A Date
Jung Na-yeon tilted her head towards Hyun-soo as she walked.
“Did you notice those girls at the table next to us in the cafe staring at us earlier?”
“Really?”
“Yeah.”
Jung Na-yeon’s voice carried a subtle pride.
“You’re wearing the clothes I picked for you too.”
Hyun-soo grabbed the sleeve of her shirt and smiled.
While walking down the crowded street filled with K-pop, Jung Na-yeon suddenly slowed her steps. Under the streetlamp ahead, a busker was playing guitar and singing a ballad. Jung Na-yeon placed her hand over the one on her waist and stopped quietly.
“Hyun-soo-ya.”
“?”
Jung Na-yeon looked up at Hyun-soo. The streetlamp light illuminated her face, and her rose-tinted lips parted slightly.
“Today is really great. I’ve never done this before. Not even with my husband.”
After saying that, Jung Na-yeon, feeling embarrassed, buried her forehead in Hyun-soo’s chest. The guitar melody of the busker enveloped the two of them. The noise of the bustling area temporarily faded.
“Then let’s keep doing this from now on.”
Hyun-soo lowered his head and kissed Jung Na-yeon’s cheek.
At the moment his lips touched her cheek, Jung Na-yeon’s shoulder twitched. In the middle of the bustling street, under the streetlights where people were passing by. Jung Na-yeon held her breath and then slowly exhaled, lifting her forehead that had been buried in Hyun-soo’s chest. Her eyes were slightly moist.
“Hey, there are a lot of people here.”
Jung Na-yeon said in a reprimanding tone, but her voice was trembling. The lip mark on her cheek was still warm, and she hadn’t covered or wiped that area with her hand.
“What’s the problem… We’re lovers.”
The word “lovers.”
Jung Na-yeon felt her heart flutter for a moment.
“Keep doing this…”
Jung Na-yeon trailed off.
Hyun-soo grabbed the front of her shirt with his fingers and lowered his head. As the busker’s guitar chorus played, the melody rose.
“I’m a married woman. You know that. How heavy the word ‘keep doing this’ is.”
Strength entered Jung Na-yeon’s fingers. The shirt fabric wrinkled. But it wasn’t a pushing hand. It was a pulling hand.
“However, it’s strange. I’m not scared. Being with you.”
Jung Na-yeon lifted her head and looked straight into Hyun-soo’s eyes.
“That’s good, isn’t it?”
Hyun-soo smiled while looking at Jung Na-yeon.
Under the coral light, Hyun-soo’s eyes sparkled with the streetlamp light. It was a kiss on the street above for 10 years that he had never received from his wife. The woman who had lived forgetting even the word ‘dating’ was standing in the arms of a man in the middle of Hongdae on a Saturday night. Jung Na-yeon licked her lips and smiled softly.
“Let’s try… keep doing this.”
Her heart was beating hard as she said that.
Hyun-soo wrapped his arms around Jung Na-yeon’s waist and buried his face in her chest. His scent from the shirt tickled her nose. This fact made her heart warm and she closed her eyes tightly.
“However, there’s one condition.”
“Condition?”
Jung Na-yeon murmured while burying her face in Hyun-soo’s chest.
“If you do this to another woman, you’ll die. Really.”
Jung Na-yeon’s voice was playful, but the sincerity was in the hand gripping Hyun-soo’s shirt. A passing couple looked at the two of them and smiled enviously. The busker’s song’s final note rang out and was drowned by the applause.
When they returned to the car, Hyun-soo sitting in the passenger seat opened his mouth.
“Don’t go back right away. Shall we go somewhere with a good view?”
Jung Na-yeon, about to start the engine, stopped her hand.
Checking Hyun-soo’s face in the rearview mirror, she opened her mouth.
“Good view? Suddenly?”
Jung Na-yeon placed her hand on the steering wheel and turned to Hyun-soo.
Her eyes narrowed.
Both remembered what happened at the last complex skyway.
“You thinking about that again?”
“Well?”
Hyun-soo smiled cheerfully.
Jung Na-yeon, watching that, straightened her gaze.
“Alright, let’s go.”
As the car left the parking lot, the neon sign in the back alley of Hongdae passed by the window. Jung Na-yeon didn’t touch the navigation. It meant she knew the way.
“I’ve been to Bukak before, so I’ll go somewhere else. There’s a night view point on the Eungbongsan side.”
She changed lanes while saying.
The music flowing from the speaker filled the car, and her sister-in-law’s scent spread subtly.
“You still know?”
Hyun-soo asked with surprise.
“I only drank half a glass of wine, so driving is fine.”
Was it embarrassment?
Jung Na-yeon turned the conversation as if making an excuse and glanced at him.
Hyun-soo didn’t ask about the turning conversation.
“There… the parking lot is a bit dark. Not many cars park there.”
After saying that, Jung Na-yeon bit her lip as if realizing what meaning she implied.
“I’m going to see the night view. Don’t think anything else.”
“I didn’t say anything?”
“……”
After driving for about 20 minutes, they parked the car near the octagonal pavilion on Eungbongsan. As Jung Na-yeon said, there were only two or three cars, and one streetlamp dimly illuminated the end of the parking lot. When she turned off the engine, the night view of Seoul city poured out beyond the windshield. The lights reflected over the Han River flickered on the water surface. The vehicle lights of Gangbyeonbuk-ro formed a red band as they passed. Jung Na-yeon leaned back in the seat and exhaled.
