Prologue: I Became a Slit-Eyed Villain Character
Grand Fantasia is a god-tier game. At least, that's what I believe.
Who would dare trash-talk a game where gorgeous graphics, lifelike NPC reactions, and a rock-solid narrative all come together in perfect harmony?
Sure, the growth rate is agonizingly slow, one mistake means scrapping your character and starting over, there's no skip button to be found, ordinary controls don't stand a chance, the developers refuse to talk to the players… and so on. It has its share of petty flaws. But still — this game is god-tier.
Six years deep in my obsession with Grand Fantasia, I had seen countless endings and cleared most of the side quests.
Today, same as always, I finished my part-time shift and was planning to hop into Grand Fantasia… except something went a little wrong.
I got possessed into a Grand Fantasia character.
Naturally, I assumed I'd woken up as the protagonist, or at least some brilliantly gifted supporting cast member. Then something significantly worse happened.
A presence so thin it barely registered. A face that looked ready to blow away in a light breeze. A vacant expression that was always wearing that empty little smile.
I had possessed some random slit-eyed villain character.
And to top it off, this guy was about to make a contract with a demon and get beaten like a dog by the protagonists until he died.
"Haha. This is a bit of a problem, isn't it?"
But who am I? A six-year veteran — the absolute bottom-feeder sludge of Grand Fantasia.
"Shall we see what I can do with this?"
I had no intention of letting a hard-won second shot at life slip through my fingers that easily.
