Prologue — My Goal
Prologue
“I'm going to train the Knights into a sex slave knight order.”
Pfft.
Eric, seated across from me, sprayed out the drink he'd been sipping.
“You crazy bastard? What the hell kind of shit is that out of nowhere?”
“Think about it. The Knights are all young, beautiful, and sturdy.”
“So?”
“Here's the thing that doesn't add up. The Knights can carve up two-meter orcs covered head to toe in muscle—so why would they need to stay beautiful women forever?”
Eric's face twisted in sheer disbelief. If I didn't have the knowledge of The Tower of Babel, I'd probably be making the exact same expression.
“Nature doesn't do anything unnecessary. Would a slim body with big breasts ever be suited for combat? Obviously not.”
“That's true.”
“But if you pour the energy that should go toward fighting into staying slim and busty instead, you lose the ability to do the one thing that matters most—the fighting itself.”
“I'll give you that.”
Eric nodded along.
“And yet the Knights are gorgeous, slim, and they fight well. Why is that?”
“...Maybe they just got beautiful from training themselves to the extreme?”
“That's the limit of a common mind. Try shifting your perspective.”
Eric made a baffled face.
“Say you're an omniscient, omnipotent god. And this god—you—wants a beautiful sex slave. So how would you make one?”
“Well, obviously... I'd make her beautiful and make her feel good.”
“That part goes without saying. But I'm going to live a long time. What if my sex slave ages early, or gets injured resisting me?”
Eric fell silent.
I continued slowly.
“She'd have to stay young forever. And she'd have to be sturdy. But those are secondary traits of a sex slave.”
“What do a sex slave's traits have to do with the Knights as they are now?”
Yes... that's the crux of it, isn't it. Even I had been unsure at first, after all.
Eric has no knowledge of The Tower of Babel, so his reaction was only natural.
But I know the truth of the past through The Tower of Babel.
“Let's say that in the age of myth, sturdy sex slaves were designed and manufactured on purpose.”
“Okay, and?”
“But then some kind of accident happened, and every god involved in making sex slaves vanished. Even so, for whatever reason, the production of sex slaves kept going.”
“Then what?”
“Nobody ever told the newly made sex slaves that they'd been created as sex slaves. So what happens then?”
“Well...”
“They'd think they were superior to humans because they're stronger. Wouldn't they?”
“...”
“And then, as it happens, the outside world turned into a place crawling with monsters. So of course those sex slaves would end up playing the role of Knights.”
“If that's true, then why don't the people above them know about it? They can't all be idiots.”
“It's because of those idiots that the Knights are doomed to nothing but endless, miserable slaughter. Being good at slaughter won't make the Knights happy—they were born to be sex slaves, after all.”
Eric just stared at me, dazed. He looked like he had plenty to say, but had simply given up on saying any of it.
Absurd, of course. Those noble, untouchable Knights—actually born as sex slaves?
“I will train the Knights and return them to what they truly are. That is... the only salvation there is for the Knights.”
