The Twins' Plight – A Broken Oath and a Tower's Cruelest Lesson
Yoo Dahui slammed herself against me, her body trembling as she kept checking the Mana Oath on my wrist over and over. She rubbed her face against my chest, leaving streaks of tears and snot everywhere.
“Ughhh, Jinwoo-yaaa! Kim Jinwoo-woo!”
She furiously wiped at her runny nose, but the discomfort she felt was impossible to hide. Still, Yoo Dahui didn’t care one bit about my mood. She just grabbed my cheek and tried to smash our faces together.
“Kiss, kiss me…!”
Exactly what kind of trial had she gone through? It was so damn curious. I knew trials could make emotions go haywire, but this was way too intense. Even stranger coming from Yoo Dahui of all people.
Smack. Smack. Slurp-slurp-slurp. Short kisses, then that deep sucking motion. Yoo Dahui drew my lips in. This is my trial? The thought hit me hard as we dove into a deep, messy kiss. We finally broke apart, strings of saliva stretching between our lips.
“Say you love me!”
Yoo Dahui stared at me with eyes brimming with tears, begging desperately.
“Yah!”
As soon as I stayed quiet, fresh tears rolled down. They were the saddest little chicken-droppings tears in the world.
“I love you.”
“Again.”
“I love you.”
“Ugh…”
I pulled her into my arms and stroked her back soothingly, patting her gently. Even after her sobs, she slowly began to calm down. Way different from the novels. In the stories she’d always thrown a tantrum, but this wasn’t the same at all. After she settled a little, I looked at her.
Yoo Dahui was quietly curled up in my arms like a good girl.
“What exactly was that trial?”
“…I’m not telling you.”
“Come on, tell me. What could be so bad that you’re reacting like this?”
“I’ll never tell.”
Yoo Dahui pressed her lips together, curling even tighter into me like a kitten shivering in the cold. Not bad at all. Right now, holding Yoo Dahui, I felt pretty good.
“Isilia, did you succeed with the awakening?”
“No. The trial was way too brutal.”
Isilia pouted, her face still carrying the unpleasant taste of the trial memories.
So nobody passed, huh? Excluding me, who had it handed to me on a silver platter, both of them failed. The trial required mental fortitude, so we had to get stronger ourselves. Still, Yoo Dahui should’ve been able to pass it in a flash.
“Feeling better now?”
Yoo Dahui nodded, her response softer than during the baby regression play. It was almost enough to make me hard again, but I held it in.
“Can you walk on your own?”
“…You can carry me, right?”
“Huh?”
Yoo Dahui mumbled something that sounded like a favor. Not really a request, more like a demand.
“Carry me?”
“Yes. Do the uncle thing for me.”
Exactly what kind of trial did she go through? I was dying to know.
“I’ll carry you. So stand up already.”
Yoo Dahui fidgeted and rose unsteadily. I turned my back and knelt, and she quickly climbed onto my back. I felt the heavy weight of her breasts against my back.
“Eep.”
I gave a little bounce to adjust, lifting her to the right height. I supported her thighs with my arms and clasped her hands together. I wanted to grope her ass, but the situation felt awkward.
“Let’s go back.”
The mood had shifted. I carried Yoo Dahui up the stairs. Elena was waiting at the entrance to the 3rd floor’s underground dungeon.
“Dahui-ssi?”
“……”
To Elena, it hadn’t been more than a few minutes. But in that short time, Yoo Dahui’s attitude had completely changed. She glared at Elena and stayed silent, refusing to answer any of her questions. It was like a baby kitten hissing.
“You must be tired from the trial. Come on up.”
Our eyes met. Elena didn’t say anything and just hugged me protectively. She knew I didn’t want to be disturbed right now. We made our way up in silence—through the 2nd and 1st underground floors—until we reached the surface. The random monsters we encountered were no trouble at all. The outside world was bathed in bright sunlight. It had felt intense inside the dungeon, but maybe it was just my imagination.
We passed through the eastern gate and headed toward the Red Hair Mercenary Group’s guild house. Yoo Dahui stayed on my back the whole way, rubbing against me and clinging tightly. She was basically causing a scene.
“Dahui-ya, we’re here.”
“Mmm…”
I set her down in front of the guild house. She wobbled off my back. After safely helping her down, I reached for the door handle to enter. Just as I was about to step inside—
“…Jinwoo-ya.”
Yoo Dahui grabbed my sleeve. Her voice was barely above a whisper—I almost didn’t hear it. When I turned, she looked like she had something to say.
I sent Elena and Isilia inside first.
“What?”
Yoo Dahui looked at me, tears already starting to well up again. Her face, which I had only just calmed, was now flooded with them.
“Why are you doing this again… What exactly was that trial?”
“I’ll never tell you.”
Yoo Dahui sniffled loudly. Why is she so clingy?
“Fine, just one promise.”
Without knowing her own appearance, Yoo Dahui took my finger and wrapped her own pinky around it like she was making a vow.
“No matter what happens, you won’t abandon me, right?”
Her trembling shoulders looked heartbreaking. How long had she suffered in that trial for her to become this fragile?
I locked my pinky with hers and promised.
“I won’t abandon you. How could I ever get rid of you?”
“Please… don’t abandon me…”
Yoo Dahui wobbled into my arms. Thump. Thump. Once her strength gave out, she fell asleep.
Strange… I wanted to see her memories. She should’ve been a regressor. But the situation didn’t allow for normal regression.
