The Outstanding Newbie – Chapter 1: Everyone Frozen in Shock? (10)
Kang-jun checked the chat window out of habit, then quickly closed it again. His body was so pumped up that even that rough movement had left him out of breath. He circulated his mana to wash away the fatigue.
‘Now I’m moving.’
Not long after raiding Floor 4, Team 9 finally started to creep forward. Kang-jun tossed a casual line at his still-frozen teammates.
“Team 9 is moving too.”
They had seven flags in total—everything they’d secured, including the originals. Seeing that Teams 5, 9, and 10 were empty, it looked like the Floor 1 teams were either 5 or 10.
“Again? Again? We’re gonna win anyway if we just hold out like this. Why bother…?”
The Japanese girl spoke in a voice that sounded like ants crawling, while carefully watching his reactions. When Kang-jun glanced at her, she startled and rolled her eyes backward in fear.
“Of course I’m not gonna jump in if you don’t. It’s because you’re the ones trying to butt in.”
Both teams were clearly planning to win, so even if Team 4 stayed put, those idiots wouldn’t just sit there quietly either.
The conversation suddenly died again. Kang-jun didn’t care about the awkward silence at all. After all, these guys were just lucky people who happened to be on the same team by chance; there was no future connection between them anyway.
He took a gulp of water. …The bastard who had dragged him into this hell again flashed through his mind. His teeth ground together. He didn’t know when or where he’d meet him, but if they ever did, he vowed to take every single thing they had.
While sharpening his revenge blades against the protagonist, Team 9 had already reached the training center.
Kang-jun finished his water, then irritably kicked the empty bottle across the floor. His teammates jumped in shock. Doesn’t matter if they’re shocked or not—he kept circulating his mana while scouting their movements.
‘Floor 2.’
They’d entered Floor 2. Some of them had gone straight through the training center’s main entrance. It was a plan to fight both above and below at the same time.
Soon the sounds of fighting erupted. The teammates turned into big round rabbit eyes, glancing at each other with ears perked up. Since the 9-team leader was performing so well, the fight ended surprisingly fast.
The Japanese girl looked like she wanted it to end right there, but of course the 9-team, who wanted to win, didn’t follow her wishes. They immediately pushed through to Floor 3.
Kang-jun shot to his feet. Team 9 had reached Floor 4 in an instant. That high-level 9-team leader must already know how to handle mana, because they were moving like they’d already spotted them on Floor 4. Otherwise they would have scouted Floor 2 or 3 at least once.
Moonlight flashed in the darkness. The 9-team leader at Floor 4 held a wooden club in his hand and stared straight at Kang-jun with pinpoint accuracy. At least his eyes weren’t stupid; he’d already picked out the biggest threat.
‘I wonder if I should spare this one.’
Even in a duel, they were potential allies in the dungeon. After all, the trainees’ goal was to take down the Four Heavenly Kings scattered across multiple dungeons and finally defeat the Demon King. Nobodies could die without much care, but this kind of talent could at least make for a solid long-term player.
Since Kang-jun’s top priority was escaping the novel, it was better to secure even one extra soldier. The duel victory was already secured anyway.
He glanced at the multiple flags planted on the enemy’s back, then spoke.
“What team are you?”
Kang-jun didn’t answer. There was no obligation or reason to respond to the question. Plus, the arrogant look on his face rubbed him the wrong way.
Arrogant bastard. I’ll break one of his spots. After all, a broken bone would heal in at most two days, so he didn’t need to worry about it.
Kang-jun scanned the enemy’s headcount with his eyes. Exactly ten. The enemies hadn’t lost anyone yet. The 9-team leader’s leadership must be pretty good. …Still, if he kept him alive, he could settle his score later.
Because they were already behind in numbers, his ally teammates looked a bit deflated. Even though their strength had multiplied several times over, it was the same for the opponents.
“Before we even enter the dungeon, we have to keep watching each other anyway. Just surrender and be done with it. No need to bleed each other dry.”
The 9-team leader proposed it that way first. Of course Kang-jun stayed silent. After being ignored twice, the guy’s face hardened even more. He raised his hand and shook it forward in a sharp gesture. The enemies charged at him with a roar.
Since he didn’t really feel like sparing anyone except the 9-team leader, Kang-jun showed no mercy at all.
-!
Every time he swung his arm, one enemy died. When his comrades, whom he’d bonded with, died while fighting, screams and howls tore through the air. They tried to fight back in revenge, but the result was the same.
When three of them died in an instant, the startled 9-team leader shouted for the rest to retreat.
“Fuck! This bastard…”
Poison dripped from the guy’s eyes. Kang-jun sneered and flicked his finger. The 9-team leader raised his mana. Since he could already handle mana, his talent was definitely decent. He was taller than the others and held a slight edge.
He threw a punch. Insanely fast speed. …Of course, it looked immense to everyone else, but to Kang-jun it was at the level of a yawn. Even with great talent, he couldn’t do anything against someone who couldn’t even reach the tips of his training-wheels feet.
Kang-jun clenched the swinging fist. Shock waves spread from the center, making the nearby windows rattle. The 9-team leader tried to twist the grabbed fist out once but couldn’t move it at all, and his expression turned to surprise. Kang-jun smiled once and crushed the fist as it was.
“Aaahh-!”
The 9-team leader felt pain and collapsed abruptly. It was ridiculous how he broke like this just from one fist being crushed, but since he was still a trainee… he could use it as an excuse until the tutorial ended.
He stared up at Kang-jun with bloodshot eyes and gritted teeth. His crushed fist was still being held.
“Release it, you bastard—! …You arrogant—”
“Looks like it.”
