The Elder Sister and Her 'Sisters'
Before arriving at the supermarket.
Yang Dami’s heart thumped violently with every step she took.
It was because she had shown such an embarrassing side of herself.
‘I must have lost my mind. Dammit, stripping down completely in front of him.’
She wanted to bash her own head in, but it was already done.
Her mind had gone blank the moment she heard that her older sister and Yang Dajun were leaving together, just the two of them.
The thought of having to feel that hollow emptiness again when Yang Dajun wasn't home...
‘I don’t want to be left home alone….’
That was why Yang Dami hadn't thought twice before throwing her clothes off.
She had revealed her naked body in front of her own ‘brother’.
The entire time she was changing, she kept glancing toward Yang Dajun, grumbling to herself.
‘Hmph, just try looking. I’ll punish you right away if you do.’
She kept looking. She was so preoccupied with Yang Dajun that she even got her clothes stuck.
Then, through the gaps in her fingers as she covered her face, Yang Dami ended up making eye contact with Yang Dajun.
‘W-what the. That idiot, he isn’t peeping right now, is he? It’s not like he’s some boy obsessed with girls. Ugh, seriously. Does he even want to see his little sister’s body?’
Heat surged up the back of her neck.
She snapped at Yang Dajun, saying whatever came to mind.
She could have just gone inside to change, but she insisted on staying right in front of Yang Dajun, struggling to put her clothes back on.
And so, Yang Dami rushed out to chase after the two siblings.
She spent the whole walk glaring at Yang Dajun.
Then, a strange girl came bouncing over, waving her hand.
It was right in the middle of walking with her sister, with Yang Dajun sandwiched between them.
“Oh? Dajun, hi!”
Her beige hair, tied to the side, swayed with every bounce.
Her bright, beaming smile matched her slightly tanned skin perfectly.
Yang Dami immediately looked to the side.
‘Ha….’
Yang Dajun’s arms twitched, and he hesitated. He couldn't hide his expression, and the corners of his mouth curled upward.
Yang Dami bit her lip.
‘The two of them knew each other?’
The only girl he should know is her, or at most, their childhood friend, Lee Yurim….
Yang Dami glared at the women surrounding Yang Dajun.
Her own sister, who was trying to whisk away the restless Yang Dajun who couldn't be left alone anywhere, and Chae Riji, who appeared out of nowhere to hand him chocolates.
‘Tsk.’
It was just displeasing.
Yang Dajun, always making things to worry about.
If it were any other time, she would have scolded him thoroughly.
‘Yang Dajun, you idiot….’
Yang Dami gently held her cheek.
Her cheek still stung, as if the heat from earlier remained. Every time it stung, her heart felt pricked as well.
“Hmph….”
Yang Dami redirected that pain toward Chae Riji.
Yang Dahee, standing beside her, was also shooting sharp, piercing glares.
Perhaps sensing the glares, Chae Riji, having handed the chocolates to Yang Dajun, prepared to leave.
Chae Riji waved both hands and said in a bubbly, excited voice.
“Dajun, let’s definitely hang out next time! I want to play with you, but you always say you’re busy. Just tell me whenever you have time!”
“Oh, yeah.”
Yang Dajun just kept nodding.
At that sight, Chae Riji smiled so wide her cheeks hurt.
His innocent demeanor made her heart flutter.
‘Dajun is so cute! Maybe because he’s a boy, he’s so shy. I want to talk more, but….’
She had no choice but to leave.
She often felt like she could sense the other person's feelings when she was with them.
Even now, while her heart was racing, the glares raining down on her pricked at her heart.
‘Ugh, it stings. It’s just like my older sister.’
It reminded her of one of her two older sisters.
Yang Dahee and Yang Dami, watching her silently with their arms crossed.
Chae Riji glanced at the two women and changed her mind.
‘Hmm, I guess it can’t be helped.’
She forced a smile and met Yang Dajun’s eyes.
She said goodbye in a high-pitched voice.
“Then I’ll get going! Take care, and you two have a safe trip as well!”
“Oh, yeah, take care.”
At the same time, she got a little greedy.
“That, I made it myself, so make sure to eat it!”
Chocolates she had made for her friends.
She had put a little extra care into them, hoping she might run into him.
With that, Chae Riji left the three siblings behind, waving her hands as she walked away, leaving her lingering regret behind.
Inside the supermarket.
The two sisters followed behind, with Yang Dajun leading the way.
