Killing Zombies
“Clang!” The villa’s security iron gate suddenly swung open. Xiao Yi, gripping a homemade spear with protective gear strapped to his arms and legs, charged out alongside Tom Cruise, who clutched a fire axe.
At the sound, the eight zombies wandering aimlessly under the eaves instantly grew frenzied, letting out guttural “grrr...” growls as they lurched toward Xiao Yi and Tom Cruise.
“Bam!” Nicole Kidman swiftly slammed the gate shut, while Tom Cruise bolted straight for the SUV without a backward glance.
Left alone in the yard, Xiao Yi faced the eight zombies slowly closing in.
This was his first true solo battle against the undead. Only by surviving it could he truly immerse himself in apocalyptic life and embark on his end-times journey!

Xiao Yi gripped his steel pipe spear tightly, sweat slicking his palms and making it slip. He regretted not wrapping it with anti-slip rope earlier!
Still too inexperienced! Tightening his hold, he took a deep breath and locked eyes on the nearest zombie.
It was a female zombie with a full head of beautiful black hair, her features preserved intact from life—not rotted and grotesque like the others. She had an eerie, stunning beauty.
If not for the bite wound on her neck and her grayish-white pupils, Xiao Yi might’ve mistaken her for a living woman.
She must’ve been infected recently—maybe just yesterday, she’d been alive and well!
Even knowing she was an emotionless corpse, striking down a zombie with human form and beauty weighed on Xiao Yi’s mind.

The other four zombies were now creeping in from behind and his left flank. Xiao Yi knew if he didn’t act now, once they surrounded him, any tiny mistake could be fatal!

Human screams were the undead’s ultimate stimulant, enraging the ones nearby and drawing every zombie in earshot!
He’d thought this through while crafting the spear in the bedroom.
No matter the situation, he absolutely couldn’t make noise!
“Squelch!”
The spear plunged flawlessly into the female zombie’s left eye, piercing her skull with ease.
Blood mixed with brain matter erupted from her thick golden hair—wait, no, black hair? A rotten stench hit Xiao Yi, nearly making him vomit.
It felt just like spearing a living person. His body trembled uncontrollably, stomach churning, a wave of nauseous dizziness crashing over him.

As the system’s electronic chime rang out, a white energy orb flew from the zombie’s brain, merging seamlessly into Xiao Yi’s body.
Tension, fear, disgust—all negative emotions vanished instantly.

Suddenly, a curse erupted from the gate. Tom Cruise kicked the SUV in fury. “Damn it! I can’t find the car keys!! Damn it!!!”
The trunk thudded dully, and the stalled SUV’s hazard lights flickered on...
“Beep! Beep! Beep!...” A shrill, piercing car horn blared!
“Idiot!” Xiao Yi, fending off the last five zombies, couldn’t help muttering under his breath.
