Morph: The Succubus Art of Deception
To cut to the chase, the transformation wasn't what I'd imagined. It was closer to morphing. Temporarily bulking up or slimming down the body. Even changing eye and hair color was possible—like an advanced version of the bone-shrinking technique.
The use is obvious. Succubus and all that. The world is vast, and people's tastes vary wildly. As a proper succubus, to drain life force from as many folks as possible, you need the skills to satisfy all sorts of demands. That's how succubi naturally evolved this ability. To breach one more sexual barrier at a time…
The precise term isn't "transformation"—it's Morph.
But not bad at all. I wasn't disappointed. Just because it evolved for those purposes doesn't mean it has to be limited to them. Being able to alter body shape, eyes, and hair color is huge in itself. If anything, I was impressed they hadn't used this amazing power for more than just that.
"Got it? The bigger the change, the shorter the duration," Lilith explained.
In short, if a petite succubus girl like me tried turning into a tall, busty bombshell, the time limit would be brutally short. Proficiency affects duration too.
But it's plenty. For what I had in mind, anyway. I mastered Morph through Lilith's one-on-one lessons. All that's left is regular practice to build proficiency.
Alone in my room, I struck a pose. Then I shouted.
"Come forth… Morph!"
No, "transformation" felt too passive. I charge into the transformation.
Crack, crunch. My limbs stretched longer, my shoulder-length hair cascading to my waist. My youthful face matured into elegant poise, curves sharpening dramatically.
"Ta-da."
I spun around, admiring my new form in the empty room.
"This is… me?"
Is this what I'll look like when I grow up? I loved it. But I wasn't stopping there. I morphed again. This time, limbs and hair both shortened.
Gazing into the mirror, I couldn't help but gasp.
"Whoa."
It was my childhood self, perfectly recreated.
"Talk about effective."
Looking closer, even back then my features had a sharp edge. The eye shape, maybe? Going any younger seemed impossible, though. Some instinct warned me off, and at this minimum size, I could feel my stamina draining in real time.
Stamina cost is higher than expected.
Still, this was more than enough. It'd be a huge help for the plan I'd been mulling over.
Returning to my original body, I slipped my clothes back on. Not that I'd stripped naked out of fear they'd rip during a big change. Probably.
I'll need outfits that fit the new shapes too. With my current proficiency, vigorous movement in morphed form would be risky. To use it in real combat, I'd stock clothes and drill for a while. Master this, and it'll pay off forever. I could even hide these hard-to-conceal wings and tail.
Speaking of, what the hell are these wings for?
I flapped the small ones sprouting from my waist. I'd heard other demonkin have proper, massive wings in the right spot… Succubus wings were comically tiny for flight and weirdly placed.
They grow a bit if I flex…
Lilith had flat-out told me not to dream of flying with them. They're not for that.
If not flying, then what? She wouldn't say. I'd asked Bella once too…
"…Heh heh."
She'd just given that suspicious chuckle and clammed up.
Whatever the reason, no need to flaunt my succubus traits at the Academy. I'd master Morph properly.
Succubi have a bad rep. They proudly hold the title of weakest demonkin, and their racial traits don't help.
Horns? No need to hide those. Unlike distinctive succubus wings or tails, they're pretty standard among demonkin. Covering them would just burn extra stamina.
Command tent at the 6th Great Anti-Beast Northern Frontline.
The commander, seated with a grave expression, asked his deputy.
"Caught her this time?"
"Well, the Sword Ghost was facing off when reinforcements arrived, and she bolted."
"…She got away? Kallan?"
"Yes. Midway through the duel, she griped about 'ganging up being unfair' and fled."
Commander Damon scowled, rubbing his temples.
"…Didn't she come pick the fight in the first place?"
"Correct."
"And she bails mid-duel whining about ganks?"
"…Yes."
"Definitely a mad bitch."
