Flashback: Heena's Training Week and Idle Mansion Days
Past flashback: It had been a week since Seo Euna, Han Ga-eun, and Heena followed Yuna off to training. I mostly spent my time killing time at the mansion or heading out to see Heena when I felt like it. In other words, I had way too much free time on my hands.
"Ugh, it's so cold!"
"Hye-eun unnie, that's why I told you to wear something thicker."
"It was fine this morning though..."
As I passed by, I draped my jacket over Joo Hye-eun's shoulders while she sneezed and coughed.
"Eek?!"
"You'll catch a cold if you're not careful."
"Th-thank you, but I'm f-fine...!"
"I'm not cold, so wear it. Aren't you about to tidy up the garden?"
"W-well, yeah, but..."
"Who knows how long it'll take? You planning to stick around in that light outfit the whole time?"
"Ugh... no, not that..."
"It's not gonna wear out, so just keep it on."
"Th-thank you..."
Joo Hye-eun bowed her head deeply. I turned to one of the other two maids, Ha Joo-yeon with her wavy hair.
"How about the loan sharks? They not bothering you anymore?"
It had happened just yesterday. I'd used hypnosis on the thugs who were telling her to sell her body to pay off her parents' debt and sent them packing. A group of sketchy guys tailing a woman on her way home from work? It was bound to raise eyebrows.
—Now, all of you will never harass Joo-yeon again. You won't even look for her. It's a shame, but what can you do? It's the debt her parents racked up, not hers. From now on, quit the loan sharking and the thug life. Reflect on your past and repent your sins.
They were probably off doing some honest, legal work by now.
"Pardon? Oh, yes...! It's all good now! Thank you!"
Ha Joo-yeon bowed her head deeply as well.
"No big deal."
It wasn't something worth all that gratitude. Anyone else with this app would've done the same.
"Geon-woo-nim, we'll handle the garden, so please head on up."
Baek Hwa-yeon, the last one with her ponytail, gently nudged my back.
"I'm bored. Mind if I help...?"
"No can do."
"You're on the same level as Heena young miss."
"Tidying is our job as maids."
Tsk. No dice, huh. Hypnosis would've made it easy, but I didn't want to use it for something like this. With no other choice, I turned and headed back upstairs.
"Phew... But isn't Geon-woo-nim seriously hot?"
"R-right? Unnie... If he'd stuck around longer, I might've lost it."
"You too? Me too..."
Those cute little things. Were they kicking me out because they were intimidated by me? Bold-faced liars. But it was adorable, so I let it slide.
"What the hell is this girl talking about?"
No, I'd gotten used to it. Just her usual bored joking around. After all, Dahyeon and I had been friends since we were kids.
That 'haha' from Dahyeon always carried some weird depth... or not. It was just her standard response.
Dahyeon's invite for 6 PM dinner. Probably meant she'd buy, like last time at the meat place. Or we'd chat till late night.
