The Queen's Whisper
Deep in the sewers, a musty stench assaulted my nose. I checked the map in my hand. During the Black Moon in the sewers, three doors labeled J, Q, and K spawned randomly. These three zombies were linked. Killing one made the remaining two stronger, killing two made the last one the strongest. The reward depended on which one you took out last. The one I needed to finish was J, which meant dealing with Q first. Q was the strongest of the trio.
I walked through the dark sewers with Yoon Seoyeon. Rotting water sloshed up to our ankles, squelching with every step. Finally, we stood before a massive iron door. Red letters above it read 'Q'.
Yoon Seoyeon gripped her baseball bat tighter. "Boss room, right? Ready to fight."
I nodded. "Yeah. But I'm going in alone."
Her eyebrows furrowed slightly. "Why? Am I not helping enough...?" She muttered, dropping her gaze like it hurt.
I listened quietly. "...Honestly, back then and even getting here, I keep thinking maybe you don't need to be around."
Her voice grew smaller. "Like I'm just dragging you down..."
I watched her emotions flare. I flicked her forehead lightly.
-Thwack!
"Ow!" Even though it was light, she clutched her forehead with both hands, tears welling up as she glared at me.
"That's not it. Only one person can enter here."
Her sudden intensity turned to embarrassment, and she stammered, flustered. "Th-then say so quicker!"
In this kill-or-be-killed world, her reactions sometimes made me chuckle. I thought about her as I looked. The one who saved me at the convenience store, who trusted my risky plans, cared for my mental state, stepped up when I couldn't solve a problem, preemptively fixed things so I wouldn't feel awkward. That was all Yoon Seoyeon. She didn't seem to realize it.
Before opening the door, I told her, "You're helping plenty. So don't beat yourself up."
Satisfied, she crossed her arms and turned her head slightly. "...You better not get hurt either."
I smiled faintly and waved instead of speaking. Then I entered the Q boss room.
The door slammed shut, revealing a vast space. At the end of marble stairs sat a throne forged in gold. A woman lounged there, exuding domineering aura and elegant poise in her dark red robes, legs crossed as she looked down at me. Beside the throne leaned a greatsword twice her size.
Sensing me, she rose slowly.
-Clack, clack.
Her descending footsteps carried both grace and intimidation. Then—
Her form vanished like evaporating mist.
"...!"
A kick slammed into me from point-blank range. I reflexively raised my arms to block.
-Crack!
Bones grinding like they might shatter—I flew through a pillar and crashed into the wall.
-Cough!
Spitting blood, I lifted my head. A system window tinted my vision.
She vanished again. Then—her fist appeared before me, unleashing a barrage like a gatling gun.
-Thud! Thud! Thud!
A bombardment close to an airstrike. I couldn't dodge anyway. I activated [Gravity 8x] to boost defense, shielding my face with my arms. Eyes tracking her alone, like a hyena stalking prey.
Overhead kick. My body launched into the air, slamming the wall again. Drained, I slumped against it, trembling.
Approaching, she reached toward the throne. The massive greatsword flew to her hand like a magnet. She hefted the blade twice her size one-handed and closed in.
I eyed her again. New info registered.
Trait: Heavy Sword (Legendary)
I narrowed my eyes. Legendary zombies and up had traits.
"...Fuck, she's strong."
I muttered, head bowed. She loomed over me, slowly raising the greatsword. Red energy rippled along the blade like waves.
Precursor to [Trait: Heavy Sword].
Head down, I glanced at my wristwatch and smirked. Her blade descended.
-BOOM!!
Storm-like shockwave devoured the space. But—
The sword never reached me. An invisible force blocked it.
Simultaneously, an alert flooded my vision.
Ending Black Moon event.
White light enveloped me. In that instant—
A whisper at my ear.
-'...My friend.'
Faint, like a slip, but clear in my mind. '...My old friend'. Human speech from a zombie's mouth. Undeniable.
The light fully consumed me, returning me to the abandoned factory entrance. Yoon Seoyeon was behind me.
Seeing my injuries, she freaked. "What happened? Why are you hurt like that?!"
Her voice didn't register. I muttered to myself, "…Did she speak?"
NPCs could talk, sure, but zombies? Not even in the game. Endgame bosses were mute. An eerie dissonance filled my head.
Yoon Seoyeon grabbed my face, furious. "You didn't say it'd be this bad!"
I downed a prepped potion. Wounds healing somewhat, I chuckled dryly. "Didn't expect her that strong. But we got back as planned, right?"
She glared, still pissed. "…So what was worth getting wrecked for?"
"Had to check her level."
Like the sewers, reality diverged too much from the game. We headed straight back to the studio apartment.
On the way, I recalled the 'Queen's' words. Sorrow tinged that voice.
After Kim Geon and Yoon Seoyeon left, Kim Miyeon sighed more often. Before they departed, scenes of them tangled replayed endlessly. Yoon Seoyeon's sticky moans and the lewd slap of flesh filled the room. Even eyes closed, the vivid images dominated her mind.
Married and post-childbirth, she hadn't felt sexual liberation in nearly 20 years. Pent-up desire coiled around her, body heating unbidden. Sweat beaded, slickness spreading from her soaked core.
Lee Seoyul beside her fared the same—flushed face, ragged breaths. In the same space, unnoticed by each other, their scents saturated the air, obvious to any outsider.
Later, when Kim Geon explained the Black Moon, Kim Miyeon barely heard. Her gaze fixed on him: towering over 180cm, broad shoulders, thick chest, ripped arms peeking from his tank top. Just picturing it reignited the heat. Heart pounding, core clenching, thighs rubbing unconsciously.
Back at the studio, our routine simplified. Morning workouts, afternoon zombie hunts. We caught up on Lee Seoyul's intel in between. One big change: overflowing ingredients thanks to my Zone trait let Miyeon noona cook.
And fuck… it was delicious. Kimchi jjigae in the apocalypse? One spoonful nearly brought tears.
My fussing over the meal drew Yoon Seoyeon's side-eye between me and Miyeon noona. She nodded oddly, eating. Miyeon noona blushed at my reaction, head bowed shyly.
It was morning when Kim Miyeon headed to Yoon Seoyeon's studio for breakfast. There, she caught Kim Geon shirtless mid-workout. Broad shoulders, solid pecs, smooth obliques flowing to defined abs. Her face burned; she swallowed hard. Toes curled, hips twitched involuntarily.
Alone after they left, doing laundry, she spotted his sweat-soaked T-shirt. Knowing better, her fingers brushed it. A predatory smile tugged her lips, like a beast scenting prey.
Pressing it to her nose, inhaling—his musk hit her bloodstream straight to the brain.
"Ngh… haa…"
Electric jolts raced through her; hot fluid trickled down her thighs. Hand slipped under her top, into her bra, caressing the firm, budding nipple. Another shock.
"Hii… ahn…"
Breaths quickened, grip tightening on the shirt. Finally, pinching the peak hard between thumb and forefinger.
Oxygen scarce, shirt stayed glued to her nose. Long-denied pleasure surged intensely. Growing accustomed, her hand sped up—climax hit, head thrown back, one eye half-lidded, body shuddering.
"Aaaang!!♡ Cumming…!!♡"
Hips bucked air, craving more; fingers drifted lower to the persistent itch—
Kim Geon's voice echoed from the hall.
Kim Miyeon scrambled, checked her pants—drenched. Hurriedly stripped, tossed them in the hamper, hid in the shower. But under the spray, her core throbbed. Mirror showed not sated fullness, but a starving beast's hunger.