Four days prior, a bizarre woman had appeared out of nowhere. Raven-black hair, massive goat-like curving horns. Pomegranate-red eyes that sent chills down your spine just looking at them. Power beyond measurement. They called her the Black Light Witch for the black flashes when she moved—but Black Mad Witch fit better.
"Troops' status?"
"They're thrilled."
"Good. No casualties is a relief… what?"
"They say that Black Light woman is stunningly beautiful."
Damon doubted his ears. An unknown powerhouse crashes in for an ambush, and the guys guarding citizens from otherworld beasts are fans of the attacker?
"…Mental attack?"
"Doesn't seem so. Ellen—no trace of it, she said. You know Ellen? The pricey mage we just hired…"
"Then why the hell are they thrilled?"
"'Cause she's pretty?"
He could only pound his chest at the deputy's deadpan reply. Clearly charmed by the witch. Even the mage must be under her spell.
"I'll check the situation myself."
"You're going personally?"
"Yeah."
Ignoring the deputy's lukewarm response, Damon headed to the troops' tents. And he started believing something was truly off.
"Think we'll see her again?"
"For close-quarters combat, her hands were awfully delicate…"
"Black Light Witch? More like Black Light Beauty."
Damon remembered how they'd been just days ago. Endless hordes of otherworld-corrupted beasts. Casualties daily to hold the line—no soldier unscathed. Perpetual pessimism. Yesterday's messmate dead today, terror of the same fate looming. They gritted their teeth for the families, friends, lovers behind them. Despair etched on every face.
But now?
"…Hah. Unreal."
Damon could only click his tongue. Hope shone on their faces. First time he'd seen them smile so brightly, maybe ever.
"Morale's through the roof," the deputy noted, catching up.
"Casualties have dropped noticeably too."
In the distance, Kallan swung his sword alone. The vengeful wanderer haunting battlefields, Sword Ghost.
…Was that a faint smile on his lips? Imagination?
"Plus, this Black Light Witch pitches in whenever beasts show up."
She helps us cull the beasts? So she just wants a pure duel with Kallan?
Damon let out a hollow chuckle—then!
Shrieeeek—! Air tore with a vicious whoosh.
Something flashed like a black bolt, slamming down before Kallan with a thud!
Black hair swaying at waist level. Blood-red eyes. Translucent-white skin. Perfect curves—dipping where they should, swelling where they shouldn't.
Even the ever-cool, rational Damon lost his composure to her mature, breathtaking beauty and that seductive, heart-tugging poise.
Face-to-face with the Black Light Witch up close, he could only chuckle blankly.
"Hah… hahaha…"
No wonder the troops were smitten.
Like a comet, she pointed squarely at Kallan and declared boldly.
A duel for honor!
"Sword Ghost Kallan! Today, we settle this!"
"…Pretty sure I won last time."
"No, that can't be right!"
…More like a childish tantrum, really.
Kallan sighed, readjusting his grip and stance. He accepted.
The woman grinned, drawing her sword into a ready pose—one those eastern warriors might take. Then she tossed out a cool line.
"Ora."
Sounded like a distant master schooling a novice—but from Kallan's reaction, she'd already lost to the Sword Ghost before.
If Kallan can handle her, maybe just let 'em be? She's not harming the troops.
As Damon thought idly—
Both figures vanished. They kicked off the ground, charging each other.
The outcome came in a flash.
Claaang! Sparks flew midway between their starting spots as they reappeared.
The Black Light Witch's sword was snapped in two.
She stared at the broken blade, then flipped out.
"Eek?! No way! I won dozens of times in my dreams!"
"Foolish drivel…"
"Something's wrong!"
Her icy beauty shattered as she tore at her hair, raging. Kallan sheathed his blade.
Click.
The duel was over.
After fuming a while, the witch dissolved into a pitch-black flash and vanished.
Succubus Queen Lilith and Demon King's daughter, Regina Diabolos, chalked up another loss.
