Chapter 17
CHAPTER_TITLE: Field Boss (2)
Whiteface, Baek Seon-woo.
He may look young, but he’s no kid. After all, he ran away from home on the sly when he was still of age, and everyone knows it.
In the novel, Yoo Dahui had been waiting for Baek Seon-woo for a long time. She’d completely forgotten the original plan to just use him and toss him aside. They’d spent so many years together, and at some point… they even slept together. In the dark room, on the creaking futon, Yoo Dahui thought to herself.
Small…
Even with the regression restoring her virginity, the Null Pain Aversion Charm made it meaningless. The only mental comfort she got from the men who helped her—limited to this one regression—was the feeling of having given her virginity to a boyfriend. The real pleasure, the one that mattered most to Yoo Dahui, had to come from herself. That’s why relationships that didn’t suit her sexually ended right after the regression. It wasn’t easy to keep going once she lost interest. Baek Seon-woo was just another one of those failures.
—Kihahahaha! Weak? Me?
Darknight laughed like he’d heard the funniest joke in the world. The guy looked completely insane, but his spirit was undeniable. The sheer overwhelming feeling of dominance just poured off him.
“What’s long, what’s short? You’ll see soon enough.”
—He’ll never know. The dead can’t speak, can’t think.
“Just come at me then.”
Baek Seon-woo muttered indifferently. The sword in his hand was crude iron, but it gleamed with a sharpness that could cut anything.
Uuuuwoong—
The air around Darknight vibrated violently. A black current of energy gathered around him.
Whoa—
An overwhelming pressure crushed down on her entire body. It felt like her body had grown heavier.
“Kkuek…”
“Why, Dahui?”
Yoo Dahui bit back the weight, scowling. Right beside her, Kang Hana stood completely untouched, perfectly calm.
As expected of the strongest player on Floor 0 right now. The moment they stepped onto Floor 1, she’d get a guild offer. Kang Hana wouldn’t even need any adaptation process.
“Empty carts sure are loud. You sure are loud too.”
—Shut your damn mouth!
Darknight swung his club. Baek Seon-woo’s sword moved in perfect sync. The attack was blocked too easily.
—Seoreuk—!
—Kkuek…!
Just one strike. One strike and the field boss was dead. Baek Seon-woo chopped Darknight down as if he were cutting through a head of cabbage.
That was it.
Me… me…
Darknight’s upper body collapsed. His lower body followed, crashing to the ground. The severed parts turned to dust and vanished.
“What? You were the field boss? This is way too easy.”
Baek Seon-woo stared at the empty air and muttered.
Ring—!
“Field Boss Hunt Rewards are being calculated…”
“10 coins acquired!”
“Tutorial has been cleared.”
A portal opened where Darknight had stood. A glowing blue portal. The instant you stepped through, you’d wake up in the Academy on Floor 1.
Time dilation meant that everyone who passed later would arrive at the same moment as those who passed earlier. Still, the players waiting on Floor 1 would look at you differently depending on your clear rank.
“You three there.”
As Baek Seon-woo prepared to step through the portal, he glanced in our direction. He was checking to make sure we were there.
It doesn’t feel like any killing intent…
The voice came from right behind us. There was nothing in front of the portal.
Baek Seon-woo moved faster than sight. He appeared behind us—right behind Yoo Dahui.
Yoo Dahui froze solid.
What snapped her out of it was the boy’s stupidly excited gasp.
“Waah, waah, waaah…”
Yoo Dahui turned and their eyes met. Baek Seon-woo fell head over heels at first sight. Yoo Dahui knew exactly what that flushed, excited look on a man’s face meant. She wasn’t even the main heroine in the novel, yet there was still something about her that drove men crazy. Even someone from outside the story got hard just looking at her. Imagine how much it affected the characters inside.
That’s why he had to get strong. To protect what’s his from the arrogant side characters.
I hate NTR. I don’t want to lose what’s mine.
When you read the novel on screen, you didn’t care if the main heroine Yoo Dahui was sleeping with someone or not. In fact, you enjoyed the show. It was that kind of story.
But now I was summoned into this world. One wrong move and the main heroine could be bouncing on some other guy’s dick.
I could never watch Yoo Dahui with some other guy. So I wore a mask. I raped her. For my first time.
Given her personality, the moment the mask guy showed up, romance wouldn’t even enter her brain.
