The Aftermath of the Second Broadcast (1)
After Yujin and Winter’s stream ended, the first place posts about their broadcast appeared was none other than the Powell Gallery.
Anyone who was a Powell Gallery veteran would have expected a new hidden route after taking down Ariandel, but forget the hidden route—today’s stream content was absolutely insane lmao.
It started with Soma-jwa fully engaging his brain and entering the hidden route while Winter and all the Powell Gallery idiots watching the stream had zero clue it was even possible. Then Powell Gallery’s eternal girlfriend, the doll, voluntarily swore herself to Soma-jwa as her master. The self-proclaimed experts who kept insisting the Ruler was DLC-only and that we just hadn’t found it yet got to watch it show up as a boss in person. And Soma-jwa even pulled off hunting a boss while under full Insanity stacks—the thing Powell Gallery Nightfall veterans swore was impossible lmao.
Today’s Soma-jwa stream completely demolished every backseat gamer who claimed to be a Nightfall expert. If that felt refreshing, smash that upvote lmao.
3-line summary for people short on time:
1. Soma-jwa met the Ruler as a boss on the hidden route today and wrecked it.
2. One Soma-jwa is cooler than every backseat gamer living in the Powell Gallery combined.
3. Everything else aside, the baby version of big sis doll was adorable.
(Clip of Yuria perched on Soma-jwa’s shoulder)
The kids would all say Ecclesia, Xenon, Seo Yuna, and other famous streamers.
I said quietly:
「Soma-jwa—」
Teacher: “Who’s that, dear? Some obscure streamer?”
Ah—so you don’t know.
Everywhere I look, nothing but incomplete humans.
Me: “The one who pioneered Nightfall’s hidden route… and became the first to hunt a Ruler…”
Over the past month, Nightfall had already been thoroughly dissected by countless players, with many of its elements discovered. At the same time, even after a full month, new discoveries continued to peel away like layers of an onion, constantly holding gamers’ interest and attention.
But recently, only minor elements had been turning up with nothing decisive, leaving people gloomy—until Yujin dropped the achievement of discovering the hidden route right in front of everyone.
That was why the users of the Powell Gallery were not just hyped for Yujin; they were going completely feral. And they wanted to share this joy they were basking in with as many random people as possible.
Driven by pure human goodwill and without taking a single coin, Powell Gallery users began flooding every community site with posts about Yujin. Viewers who had watched Winter’s stream live soon joined in.
At the exact moment Yujin hunted the Ruler, the number of people watching Winter’s stream hit a full 40,000! Even if only those 40,000 who watched today’s stream each wrote one post, that would be 40,000 posts. Even if only half of them posted, it would still be 20,000.
So the moment Winter’s stream ended, every community site dealing with Nightfall or streamers getting completely plastered with posts about Yujin was only natural.
The posts flooding the related sites mostly fell into two categories.
One was pure praise for Yujin’s performance and physicality.
The other was serious analysis of the hidden route that had been revealed for the first time by Yujin’s hands.
This is just speculation based on the facts revealed up to the point Soma-jwa progressed the story.
The ‘Paradise’ Ariandel created to strengthen the hunters who came to Arkham was actually a space forged by borrowing the power of the Rulers. So hunters who gained power in Paradise had essentially received the Rulers’ power indirectly. That meant they could kill the beasts swarming Arkham, but they could never defeat the Rulers—the fundamental beings who created Arkham’s nightmare.
In the end, the protagonist who despairs upon learning that truth is the ending of all four currently known routes.
But if you pre-emptively kill Ariandel in the tutorial, you can set the goal of overthrowing the Rulers with only human power, and you can also use the holy sword the hunters of the past prepared as a weapon against the Rulers.
The hidden route seems to progress roughly along those lines.
So how the hell do you even beat that bastard Ariandel in the tutorial????
I’ve gotten my ass kicked by Ariandel about fifty times in the tutorial and now I just want to delete the game, fuck;;
That was the reality.
