Chapter Title: A-Young's LoL Talent
-----------------------------------------------------------------
“A PC bang?”
Choi A-young pondered the suggestion for a moment.
She had never once in her life crossed the threshold of a PC bang.
To her, a PC bang was a strange, alien, and utterly unknown space.
“Well, sure. Let’s go.”
After some deliberation, Choi A-young nodded in agreement.
Truth be told, she wasn’t all that enthusiastic about the idea. An arcade appealed to her much more.
But Jin-seong seemed keen on visiting a PC bang, so she happily gave her okay.
“Welcome.”
The interior of the cafe was quiet. A part-timer who looked like a college girl greeted them at the counter.
They grabbed their seats.
‘It’s been a while.’
How long had it been? Three months?
He used to drop by these places pretty often before.
But ever since getting the Era of Success system, his life had been a nonstop hustle—he had no mental bandwidth left for PC bangs.
His extreme dieting had entirely consumed him; the idea of gaming hadn’t even crossed his mind.
‘Ahh, this cool, weighty feel of the mouse... it's been way too long.’
Jin-seong turned and asked,
“Do you have a game you want to play?”
“Nope? Oppa, you pick.”
Choi A-young knew absolutely zilch about video games.
Jin-seong crossed his arms in thought.
What game could he play with A-young? It needed to be something she would dig, and something that would be fun for both of them.
‘MapleStory is kind of meh for a duo...’
StarCraft felt a bit too guy-centric for most girls.
‘Dungeon Fighter fits my style, but...’
FIFA absolutely screamed "dudes only."
‘LoL it is. It's perfect for playing together.’
League of Legends.
LoL for short.
It was the undisputed king of PC bang occupancy.
“How about LoL?”
“I don't know it, but okay.”
“LoL is just as fun as Tekken—maybe even more in certain spots. It only bums you out when your teammates start with their momma-drama in the chat, but it's super addictive otherwise.”
“Ohh.”
This doesn't seem exciting at all. Tekken was boring too. LoL probably won't be fun either.
They logged into their LoL accounts.
“Should we play a 1v1 practice match first, and then do some normal games?”
“Sure.”
He gave her a quick rundown of the controls.
“Q, W, E, and R are your main skills. R is your ultimate. D and F are your summoner spells. And 1 through 6 are for your items.”
“Ohh.”
They loaded into a 1v1 match.
“What champ do you want to play?”
“Hmm... I want...”
Choi A-young slowly scrolled through the roster of champions.
“Ahri.”
Her decision was made.
“Whoa! Ahri? That's a solid pick!”
“She’s so pretty. She looks super charming.”
“Totally. Ahri is gorgeous and mega alluring.”
Choi A-young, who had been gazing at her monitor, flicked her eyes over to Jin-seong.
“Is Ahri really that pretty?”
Their eyes locked.
“Huh? Uh...?”
Jin-seong froze like a block of ice.
The sweet, gentle A-young he knew? She was entirely gone.
She now wore an unhappy face and was giving him a frosty glare.
Feeling upset.
He hasn't called me pretty even once today...
I want him to say A-young is pretty, not some video game character.
Her jealousy was as plain as day.
She was clearly hurt that he had praised Ahri's looks but skipped over hers.
“Oppa, who’s prettier? Ahri? Or A-youngie?”
“Duh, you’re prettier, A-young. It's no contest—you’re a hundred, a thousand times hotter.”
“For real? A-youngie is way prettier than Ahri?”
“Yeah.”
A-young’s sharp edge immediately dulled.
A satisfied smile spread across her face.
She was right back to being the kind, gentle, sweet, and warm A-young.
‘I must never praise anyone else’s looks around A-young again.’
‘I gotta compliment her beauty nonstop.’
The game was on.
Welcome to Summoner's Rift.
It was a 1v1.
“The top lane is top, the mid lane is mid, and the bot lane is bot. Just head mid.”
“Yup.”
It was Jin-seong’s Fizz versus A-young’s Ahri in a mid lane clash.
“You need to last-hit the minions. Use your auto-attack if you can, or use a skill if the timing is tight.”
“Yup yup.”
“That's LoL’s basic premise. Maximize your farm, maximize your dodges, and maximize landing your skills. That's it, you're done.”
“Ohh.”
Her Ahri poked a minion.
It dealt tiny damage.
Ahri danced from side to side, waiting for the minion's HP to drop.
When only a sliver of health was left...
Poke.
She secured the last hit. CS +1.
Poke. Poke. Poke.
Poke. Poke. Poke.
With every single poke? Her CS went up.
She didn't miss a single one.
It was incredibly smooth.
Her Ahri had zero misses.
“You can use your skills, too.”
“Gotcha.”
She started using a skill and auto-attack combo to hunt the minions.
Five minutes passed.
Zero misses.
Ten minutes passed, and it was exactly the same.
Fifteen minutes passed, and there was absolutely no difference.
“This is super easy. I just do the math of Ahri’s AD against the minion’s HP, and poke at the right time—it's a piece of cake.”
“...”
Jin-seong was speechless.
