Chapter 7
Chapter 7
The Mad Priest of the Slums #7
Knock. Knock. Knock.
“…Ugh…”
Olivia, awakened by the knocking, frowned slightly and pushed herself up, her smooth brow creasing.
[1:28]
It was early—even by a courtesan’s standards.
Just six hours ago, she had drained a newly rich dungeon raider dry and sent him out in nothing but his underwear.
Considering the time spent cleaning up and showering, she had barely slept three hours.
Anyone would be irritated.
“Olivia, sorry, but I’m coming in.”
The madam’s voice—kind even before Olivia became the establishment’s ace—was followed by the sound of a key turning as the door opened.
“Good, you’re awake.”
“That’s not good at all. My skin will be ruined like this.”
“You’ll recover quickly while you’re young.”
The madam sat on the bed and gently brushed Olivia’s hair as she suppressed her irritation.
“Sorry, but you’ll need to get ready.”
“For who?”
“Benjamin just contacted us. He’s bringing a very important guest.”
“…You’ve got to be kidding.”
Benjamin—the ruler of this violent, drug-filled district—was practically a god here unless someone was too far gone to think.
“When is he arriving?”
“No need to rush if you start now.”
“…Damn it. That explains why that idiot came crawling back last night.”
“Come downstairs when you’re ready.”
“Got it.”
The madam hugged her before leaving.
Left alone, Olivia sat at the vanity, careful not to tangle her hair.
“…He’s not going to take me as a concubine or something, right?”
She knew nothing like that had ever happened under Benjamin’s rule.
Still—
Life was unpredictable.
Rumor had it Benjamin had never once called for a woman.
And now—
He was bringing an “important guest.”
‘Ah, whatever.’
Overthinking was pointless.
She finished light makeup—appropriate for morning—and stood.
“Important guest, huh.”
She chose a white shirt with minimal exposure and tight black pants that emphasized her figure.
Unlike ordinary workers, top courtesans preferred less revealing outfits.
The goal was simple—
To stimulate the desire to dominate.
Like unwrapping a gift—
Men preferred the anticipation.
“Not bad for three hours of sleep.”
She tied her brown hair into a neat ponytail and went downstairs.
“Perfect timing.”
“He’s coming?”
“Soon.”
“Should I loosen a button or two?”
“If you chose a neat concept, stick to it.”
“…True. Then get me a larger size next time.”
“How are you still growing?”
“Like I asked for it?”
Then—
Knock. Knock.
“Get ready.”
“I know what I’m doing.”
She composed herself.
Hands folded neatly.
The door opened.
Both she and the madam bowed before even seeing the guest.
“Welcome to Moon’s Fairy.”
As she lifted her head—
She saw him.
Sharp features beneath neatly styled black hair.
“Keep it short. Go do your job.”
Benjamin lit his cigar.
“No drinks?”
“Don’t mind me.”
“Let us know if you need anything.”
As the madam stepped aside, Olivia approached.
“I’m the most well-known courtesan here.”
She smiled—half business, half genuine.
“I heard it’s your sleep time. I apologize for the inconvenience.”
“Not at all. Seeing someone like you is a blessing in this dull place.”
That wasn’t a lie.
“Please follow me.”
He was different.
Calm voice.
Composed presence.
Nothing like the crude men here.
Already—
She felt better.
“This is our best room.”
The entire top floor.
“I’ll serve you—”
“No need. That’s not why I came.”
“…?”
‘What?’
He sat on the sofa.
She followed.
“Excuse me for a moment.”
“…?”
He opened a book—
And started reading.
‘What is this…?’
Not being desired—
That stung more than anything.
But—
He was a priest.
Not someone she could act freely with.
So she waited.
Watching him.
Then—
He closed the book.
Money suddenly poured into the air.
“Top-grade contract.”
His hand glowed.
The money vanished—
Replaced by parchment.
“What’s your usual sleep schedule?”
“…6 a.m. to 7 p.m.”
“So 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.”
“Yes.”
He took a parchment.
“Your name?”
“Olivia.”
“Beautiful name.”
“…Thank you.”
For some reason—
That felt different.
“I want to hire you.”
“…Hire?”
“Yes.”
She read the contract.
Summary:
During sleep hours—
If summoned—
She enters his dream.
Shows her face.
Does as she pleases.
Can quit anytime.
Pay:
10,000 Mora per summon.
‘…I get paid while sleeping?’
That was the real appeal.
“I’ll do it.”
“Sign here.”
She signed.
The parchment dissolved into pink smoke.
“See you tomorrow.”
He stood.
“Wait!”
She approached.
“…If you leave without touching me… it leaves a scar.”
He paused.
Then—
Opened his arms.
“I’ve never been to a place like this.”
She smiled.
“Then I’ll teach you properly.”
After he left—
The madam entered.
“Are you okay?”
“…I can’t take customers today…”
