1. The Impossible That Happens Every Day: A Classic Isekai Summoning
"Ta-da! You two have been chosen as the heroes who'll save the world~!"
It was a sudden cut-in.
Golden wavy, fluffy long hair. A refined face that exuded elegance despite her cutesy speech, and porcelain skin. She was dressed in a white glossy sleeveless dress—like peplos, maybe? A woman straight out of a Greek sculpture, probably in her early twenties.
Her cleavage was magnetic.
"Where the hell is this?"
I'd been on the train platform moments ago, but now I was somewhere totally unfamiliar.
A bizarre space surrounded by unnecessarily ornate stone pillars. It felt like the inner chamber of a temple.
"This is the realm of the gods. This area's my personal office, y'know~? And you've both been selected as the heroes to save the world~!"
"No way—that can't be right. I was sure getting into a fight with some high school girl who mistook me for a groper."
Glancing around, I spotted the long-haired girl in the sailor uniform—the one I'd been arguing with—looking just as lost as me.
Then she noticed me.
"Pervert! Don't run!"
She yelled and charged at me.
"I told you, it wasn't me! Like I said a million times, I was just messing with my phone the whole time!"
"Liar! I won't forgive you!"
She wouldn't listen.
Besides, she wasn't even the victim. She'd spotted some girl from her school getting groped and grabbed my arm out of nowhere.
I didn't even know the actual victim existed. That was her story.
"Damn it, I wanna punch her."
I was getting pissed at this unreasonable woman.
"First groping, now violence? You're the worst!"
This girl—I seriously wanted to deck her.
"Um, he's not actually the groper, y'know~."
The golden-haired woman stepped in, apparently unable to watch our bickering any longer.
"Eh? But you weren't even there, right?"
True enough. If a girl like her had been on that train, she'd have been the prime target.
No way she'd have had the spare attention to defend someone else.
"Hee hee, I'm a goddess, after all. I see everything~."
Her speech was seriously grating. She raised her hand, and an image of the train interior materialized in the space before us.
The car was packed. A crowd of tired salarymen in suits. And among them, standing out like a sore thumb, was the disheveled middle-aged guy from this morning—me.
I was fiddling with my smartphone using both hands, grinning like an idiot every now and then.
"Hey, don't show me. Show the victim."
I wanted to see the girl who'd actually been groped.
"Boo~! If I did that, people would see that poor girl getting that done to her. Privacy violation, y'know~."
"Damn, you're useless too."
"I'm not a girl. Please call me Rakushel-sama with respect~."
"Weren't you just calling yourself a goddess? With that body, you're not a woman?"
"My gender is female~. So no 'girl' or 'you'—call me Rakushel-sama~."
As we bantered pointlessly, the footage showed the sailor-uniform girl pushing through the crowd toward me.
She grabbed my wrist and started yelling that I was a groper.
The train stopped at the station, and she dragged me off like a criminal.
"See? I was standing there with both hands on my phone, and you weren't even in frame. Total false accusation."
"But you had the sleaziest face! That creepy grin..."
Fair point. I'd admit my vibe was a bit off. But I was innocent.
"That's some shitty logic!"
"I just knew you were doing it!"
"Quit harassing me! Yeah, I'm a perv in my head, but I've never acted on it!"
The girl looked stunned.
The footage ended, and the monitor-like display vanished.
"No way... But you..."
She trailed off, collapsing to her knees and slamming her hands on the floor. First time I'd seen someone drop like that for real.
I figured an apology was coming, but she staggered back to her feet.
"You know me?"
"I don't... know you."
She denied it, but maybe we'd crossed paths somewhere.
"See~? He didn't do it. Totally innocent, right~?"
Rakushel's words made the girl grit her teeth in frustration. Like a boxer down from a brutal punch, forcing herself up on sheer willpower but losing on points anyway.
Rakushel's tone felt downright provocative.
But she'd proven my innocence, so I kept quiet.