“My items bumped up my AD, and my levels did too—getting CS just smooths out over time.”
“...”
He couldn’t shut his mouth.
‘This is insane. She has god-tier talent. I’d have missed dozens by now... she’s completely perfect...’
They engaged in a 1v1 brawl.
His Fizz used his E skill to dash at her Ahri.
-Hyap!
Fizz swung for an auto-attack.
Her Ahri cast her R for a quick escape—smoothly dodging his auto.
-Pak!
Her Ahri returned an auto-attack on his Fizz.
-Shark!!
Fizz fired his ultimate in a straight shot.
Her Ahri sidestepped it. It looked completely effortless.
It was pure, unadulterated mechanics.
-Kwa-jik!!
After her Ahri sidestepped, she charged right back.
She dove in.
His Fizz had no dodges left. He couldn't run.
Fizz lunged at Ahri with his E.
-R.
A-young tapped R. Her Ahri stepped back.
She easily dodged his E.
-Pak!
Ahri landed an auto-attack.
-Paak!
Her skill landed directly.
-Pak!
She hit him with an auto-attack again.
Fizz’s HP was trickling down fast.
‘I have no choice.’
He couldn’t let it end like this.
His Fizz initiated a desperate flash dive.
Her Ahri used her ultimate to dodge him yet again.
Ahri executed a flawless combo: an auto-attack, into a charm, another auto, her returning orb, and a final auto-attack.
His Fizz ate the full combo.
-Hwaruk!
-Kkeuaaaak!
“...”
Jin-seong was completely silenced.
“Noobie♡”
A-young gave him a languid smile.
“I'm not the noob—you’re just cracked.”
“Noobie♡”
“Sigh, yeah. I'm just a noob weakling pig here.”
A-young burst out laughing.
“Seriously though, you're the actual newbie, so why are you playing like such a goated veteran?”
They queued up for a normal game.
A match was quickly found.
Jin-seong locked in jungle Lee Sin. A-young picked her mid Ahri.
“A-young, always keep track of the enemy jungler's pathing. If you push your lane too hard, you'll die to a gank.”
“Yesss.”
“Make sure to ward smartly. Vision equals information, which lets you predict their moves.”
The laning phase started.
“Hah, damn it...”
His early game was completely wrecked. The enemy Graves was ganking nonstop. Jin-seong had his jungle camps stolen and ended up giving away a kill.
He was fuming.
Jungle gank
Jungle gank pls
Gank come already
Darius overextending
Can kill if you come
His Lee Sin was right in the middle of clearing a camp when his top laner started pinging for a gank.
OK, finishing jungle then top
Hold a sec
Graves has kill, strong—play safe
He had barely replied—and his top laner immediately died.
Ah fml;; jungle wtf?
I said come?
Jungle diff huge fml
Losing cuz jungle.
Jungle got no momma?
No momma2?
Chanyeon origin? Born serving booze n balls?
It was absolutely infuriating.
Soon enough, their bot lane crumbled as well.
Jungle wtf
No ganks??
Jungle diff bad;;
Absolute trash.
It was unfair as fuck.
The bot lane had never even pinged for help. There hadn't been any enemy ganks down there either. It was a pure skill gap, yet they were blindly blaming others.
Trembling with rage, Jin-seong bit his lip hard.
Chat toxic af;;
Blame game cringe
Mute on. GG.
No ganks. Play well.
He fully muted the team chat.
And then—
Ally (Ahri) has slain an enemy (Fizz)!
The mid lane victory chime rang out.
Ally (Ahri) has slain an enemy (Graves)!
The victory chime rang out yet again.
Ally (Ahri) has slain an enemy (Blitzcrank)!
Jin-seong quickly checked on her Ahri.
She had scored a solo triple kill.
Her HP was still at 80%.
Her MP was at 40%.
Her Ignite was used up.
Her Flash was still up.
She was in absolute prime shape.
She had plenty of gold to base, but she kept farming instead. She raided the enemy jungle hard and chipped away at the mid turret.
Ally (Ahri) has slain an enemy (Fizz)!
The full-HP enemy Fizz had barely gotten back to lane—and her Ahri snatched his soul right away.
She cleared the minion wave and proudly returned to base.
Ahri wtf?
Why so good??
Dead no counterplay;;
Pro? Hack? Mechanics??
Dodges all, lands all??
Jin-seong glanced over at A-young.
Her Ahri was constantly hustling.
She farmed perfectly. She pulled off jungle invades. She warded deep and accurately read the enemy's pathing.
What was even more insane was that she was actively identifying the enemy's lane skills and analyzing their playstyles on the fly.
Her Ahri was an absolute monster.
She committed total massacres. She suffered zero CS loss. She turned the enemy jungle into a deserted wasteland and razed their towers to the ground.
‘Amazing.’
Jin-seong was completely overwhelmed by A-young’s level of play.
‘This is truly incredible.’
It was an astounding, godly talent.
‘It's totally nuts.’
A-young’s hard solo carry effortlessly sealed the win for their team.
‘If A-young got into gaming... as a pro, a streamer, or a YouTuber? She would absolutely crush it. She would blow up big time.’
