Chapter 3 - Wise Academy Life
Chapter 3 - Wise Academy Life
Cecily Leblanc, the youngest daughter of the Leblanc family and a woman with exceptional talent in magic.
Perhaps because she was the youngest, pampered and raised with the most affection, she had a slightly tomboyish side and occasionally tended to be reckless, but the part Klaus remembered was, as expected, her serious masochistic streak.
Of course, it wasn't like that from the start; she was a powerhouse on the demon side who had been perfectly normal.
Even in the novel, she just died while opposing Yulia without ever revealing such tendencies.
Above all, Klaus himself had never written such a setting.
'I just wrote that she met her end laughing maniacally after realizing she couldn't possibly win against Yulia, but I didn't know it would change like this.'
Thinking that, Klaus looked at Cecily, who was standing in front of him with a very confident demeanor.
Even though she had already been thoroughly crushed once before, her face was full of excitement, as if that had never happened at all.
Others might look at Cecily and think she was a demon-like woman who didn't care about defeat.
Even Cecily herself would likely think that the feelings she currently held for Klaus were a kind of competitive spirit toward the Devil of the South.
'Competitive spirit, my ass. Her hidden sexual preference is just leaking out.'
Klaus thought that and lightly loosened his hands.
The Cecily currently in front of his eyes was certainly a demon woman with exceptional talent for 'magic'.
However, she was also a woman who was at the bottom, almost near failure, when it came to combat magic.
"Cadet Cecily. I saw the paper you were supposed to fill out, and it was blank."
"Yes, that's right."
"That's strange. I clearly said that combat magic prioritizes combat over magic, didn't I? If you only intend to use magic, I would think it's normal to take the basic magic or applied magic lectures."
"I was curious about where my limits lie. And I want to fill in my shortcomings and learn more because of that. That's why I applied for the combat magic lecture."
At Cecily's words, Klaus shook his head.
So, her magic was excellent, but she had absolutely no martial arts to support that magic.
And she was being unreasonably stubborn, saying she wanted to fill that martial arts gap right here.
If it were other professors, they would have yelled at her to go to a swordsmanship lecture or some other martial arts class.
But Klaus knew that she had entered this combat magic class with a plan.
As the youngest daughter of the Leblanc family, she had grown up hearing many stories about the Devil of the South, and she had a belief that if it were a lecture given by that man, she could fill all her shortcomings.
Cecily had been drawn by such things to come here.
The problem, however, was that in the process, she was awakening to a serious masochistic streak.
"You can't handle a sword or a spear, and you can't shoot a bow well like the elves. Since you don't know any martial arts, does that mean you intend to face me with only magic? You're too confident."
"I never think I can win. I just want to learn. Commander Klaus-nim! I've heard so many stories about you. Listening to those war exploits that even enemies or demons couldn't help but admire, I had a strong desire to meet you!"
"...."
"And I was so happy to hear that you had taken a professor position at the Academy."
Scratch-.
Klaus scratched the back of his neck and groaned.
The First Continental War lasted for over seven years.
Both the Western Alliance and the Eastern Demons suffered tremendous damage, and originally, the Eastern Demons could have seized the victory, but thanks to Klaus's performance, they ultimately had to admit defeat without gaining anything.
The reason they accepted defeat was not because the Western Alliance was strong.
On the contrary, the Western Alliance had no strength left to fight, while the Eastern Demons still had enough left to launch one more major offensive.
Nevertheless, they declared defeat because Klaus was unyielding, and they knew that if things continued, the war would drag on, so they swallowed their pride and bowed their heads for a smooth truce.
'Of course, Yulia's uncle's scheme was involved in that. He successfully swayed public opinion by spreading rumors that the Demon King was scared and had declared defeat.'
He was a real piece of work in many ways.
He used all sorts of dirty tricks to take his sister-in-law, and when she eventually died, he secretly poisoned his own brother to defile the daughter, Yulia, after binding her hands and feet so she couldn't do anything, and then he was crowned the new King with the support of the nobles.
And he kept Yulia as a plaything to torment whenever he got bored at night.
This was the pink future he dreamed of for himself.
'Why did I create such a character? It's truly a mystery of the century.'
Sighing, Klaus adjusted the wooden sword he was holding.
"Fine, Cadet Cecily. Then let's do this. You use magic. And I will not use magic."
"What? Ah, no, Professor! What are you saying?"
"You said you were confident in magic, and conversely, you're spouting nonsense about wanting to learn martial arts. Then I'll show you. No matter how great the magic you use, if your physical ability doesn't support it, you become the best prey."
Klaus channeled his mana, coating only the wooden sword, and pointed the tip at Cecily.
He meant that he wouldn't create a mana lump like last time to completely nullify her attacks, nor would he aim for an opening to make her like a professor with paralyzed limbs.
"...If someone else had said that, I would have gotten angry, asking if they were looking down on me."
"You can get angry. In fact, I am looking down on you."
"Yes. You are looking down on me. But I'll admit it. Commander-nim. No, Professor-nim, you have the qualifications for that. I've heard so much from my father, my mother, and many people in my family. Professor Klaus-nim. About your dazzling stories. Those things that are unbelievable, yet I have no choice but to believe because they really happened."
