Hobby Stream: Otaku Rants and Pirate Purges
My hobby stream had one big advantage: sure, you could geek out over anime anywhere, but there weren't many places where someone drew high-level illustrations on theme while chatting. "It's just rough sketches anyway—no way anyone spots my style." The art I posted on X-Net was all hyper-detailed, pervy stuff. So while rambling about anime, flashing these quick doodles meant zero risk of anyone clocking my style.
Everyone knew it, but Yuu had a serious rebel streak. She absolutely hated going along with what people expected.
"Yeah, I figured with her rebellious nature it'd happen, but she looks so betrayer-coded it still shocked me a bit."
I said that while sketching a new character beside her—the one from Komai Rito's work, the guy who'd finally acknowledged me. Yellow-haired dude always chomping a cig, kick specialist.
"So every time I see a lion head, I think of Shandel. Thought he was a traitor too, but nah, loyal bro."
"Hey now, don't diss Shandel Ham who kicks up to just shy of emperor level."
I could overlook trash-talk on other characters, but not Shandel. He was my absolute fave. Kicks only? Badass. My first Sino post was a genderbent Shandel pic. Loved the guy that much.
We kept bullshitting about anime, and before I knew it, viewers had spiked.
Not a sudden rush—steady climb, so word must've spread somewhere. Or evening boredom had folks hunting streams.
"Anyway, any good manga lately? Haven't kept up—hit me with recs."
I used to devour comics down to the dregs, but no fresh bangers lately, interest waning, so I'd quit deep dives a while back.
I glanced at chat while thinking that.
Lots of ongoing Korean manga titles popped up. But problem:
"...Seen 'em all. Anything else?"
I'd binged them. Even if I quit deep sea dives, serialization cycles meant I knew most stuff.
"Yeah, all of 'em. Purchase history right here."
Ink Stage had every receipt—Japanese manga specialist platform.
"Eh, pirating... can't stop it entirely, so whatever. But flaunt it? Permaban."
If I were pro, no perma on a 34-viewer chat contributor. But hobby stream. Bored vacation fun. Annoying? Gone.
Chat speed was insane for 34 viewers—like 13 constant posters. I'd seen streams, but still.
"Folks who spam that crap later shitpost communities maliciously? Whatever, don't care. Flame away there. No lawsuits."
Simple reason: leniency cuts backhanded snipes. Sue threats? More sneaky jabs.
'Backhands gross me out more.' Tailing Suihwa in Japan with a camera taught me: sly digs uglier than direct flames. Slimy.
"Vent? Do it there. Not here. Instant ban."
Quick PSA done, back to otaku rants.
The next day.
"Hm?"
A totally new kind of inquiry had hit my X-Net DMs.