"Alright, that's settled. Justice prevails. Now send me back. Actually, drop me at the office—I don't wanna be late."
"Can't do that~."
Rakushel stated it flatly.
"You've been summoned as heroes to save a certain world. Now you'll transfer there~."
"What?"
The sailor girl and I said it in perfect sync.
"You'll team up, defeat the Demon King, and done~."
"Demon King? You nuts?"
"Boo~, no arguments. Time's short, so let's move on quick-quick. I'll grant you three Special Skills with the Goddess's blessing. Pick 'em fast~!"
Monitors popped up in front of me and the sailor girl.
Endless lists scrolled across them.
"What the hell is this list? Way too long. Can't read it."
"Right! I can't keep up. Don't just steamroll us!"
The sailor girl protested to Rakushel too.
"You two started fighting the second you got here—that's on you~. Humans can't stay here long, or you'll vanish. And you're lovers, so get along or it's no good~."
"You saw the footage, right? We're strangers, and to her, I'm a criminal."
"Sorry for treating you like one. But saying this old guy's my boyfriend? That's harsh!"
"Still shitting on me?"
"Ugh, sorry. But you're just... physiologically repulsive."
She averted her eyes when I glared. That hurt worse than the groper accusation.
"No way that's true~. My selection process is flawless. But time's up. Hurry and pick your Special Skills~."
For some reason, my feet were starting to fade away.
No clue what force was at work, but she wasn't kidding about the time limit.
I scanned the list, but nothing sank in. Too many options.
And most were chuuni nonsense like Super Ultra Kill-All Self-Destruct Blade, Wrathful Roar Annihilation Beam, Dark Death Wave, Dark Great Demon King Mega Laugh Descent, Dark Smile—unpronounceable, but the kind of shiny keywords that'd hook any edgelord.
"Hey, recommend some."
"They're all recommendations~."
"Damn it, at least tell me what kinda world it is and what I need."
"It's a wonderful fantasy world of swords, magic, and adventure~! I had a grand one-year-planning, one-year-production video intro planned, but you wanted that sweaty packed-train footage instead..."
Don't glare at me like that. Fantasy world, huh.
With all those hyper-aggressive skill names, there had to be monsters or enemies to fight.
• Party members all gain more EXP
• Party members all get higher rare item drop rates
I grabbed those two practical ones that caught my eye. Then Goddess Summon jumped out.
Summoning this airhead wouldn't help much, but I picked it as my third anyway.
The sailor girl seemed done, so I peeked at hers.
• Super Kill
• Super Save
• Super Expansion
"Super this, super that—you some Jack-in-the-Box clerk?"
"Huh? What's Jack-in-the-Box?"
She deadpanned it. Generational gap, I guess. And this girl had been naturally chipping away at my HP nonstop.
"Hee hee, nice—all same-series Special Skills. They chain together, and as levels rise, higher versions unlock~."
"For real? Spill that upfront!"
Should've gone all-Dark-something, or grabbed another party buff for a killer team comp.
By the time I finished, my legs were gone up to the knees.
Shocking, but no pain—the missing parts still felt normal, and I could walk fine. Weird sensation.
"Now, time to generate your post-transfer character sheets~. Anyone can see the name and some basics, so it'll work as ID. Tell me your names~."
She'd summoned us without even knowing our names?
"I'm Mizuki Yamase."
The sailor girl introduced herself. Sounded like a heroine from one of my eroge.
"Aliases okay?"
"Mmm, not ideal, but time's short, so sure~."
"Mash, then."
"Pfft—"
Mizuki snorted next to me. She caught my glare and bowed her head quick.
I wanted to brag about saving countless game worlds with this name, but it'd just invite more mockery. Kept quiet.
"Got it. As the Goddess of Adventure, your jobs are Adventurer~. Field skills focused, decent in combat, bit of magic too—a great all-rounder~."
"Jack-of-all-trades, master of none. Useless at high levels."
"Ugh, fine—chant Storage Open then."