Just like in the novel—once you’re summoned to the top of the Tower of Struggle, it’s only natural. Watching her and getting off while killing those bastards who tried to hit on her was just an added bonus.
“What is your name?”
“…It’s Yoo Dahui.”
Yoo Dahui answered with obvious distaste. She knew he was far stronger than her, so she didn’t want to provoke him.
“Ah, Miss Yoo. You are Miss Yoo?”
Baek Seon-woo twisted his body shyly, the picture of an awkward adolescent boy.
A guy like that made me want to slap him across the face. Of course, if he tried to grab her, my head would fly off first. I’d just have to endure it.
“Miss Yoo… have you seen anything?”
“Seen what?”
“The guy I just killed. He was called the field boss.”
—Ugh—
The voice belonged to a boy, but the words came out of an old man’s mouth. Yoo Dahui’s eyebrows furrowed in disgust.
The creepy old-man speech gave Baek Seon-woo an intense look, as if he was secretly enjoying it.
The courtship continued. It felt even more repulsive than in the novel. Pure hatred was written all over his face.
Another strange change. The mask-guy rape seemed to be working its magic, because she felt better.
“Hey. You don’t like Dahui, right? Stop.”
Kang Hana stepped in and stopped Baek Seon-woo. Even though he was a hikikomori, when it came to hunting he was ruthless.
Hero job sickness, maybe?
“Hah…”
Baek Seon-woo retreated a step thanks to Kang Hana and then glared at her before lowering his head. His eyes were glued to her huge breasts.
Hmm…
…?
Yoo Dahui narrowed her eyes and stared at him like she was interrogating a suspect.
Those flushed ears. She’d obviously fallen hard for the villainess’s dangerous charm. No man could ignore those voluptuous breasts.
That’s weird.
This guy wasn’t supposed to be one-sided like in the novel.
“What is your name?”
Baek Seon-woo asked Kang Hana’s name without a care.
“It’s Kang Hana…”
“I am Baek Seon-woo. In my original world I was called the Heaven Shattering Sword Saint.”
He swept his eyes over Kang Hana’s chest like a hungry animal. Why did he even swallow saliva? His eyeballs were rolling like crazy. That lewd gaze made Kang Hana instinctively cover her breasts.
Regeneration? He just couldn’t shake off the youthful face. In a good way, he was a young-looking guy.
Since he was younger than me anyway, it didn’t matter.
“What about me? Don’t you ask?”
“…You have no manners.”
“Suddenly?”
—Fruhp…!
Yoo Dahui covered her mouth and barely swallowed her laughter. She looked at Baek Seon-woo with a smile still lingering at the corner of her lips.
“Miss Yoo, are you Miss Kang’s bodyguard?”
“What?”
“You look pretty weak for a bodyguard.”
Yeah. That was Baek Seon-woo for you. A man who was endlessly hostile to other men.
When Yoo Dahui was one-sided, he’d seemed cute. But now that she knew he was the type who stabbed everyone from every direction, it looked completely different.
“…I’m not her bodyguard. I’m her partner.”
“Kuh. Partner…? Where do you get off, manga protagonist?”
He said it seriously. But Yoo Dahui was laughing right beside me, so I lost all my momentum.
“Really? If you’re Miss Kang’s partner, then… I guess there’s no need to know your name.”
With that, Baek Seon-woo completely dropped his interest in me. Pure arrogance.
“A portal has opened. If you pass through that, you can head to Floor 1.”
“Ah…”
“Miss Kang, Miss Yoo. How about it? Won’t you come with me?”
Baek Seon-woo was the type who dreamed of building a harem. From Yoo Dahui’s point of view, she hadn’t felt any of that at all.
“…It’s not time yet.”
Yoo Dahui shook her head. Her tone was firm, like she had things left to do.
“Really? Miss Kang is…?”
“I don’t want to go up right now either.”
Puh!
I laughed loudly at the two of them, who had just been slapped down by Baek Seon-woo.
Baek Seon-woo’s face turned red as he glared at me.
Eh?
I felt killing intent.
I didn’t think he was the type to just lash out like that, but…
Suddenly Baek Seon-woo spun around and walked straight toward the portal.
—You better watch your neck.
The voice sounded directly in my brain. Before stepping through to Floor 1, he gave me a quiet warning. That damn tight-assed bastard.