Judging from Yujin’s stream, the most reliable way to enter the hidden route right now was none other than defeating Ariandel in the tutorial.
But the tutorial Ariandel was the strongest boss monster that had never been defeated even once before Yujin appeared!
In a situation where everyone was already tearing their hair out over how hard the Ariandel who appeared as the final boss on the normal routes was, how exactly were they supposed to beat the Ariandel who showed up in the tutorial?
Just as people were hurling nothing but raw insults at Powell Software and the Nightfall developers, a single video that suddenly appeared on Muteube flipped the entire public opinion.
“Hello, Nightfall fans of Korea. I am Hayao Misaka, total director of Nightfall.”
The famous Korean game review site ‘Gamespole’ had uploaded an interview video with Hayao Misaka—vice president of Powell Software and total director of Nightfall—to Muteube.
“First of all, I would like to express my deep gratitude for the tremendous love you have shown our new title from Powell Software, ‘Nightfall,’ here in Korea.”
Hayao Misaka’s video, which began with greetings to the Korean fans, looked at first glance like nothing more than an ordinary interview.
At least the early portion of the interview was like that.
But once the interview reached its middle section, the question everyone had been waiting for finally left the reporter’s mouth.
“Come to think of it, there’s one question I’ve been wanting to ask you, Director.”
“What is it?”
“Recently Nightfall’s hidden route was discovered and it’s causing a huge stir online. Are you aware of that fact, Director?”
“Of course. We also watched the video of the Korean user who discovered the hidden route—commonly known as Sword Master—with great interest. However… that doesn’t mean we can exactly welcome his play with open arms either.”
“Excuse me? What do you mean by that?”
At that question, Hayao Misaka brought up a video beside him and began playing it.
The video was none other than the footage of Yujin pioneering the hidden route and fighting the ‘Ruler.’
“To be honest, we on the Nightfall development team were also extremely surprised while watching Sword Master’s video. Because his playstyle was something that far exceeded our expectations.”
Saying so, Hayao Misaka offered a bitter smile.
“First, I will state in advance that the method Sword Master demonstrated for entering the hidden route through his personal stream was a method our development team had never even considered. Because we had simply assumed that no human would be capable of such a thing.”
“…Excuse me? So that means—”
When the reporter showed a shocked expression, Hayao Misaka nodded.
“As the total director of Nightfall, I will declare this. I believe the method by which Sword Master entered the hidden route is something only Sword Master in this entire world is capable of.”
“…Thanks to that, I can’t even remember how much abuse we’ve taken over the past two days. It was a little unfair, too. If it hadn’t been for Sword Master, we wouldn’t have needed to take this much flak.”
After pretending to sigh, Hayao Misaka soon looked straight into the center of the screen and began wearing a mischievous expression.
“In that sense, we at Powell Software have a plan to make one proposal to Sword Master. You can look forward to it.”
“Ohhh, a proposal? Could you maybe give me just a tiny hint about what it is?”
At the reporter’s urging, Hayao Misaka opened his mouth as if he truly had no choice, speaking in a small, whispering voice.
“Isn’t the entire problem with this situation that Sword Master possesses physical ability that transcends human limits? Then the solution is simple. We just need to bring Sword Master over to our side.”
“…Bring him over?”
“If Sword Master is our enemy, he’s terrifying, but if he’s an ally, nothing could be more reliable. In that sense, Sword Master, there is something I would like to propose to you.”
He extended his hand forward as if offering a handshake to someone.
“At Powell Software, we would like to insert Sword Master’s combat data into a boss monster scheduled for release in the DLC. How about it? Just imagining it is an absolutely fantastic idea, isn’t it?”
Grinning, Hayao Misaka smiled.
“If it’s Sword Master, becoming Arkham’s greatest nightmare that surpasses even the ‘Ruler’ should be more than possible.”