Woo-oong!-
As soon as the woman finished speaking, four glowing mana arrows appeared around her.
Considering Cecily had only used two shots previously, one could immediately tell that she was trying to spar by squeezing out her maximum power from the start.
"I'll try my best. To show you the power of the Leblanc family, Professor."
Klaus flicked the tip of his sword as if telling her to hurry up and start.
Almost simultaneously, two mana arrows tore through the air and charged in menacingly.
Unlike last time, these were strikes aiming for the opponent's vitals from the very beginning.
If they landed properly, even a fairly skilled person would have their insides churned and end up vomiting blood.
However, Klaus was absolutely not an "average" person.
Kwajik!-
'Hah?!'
Cecily opened her eyes wide and gasped.
There were no flashy movements, nor did he use mana to shatter them like last time.
Even though that man was only using a wooden sword infused with a little bit of mana, he had very simply cut her mana arrows and made them disappear on the spot.
However, Cecily didn't panic; she fired the next arrows and quickly prepared the next bit of magic.
This time, instead of aiming straight at Klaus, she added some movement, trying to create as much confusion as possible and create an opening.
Sshiiik! Shhh!-
The mana arrows flew around like snakes, dizzyingly decorating the space around Klaus.
With translucent blue tails, the movement was such that it didn't just confuse the viewer, but made it impossible to even properly focus one's vision on them.
"Hmm."
Kwajijik!-
But Klaus lightly slashed his wooden sword diagonally upward and killed even those arrows.
'A-as expected of Commander Klaus! The Devil of the South!!'
If he only had command ability, the demons wouldn't have admired him so much.
He was the one who, simply by commanding troops, would dodge all of the enemy's traps and simultaneously lure the incoming enemies into almost every trap, while also inevitably beating down any powerhouse who came at him.
When they rushed at him wielding spears and swords, the moment they showed an opening, that creepy mana lump would mercilessly beat their bodies, and the skilled demons who survived a fierce battle with him all described him as a monster himself.
It was exactly the same right now.
He wasn't using any magic attacks or defenses, only wielding a wooden sword.
Yet, far from landing a valid hit on him, Cecily couldn't even make him take a step back.
Looking at this far, one might evaluate his swordsmanship skills as immense.
But the reason Klaus could show such movements was because of the countless experiences that had been concentrated and concentrated again in his body.
'...Now, go right, soar up, then bend down... Now.'
Kwajijik!-
He already knew exactly how Cecily would attack.
He had grasped every single one of her small habits, and he was finished preparing to use them.
Klaus was determined to truly enjoy this round properly.
And there was not a single person who could stop such a man, the 'Creator' of this world.
Bu-woong!-
Cecily barely dodged the wooden sword that had reached right in front of her.
Although she didn't know how to handle weapons and didn't know any martial arts, she was by no means slow.
It was just that she had never felt the appeal of fighting by clashing directly, so she had preferred to perfectly suppress enemies with magic before they could approach.
Peo-eok!-
"Kyaak!"
Cecily, who had desperately tried to plant a mana arrow into Klaus's back.
However, the Devil of the South, as if he had been waiting for it, lightly twisted his body and dodged the attack.
Literally a paper-thin margin.
To someone else, it might have been an attack that would elicit a "That's a shame!", but anyone who knew how to read the situation would know that Klaus had dodged the attack with great ease, even while giving such a small opening on purpose.
Because immediately after, Klaus lightly swung his wooden sword and struck Cecily.
"Cough! Cough!"
Rolling on the floor, Cecily scrambled to her feet.
And as if to prepare for the next attack, she hurriedly cast a mana shield, but the attack did not follow.
Klaus was looking at Cecily from afar with his wooden sword hanging down.
"Have you caught your breath?"
"H-huff..."
"If you have, we'll go again. Cadet Cecily. If you intend to declare defeat, do it now. From the next attack, I will press you even harder."
"...Please come at me. Come at me even harder!"
As if harboring a determined will to be acknowledged by her opponent.
Cecily shouted that while clenching her fists.
'...Can't stop her. Shouldn't let her keep feeling pleasure like that.'
Cecily herself would still not know, and would not admit it.
Because she would think she was fighting like this out of a desire to fight even a little more against the great hero of the Continental War, the Devil of the South, the human man whom even the demons admired.
However, the body cannot lie.
Her breath growing slightly faster due to the pleasure, or the scent of a woman blooming implicitly.
Above all, the wetness flowing down a little more each time she was hit by Klaus.
'Right. She's that kind of woman anyway. I wasn't planning on throwing her away, so it's good to train her little by little.'
With his wooden sword adjusted, Klaus took another step forward.
It seemed he would have to visit that woman soon to teach her true pleasure.
"...."
"...."
Yulia looked at the woman in front of her.
Normally, she wouldn't have any particular feelings, but this time it was different.
"Natasha Belarus."
As her name flowed from the Demon King's lips, Natasha blinked.
She seemed to be questioning why he called her name not in his usual stiff tone, but with a voice that conveyed considerable emotion.
"You are my sparring partner this time."
That fairy woman who dared to flirt with the man she had her eye on.
It seemed she needed to teach that woman the bitter taste of fear.