“Isn’t it pretty here?”
Jung Na-yeon said softly while looking out the window. Then, naturally turning her head to face Hyun-soo. Instead of candles, the Seoul night view illuminated Jung Na-yeon’s face, and her lips glowed subtly in the darkness.
“Even though I went there last time, it’s really fine here too.”
When Hyun-soo liked it, Jung Na-yeon felt relieved inwardly.
Then, Hyun-soo looked at Jung Na-yeon.
“What are you looking at.”
He said in a whisper, but didn’t avoid the gaze.
“Because you’re pretty.”
Jung Na-yeon’s breath stopped.
Before the word ‘pretty’ reached her ear, warm palms wrapped around her cheeks came first. The click of the seatbelt unlocking broke the silence in the car, and Hyun-soo’s lips overlapped on Jung Na-yeon’s lips. Jung Na-yeon opened her eyes wide and then slowly closed them. Her hand that was on the steering wheel slipped down and grabbed Hyun-soo’s shirt chest. While the Seoul night view flowed beyond the windshield and the lights on the Han River flickered, the car was filled only with the two’s breathing sounds.
“……”
A small sound escaped from Jung Na-yeon’s lips.
As the kiss deepened, Hyun-soo’s tongue tip parted Jung Na-yeon’s lips, and she accepted it without resistance.
“Choo…”
“Chop.”
The sensation of tongues mixing made Jung Na-yeon’s fingers wrinkle the shirt more tightly. The wine scent mixed and melted between their saliva. Jung Na-yeon leaned her upper body over the console box and put her hand on the back of Hyun-soo’s neck.
Short back hair brushed against the fingertips.
“Choo…”
“Chop… Chooop…”
A while later, Jung Na-yeon pulled her lips away first.
“Haa… Haa… Haaa.”
Her breath was heavy. Half-opening her eyes, in the hazy vision, Hyun-soo’s pupils held the night view light.
“Haa…”
Jung Na-yeon exhaled hot breath and licked her lips. Hyun-soo’s lips wet with his saliva sparkled in the night view light.
“You can’t do this here…”
Jung Na-yeon whispered, but the arm wrapped around Hyun-soo’s neck didn’t loosen.
“There are only two of us.”
“……”
Jung Na-yeon didn’t open her mouth at Hyun-soo’s words.
Instead, her fingers brushed through the back hair and narrowed the distance again.
Jung Na-yeon fumbled for the seat lever.
The driver’s seat slowly reclined, and her back was raised.
One streetlamp light dimly illuminated the car window, and beyond the windshield, the night view of the Han River flowed in the tilted vision.
She grabbed Hyun-soo’s shirt collar and pulled him towards her.
“Aggressive?”
“I don’t want to go home.”
She whispered into Hyun-soo’s ear.
“I’m the same.”
Hyun-soo smiled.
Jung Na-yeon’s legs touched Hyun-soo’s legs over the console box. The parking lot was dark, and there were only the two in the car.
As Hyun-soo’s body leaned towards the driver’s seat, Jung Na-yeon spread her arms on the reclined seat to receive him. Their bodies overlapped in the narrow driver’s seat space, and Jung Na-yeon’s back pressed against the seat leather. Hyun-soo’s lips descended again, opening her mouth and sticking out her tongue.
“Choo…”
“Chop… Chooop…”
The sound of kissing echoed in the dark car.
Jung Na-yeon’s hand delved into Hyun-soo’s shirt and groped the bare skin. The fingertips climbing over the abs were trembling.
“Haa… It’s heavy.”
Jung Na-yeon exhaled breath between kisses but didn’t push him away.
“Heavy?”
“Yeah…”
Instead, Jung Na-yeon spread her legs to allow Hyun-soo’s waist to fit between them.
Hyun-soo’s lips moved down along the jawline to the neck, and she tilted her head to expose her neck.
“Haa…”
Jung Na-yeon exhaled hot breath.
Hyun-soo licked the nape of her neck and continued caressing down to the clavicle. Jung Na-yeon grabbed Hyun-soo’s back hair and pulled him towards her chest.
“If someone passes in front… what then…”
Jung Na-yeon turned her head to check out the window.
“Don’t worry.”
But Hyun-soo’s words were firm.
The parking lot was still dark, and only one streetlamp light was far away.
Jung Na-yeon, reassured, turned her gaze back to Hyun-soo.
Hyun-soo’s hand started unbuttoning the blouse buttons, and Jung Na-yeon didn’t grab his wrist.
Instead, she used her own hand to unbutton the two lower buttons first.
The blouse opened, revealing a soft purple lace bra under the night view light.
Jung Na-yeon’s chest rose and fell with her breathing.
“Look.”
Hyun-soo admired her chest line wrapped in the bra for a moment.
Feeling the gaze, Hyun-soo pulled the shirt buttons and tried to take it off. In the narrow driver’s seat, the clothes tangled, and Jung Na-yeon giggled.
“Because the car is narrow… I’ve wanted to do this since earlier.”
“Straightforward?”
“You don’t like it?”
“No.”
Jung Na-yeon placed her palm on Hyun-soo’s bare chest.
She opened her mouth as if whispering into Hyun-soo’s ear.
“Shall we go to the back seat?”
Her hand fumbled Hyun-soo’s pants waist and asked.
