Legendary Broadcast Chaos
I'd originally planned to pause the stream briefly and quickly handle things with Komai Rito, but I figured I needed more time to get closer to Yuu first, so I turned the stream on.
> Stream has started.
Since the stream had already caught on that I was with Yuu anyway, doing it together seemed like it'd be fun. 'Yuu's face is pretty famous, but hardly anyone knows her voice since she barely talks.'
She seemed keen on joining from the start anyway. That's why the stream title was a bit provocative.
Local Japanese Spills on Moruk VS Crimson – Let's Settle It Today, GG
It wasn't just anyone—it was Kashio Yuu. And the manga featuring Moruk and Crimson was still being serialized by her master, Komai Rito. That's the work that earned Rito his status as a living legend.
Man.
'Never thought I'd end up collaborating on that series.'
It still felt surreal. I'd just been uploading naughty sketches on X-Net as a hobby, and that caught the eye of Rito—who hates Korea with a passion—and now here I was, handling the single-volume covers and merch designs.
Anyway.
> Viewer count: 182
Not even much time had passed since I started, but a ton of viewers had piled in already.
"You guys came out in force."
The title was definitely clickbait gold. 'I wasn't even trying to pull aggro.' It just came up naturally while chatting with Yuu about Crimson and Moruk, so I slapped it on without thinking. But it drew way more attention than expected. Not even 10 minutes in, and over 150 viewers? Made me think the stream was blowing up lately as I said,
"My buddy from last time dropped by again today, so we're gonna chat some anime while she's here."
Agh. Typical dudebros, am I right? "Why you all chasing girls? Didn't you miss me?"
I'd just called the viewers dudebros, but thinking about it, I'd probably do the same. My voice is always there whenever I stream anyway.
And right then.
"Hellooo~!!"
Yuu popped in from the side. The chat exploded instantly.
Was this really a stream with only 200 viewers? From what I'd seen before, no matter how many viewers, only a set number actually chat—but right now, it felt like all 200 were spamming.
'This is what one-person-army means.'
I'd been doing otaku talk streams regularly, getting viewers into the chat habit. Even meaningless spam kept it alive nonstop.
With that in mind, we dove into a real debate on Crimson and Moruk.
"Last time I thought it was even, but thinking back now, I feel like Moruk's got the edge."
Should I say it? After some agonizing... yeah, better to speak my truth here. 'Moruk winning is canon anyway.' No official word from Rito yet, so I couldn't say for sure.
But then.
"Um... I think Crimson is definitely stronger..."
Yuu chimed in hesitantly. Her eyes were dead serious—she really believed Crimson would win.
I was about to counter when—
"Huh?"
The chat got spammed out of nowhere. What the hell? Looked like fans from a streamer starting with 'Ka'—maybe 'Katsu-something'—or another fandom doing a friendly raid. Hard to tell, so I paused to assess—
The chat turned to shit in seconds. Viewer count skyrocketed too.
> Viewer count: 672
And that 'Karin' they kept mentioning... no way it was Suihwa, right? She wouldn't even know I was streaming.
My brain throbbed from the info overload.
"...Glad you all showed up, but ease up on mentioning other streamers. We were having a chill stream, and that spam freaks out the regulars."
Hmm. Letting this slide would just keep the shitshow going. Time for a decision.
> Chat restricted: Followers 2+ weeks only
I tweaked the settings to only let followers of 2+ weeks chat. Moments later.
"Why's everyone gone quiet?"
No chats at all. Viewers kept climbing toward 1k, but dead silence.
Pondering that—
"Oh."
Right. My channel's barely 2 weeks old. Finally hit me.
"Sorry everyone. Chat got messy so I switched it up on impulse."
Good thing I caught it quick. Almost streamed like that.
As I clicked to revert the settings—
Follower chat settings can only be changed once per hour.
"...Fuck."
I just bluescreened.
* Yujin oppa streaming with some Japanese guy I'd never seen him with before was already unbelievable, but my viewers raiding and causing chaos? My brain just froze harder. So I rushed to apologize with a donation and dip out... but what the hell is this?
"What the..."
Couldn't even donate properly since chat was locked—donos work, but no messages without chat open. And bailing with just a dono felt irresponsible.
That setting meant an hour wait to normalize. Total disaster.
'My viewers trashed another stream—can't just dono and ghost.'
And it wasn't some rando—it was someone I knew super well. We'd talked yesterday. Hell, maybe the closest person in my life. Super awkward.
What to do? Last resort time? Hated checking phone mid-stream.
"Haa..."
Sighed and messaged Yujin oppa.
I always tried to be extra nice to oppa, and now this massive fuckup. Crushing guilt. Regretting the stream raid now—
"This is insane... Guys, please don't do this. I'm begging. This is rough."
I whined to the viewers without thinking. Dammit, shouldn't. Minecraft grind had my mental already shaky, and this was drilling straight to my core. Gotta pull it together.
As my sanity slipped—
Ding! A reply came in.