"Nothing'll happen, total embarrassment."
Mizuki chanted it beside my skeptical ass.
A storage space materialized in front of her.
"Whoa!" "No way—real!"
She was hyped. Me too, honestly.
"Here's some starter gold—stash it in there. Iron sword and leather chestplate too. And my specially supervised World Traveler's Guide~. It's huge, so read in downtime. Top recommendation: the opening date spots feature. You two must check 'em out together. Oh, and to view your character sheet, just think it—help function included for questions~."
Info overload—brain couldn't process. Skipping the intro, for sure.
The gold was 100 silver coins.
"How far does this go for living?" Mizuki asked.
"Ten days at a normal inn~."
"Lame."
Unrealized income, I guess. I opened my Storage too, dumping in the coins, gear.
Tossed my work bag in while at it. Smartphone from my suit pocket too—no use for it now.
By then, my butt was fading.
"Time to say goodbye~. Made you bilingual so language won't be an issue. Head to town first, hit the Adventurer's Guild. Pray at my statues in temples now and then—donations appreciated~. And defeat the Demon King!"
She was rambling hard. Even her cutesy lilt was gone.
"Once the Demon King's down, we go home?"
Mizuki asked. If she's polite to her, show me some respect too.
"Well... yeah, sure. We'll figure it out if you win. But no time now."
"Wait—anyone else transferring with us?"
"Just you two from me. Other gods summoned two each too~."
"This time? Other gods exist?"
Too little solid info. World details I could get there, but gods? Had to ask.
"Hey, spill more on the gods."
"Hee hee, my three sizes~?"
"Not that. Though yeah, those too. What I wanna know is why you gods summoned us and what you're after."
"Sizes are secret~. Summoned you to beat the Demon King, obviously. Before the other heroes do. Now, off you go~!"
All anxiety, no reassurance. Even if I went back, I'd just be the train groper facing ruin.
Avoid that, and it'd be endless salaryman drudgery.
Maybe a fresh start in a new world wasn't so bad.
"Hold up."
Mizuki stopped me as I psyched myself for departure.
"What?"
"Sorry for real about the groper thing. I saw a girl in my uniform getting her butt groped, wanted to help... lost my head. If punching me settles it, go ahead."
So it was for a stranger. Overzealous justice.
"Why would I punch you?"
"You said you wanted to earlier."
That was just talk.
"Fine. That square it?"
"Eek. You're serious. Go on."
She thought an apology would suffice, no actual hit.
I was annoyed, sure, but punching solved nothing. Never hit anyone anyway. Hated being read like that. Needed another way.
Mizuki steeled herself, facing me.
I took a good look.
Straight, long black hair. Delicate features on a small face. Not Rakushel-level, but busty; nice waist curve, perky ass—you could tell even through the sailor uniform. Gravure idol material, top to bottom.
And here she was, eyes shut, lips offered vulnerably.
Inviting me?
I cupped her cheeks with both hands and pressed my lips to hers.
"Mmph! Mmmph!"
Shocked, she whimpered against my mouth, trying to pull away. I held firm.
Timing her gasp, I slipped my tongue in.
Swirled it around her mouth.
She shoved me off, then slapped me hard.
"Wh-wh-what the hell?!"
"Looked like you wanted it. And you said take your punishment."
"I didn't! That was my first kiss!"
She glared, wiping her mouth.
Surprising. She seemed prim and pure, but hot like that? Figured she'd be experienced.
(And no one'd know it was mine too.)
"You nearly erased me from society."
"Now, now—sealed your makeup kiss, so stay lovers and get along from here~."
Rakushel's ditzy comment drew a retort from Mizuki, but I couldn't hear it.
Her body was almost gone.
Mine too, probably. Consciousness fading.
"Farewell, you two. Bon voyage~!"
Rakushel waved.
Thanks for reading!
To everyone who bookmarked and rated—seriously grateful.
Means the world. I'll keep pushing!
