
"Fall back!"
Hanbit warned, charging in. As distance closed, he thrust a hand at its face.
"Fire Lance!"
Hwaruk-!
Element Amplification-launched flame spear rocketed toward its nose.
Pang-!
Kraaaah!
The pinpoint blast hit home. Yeti roared, eyes snapping to its attacker.
Tat-!
Hanbit bolted without looking back. Destination: eastern cliff edge. Showdown spot.
Kung-! Kung-!
Chaser's speed was no joke—matching full sprint.
'Buy more time.'
Quicker than expected; plan tweak. Mana potion down, sword gripped.
That instant.
Hook-!
A fist punched through trees.
"...!"
Off-guard, Hanbit reacted. Body lagged thought. Direct hit meant death.
Sensing mortal peril.
Shuk- A short figure appeared before him.
Paak-!
Yeti's fist engulfed the sudden arrival. The impact birthed horror.
Kwa-gwagwagwa-!
Someone sailed through dozens of trees. Hanbit's glance caught the face.
"...Kudran?"
Speechless at the dwarf's entrance. Instant death blow. Way too pointless.
Duduk- Amid worries, a sound.
Then hearty laughter from afar.
"Haha! That stung a bit!"
Flying Kudran popped up. Striding over casually.
