Unexpected Streamer Server Invite
Why were the viewers increasing? "Streamer server... Honestly, I don't know much about games, so I'm not sure what it is... but since you invited me, it would be weird not to go."
You have to be polite on stream. If it were meeting in real life, maybe not, but with me and Suihwa—or rather, 'Karin'—we'd only crossed paths once by chance before, and there wasn't much connection since. Using casual speech would actually be the weird thing here.
"I don't play games much, but when I do, I do. Minecraft isn't a hard game anyway."
If it were some other tough game, maybe, but something like Minecraft was fine. It was famous for easy controls, after all. 'No wonder even elementary kids play it.' There aren't really any hard-to-control games popular with kids. Those would've died out already.
I'll give you the invite code right away if you're in.
Hmm. Refusing wouldn't be polite. I had to do it. But first, something to ask.
"Once I'm in the server, I don't have to actively chat or anything, right?"
I glanced at the chat reactions—it seemed I didn't need to mingle just to build connections. What a relief. I told Karin,
"I'll wrap up today's stream quick, then hop into that streamer server? Thanks for the invite."
Come in slow haha
"Yep."
Once I confirmed Karin had left, I started consulting with my regular viewers.
"Ugh, I never imagined getting invited to something like this—it caught me totally off guard."
I hated taking anything from Suihwa without giving something back, so she probably did it through the stream to make it hard for me to refuse. Otherwise, no reason to go this far.
'You could just chat it out— no need to donate.'
Anyway.
"I legit know nothing about that game. Sure, I've seen playthroughs on YouTube or whatever... but I have zero clue how to play."
I really knew zilch. I'd never played. Sure, I'm an otaku, but not all otakus game. Plenty don't even care about games.
"I'm the type who dives deep into one thing and sticks to it. Hard to get into games. Feels like a waste of time, y'know."
Gaming time? Better spent reading manga.
"I'll drop the Horizon Gate review first, then maybe join the Minecraft server."
Anime reviews came first right now.
A decent crowd had gathered for the anime review.
"Finally invited him..."
The viewers had no idea about my relationship with Oppa, so it might seem random. Even if I'd unintentionally messed up her stream, 100 subs more than covered it. Not a huge mistake.
But there was a slight ulterior motive.
'...If I help on stream, Oppa can't refuse.' He'd turn down personal gifts, but he couldn't stop stream donations or invites. That's why I did it during broadcasts.
"I've watched your streams occasionally since then, and the content's totally my taste. Figured you'd enjoy the streamer server without freaking out, so I invited you. Plus, I don't have many streamer friends worth using an invite on anyway."
"Sigh, what's this MuteGirl crap. I talked as much as I could that time."
I do clam up a bit with unfamiliar people... but I don't go totally silent in collabs. I just drop comments situationally.
Main reason for joining the Minecraft streamer server was lack of prepared content, but I also wanted to chat more with other streamers this time.
'Streaming solo is fine...' But it felt like I wouldn't hit my goals that way. There were limits to going alone.
With those thoughts, I logged into the streamer server.
"Phew... hope I don't say anything dumb."
gl, no real ties to cut anyway lol
Vowing not to screw up.
After finishing the Horizon Gate review, I installed the Minecraft Suihwa mentioned. Cost: 30,000 won.
"Sigh. My money."
"What's API?"
I messaged the admin ID Suihwa sent privately.
[What's API link admin?]
Reply came quick.
[Share screen and I'll guide you.]
Followed admin's instructions, shared screen, and called.
—Ah, can you hear me?
"Yeah, loud and clear."
"Admin said they'd help, so I called. One sec."
To be safe, I blanked the stream screen. Didn't want anything private leaking.
—First connect to server, tweak settings there? I'll DM Discord link—try this for now?
"Sure."
Fiddled with settings as instructed. Click click.
How long had I been messing around? "Ah, is it done?"
—System says yes... hold on.
While standing blankly in the server...
Test donation. See the bun?
Checked inventory per admin—
"Oh, it's here."
Bun confirmed. But what for?
Oh right. Forgot.
"One sec."
Apologized briefly and unblanked. Minecraft screen went live on stream. Felt novel. First time gaming on stream, first time playing Minecraft ever. Movement was kinda magical?
As I thought that—
—Uh, what? New here?
A stranger chatted me up. Hmm. Voice sounded familiar.
'...' Who?
Couldn't place it, so I replied, "Yeah. Came via invite."
—Ah, got it. I'm Seri, the farmer here. Nice to meet ya.
Ah. Seri—clicked. The guy who commissioned my first YouTube thumbnail after Yuu's advice. Instant inner closeness.