Kang-jun laughed and kicked the guy’s chest with his foot. The 9-team leader flew straight into the enemy teammates and crashed down like a bowling ball knocking over pins.
Gurgle. The 9-team leader spat out blood-mixed spittle. Rage and despair filled his eyes. The 9-team, who had believed in their leader so much, had lost all will when he broke so pathetically.
But Kang-jun had no intention of ending it there. Even if they hadn’t fought, they still had to finish it if they’d started.
-!
Kang-jun appeared in front of the enemies in an instant and grabbed the hair of the guy in front of him. He slammed him repeatedly into the wall. Blood splattered, and finally his head cracked.
Next he grabbed a woman. She struggled desperately to live. But he twisted her neck completely and killed her.
All will and whatever else was long gone. Along with the 9-team leader, they were already soaked in the fear of death.
Just as Kang-jun was about to do more, someone suddenly blocked his path. Judging by the outfit, it was the 9-team leader’s instructor. But since he’d tasted the blood, his excitement didn’t fade easily.
“What the fuck? …An instructor can join a duel? This is clearly a rule violation.”
The instructor’s already irritated eyes turned sharp.
“There’s also a rule against meaningless killing. The outcome is already decided. Your team won. The duel is over.”
“There’s still a little time left… Those guys are still alive.”
“You’ve already lost all will! Killing is no longer allowed.”
Kang-jun was pretty pissed off now. The fact that he was favoring his own team rubbed him the wrong way.
“Seriously…, does this guy think throwing anything at me is an excuse…?”
“…What the fuck?”
Just as the 9-team instructor, who had been trying to stop it, was about to roll his eyes, someone suddenly appeared again. It was the 4-team instructor. She immediately berated the 9-team instructor.
“What the hell is this?! Don’t you know you can’t join the duel?!”
“Senior, the match is already over. The duel is definitely finished. But you’re forcing him to die! This is going too far!”
“Whatever decision you make, it’s up to the trainees.”
“Is this right…? …I can’t acknowledge it. If we die fighting fair, maybe, but this is clearly murder!”
Slap. The 4-team instructor finally slapped the 9-team instructor across the face.
“You fucking bastard. Are you challenging me right now?”
The guy’s head slowly turned back. There was still a hint of rebellious light in his eyes.
“I was just pointing out that it was excessive. Isn’t that the instructor’s job, senior?”
At that moment, Kang-jun stepped in. Actually, his excitement had cooled the moment the instructors joined.
“Let’s stop it then. We won by our team’s victory, right? Good. Since all we need is to win, it’s fine.”
Kang-jun smiled, and the 9-team instructor’s face turned even redder. But he kept his mouth shut tight. There was a senior 4-team instructor right there, and the 9-team’s condition wasn’t great at all. …For now, it was a gesture of retreat.
“Take the kids and go. Report to the coach that it’s all over.”
“Yes…”
The instructor took the 9-team, who was trembling, and went down the stairs. The 4-team instructor sighed deeply and called her teammates.
“You guys come with me too. …You stay.”
The teammates, wanting to escape this eerie atmosphere quickly, hurried down the stairs through the steps.
The 4-team instructor confirmed there was no one around and growled at Kang-jun.
“You bastard, you went too far! You should have stopped when the fight was decided. Killing there was definitely going to cause problems.”
“…Suck.”
The instructor suddenly tilted her head a little at the out-of-nowhere comment.
“…What?”
Kang-jun tapped his groin with his finger.
“Suck. Now.”
The 4-team instructor ground her teeth.
“Are you in the mood for that right now?!”
“You bastard, you’re not listening to me?”
Kang-jun smiled menacingly, baring his teeth. Only then did the 4-team instructor realize. This guy was truly crazy…. He whispered in her ear.
“Hold out for one more round. Then it’s fine. Think of it as meeting a crazy bastard. Isn’t sucking one dick that hard, huh?”
In this place vibrating with thick blood stench, the sudden appearance of someone sticking out his dick was definitely not normal.
“Quickly or someone else will come? …Want your junior to find out? Fine by me.”
Kang-jun was the type who wouldn’t hesitate to do this even in front of the 9-team instructor. The 4-team instructor, grinding her teeth, gave up and knelt in front of him. She grabbed his already stiff dick. The smell was strong because he hadn’t washed it for days, but she had no choice.
She shook her head restlessly. She tried desperately to finish him off quickly. The 9-team instructor would be back soon.
“If you do it like that, I won’t cum.”
The instructor sucked him more diligently, using all her strength to pull out just one last shot.
“Yeah, that’s better now.”
The 9-team instructor, who had been away, started coming closer again. She got nervous. She sucked him greedily with her mouth. Kang-jun grabbed the back of her head and forced her to shake violently. She would normally resist, but she was in a hurry and let him do as he wanted. As long as they could escape this situation first.
Hic, cumming. The instructor closed her eyes tight. The pungent smell stung her nose. But since spitting it out might let the junior notice, she swallowed everything down her throat. She coughed a few times, a little tear pricked her eye, but she quickly stood up, fixed her clothes, and pretended nothing happened.
Soon the 9-team instructor appeared. He reported to the coach that the duel was over.
“Since you handled it well enough, don’t hold any grudges and just let this go. Got it?”
“…Yes, senior.”
The 9-team instructor’s eyes were full of unhidden rebellion as he answered politely. He shot Kang-jun a look full of defiance, then turned and left. The 4-team instructor let out a sigh.
Kang-jun slapped her firm ass with his palm and smiled lewdly.
“We’ll have to do a winning ceremony later. Ending it like this is too boring.”
The instructor glared at him with disgust.