Sometimes they would stand next to him to see what he was putting in the cart, only to step back a pace.
‘Hmph, he could just pick anything. As if Yang Dajun would know better. How great could anything he buys be anyway?’
Whenever he put something random in, Yang Dajun would put it back. This repeated.
Yang Dami kept up this pointless war of nerves, watching her brother.
She also snuck a glance at her older sister walking alongside him.
“Hehe.”
What was so pretty about him that she was smiling like that?
Her sister was a fool for her younger brother.
She spoiled him so much that Yang Dajun was out meeting girls without knowing how the world worked.
She thought a man like Yang Dajun needed a sharp scolding to come to his senses.
However….
‘Dammit, he doesn’t even know how I feel.’
Yang Dami stroked her cheek.
She pretended to fix her hair while gently stroking her head as well.
The brother who had hugged her, the brother who had hit her.
She looked at Yang Dajun with her lips pouted.
‘Hmph, this is me glaring at you.’
Even if he was a man, how could he hit a girl?
She was silently scolding her brother for breaking his little sister's heart.
As if he even knew, Yang Dajun just stood there blankly, blinking his eyes.
Then, he suddenly smiled.
‘You idiot, what’s so funny that you’re grinning like that!?’
Yang Dami widened her eyes.
She tried to glare at Yang Dajun.
But Yang Dajun was looking somewhere else.
‘…Are you looking at my sister? Ha, seriously. Yang Dajuuun….’
He was smiling happily while making eye contact with his own sister.
She almost blurted out something in frustration.
Yang Dami clicked her tongue and muttered.
“⋯What got into you?”
“What?”
“No, I mean, why are you suddenly caring about housework?”
She vaguely brushed it off, but Yang Dajun turned to look at her.
He replied that he was doing the grocery shopping for his sisters.
As he smiled while saying that, Yang Dami felt a sharp pain in her heart.
‘Is that how you smile at my sister…?’
She watched blankly as Yang Dajun walked away.
He was heading toward Yang Dahee.
Yang Dajun hugged his sister.
“Sister, I like you.”
“Hehe, Dajun. I like you too.”
“Hehehe.”
The two of them were making a fuss about how happy they were, like a couple.
Unlike her, burying himself in those large breasts, they looked more like a man and woman than siblings.
Yang Dami dug her nails into her palm.
‘Yang Dajun… She is your stepsister… and I am your real sister….’
A relationship that couldn't be severed, one that should be closer than anyone else's.
Yet, he was a ‘real brother’ who followed only his older sister around, not her.
Unlike his sister who hugged him with a smile, she was the little sister who had been slapped by her brother.
“Ah….”
Yang Dami’s nose stung.
She moved her tiny lips on her tingling cheek.
“Heung….”
Yang Dajun turned to look, but she couldn't bring herself to open her mouth.
Yang Dami’s eyes trembled as she muttered to herself.
“If I ⋯ do it, will you ⋯⋯ me too?”
“Huh?”
He blinked and asked back, just like always.
A reaction that was truly foolish and infuriating.
But Yang Dami felt an emptiness in her heart.
Recalling the weight of the palm he used to rest on her head, she raised her voice just a tiny bit.
“I asked if you’d take care of me like you do for her if I worked too….”
Her body grew hot.
She had to blink her vision away quickly.
She just fussed with her hair for no reason.
“W-what….”
She deliberately touched only other parts of her hair, afraid that the idiot might actually put his hand on her head.
But then.
“Hehe.”
A laugh came from behind.
The blurry figure outside her vision came into focus.
Another woman had wedged herself between the brother and sister.
“Dami.”
It was her older sister, Yang Dahee.
“Just focus on going to school.”
She was looking at her two younger siblings with pride, her eyes curved into crescents.
“Not Dajun, I’ll be the one to take care of you. Got it? Hehe.”
It was a warm smile, as always.
“Oh…?”
…Sister?
Yang Dami slowly took her hand off her head.
She tried to look toward Yang Dajun, but her sister was blocking the view.
The hand that had been reaching out fell limply.
‘Sister….’
Yang Dami almost bit her lip without realizing it.
An older sister who cherished her younger siblings.
She just tried to nod her head instead.
“Dami, I’ll do the work, so don’t worry too much. Okay?”
Yang Dahee was simply willing to sacrifice herself for her younger siblings.
Wedging herself between the two siblings was just a trivial bit of greed.
‘I’m sorry to Dami, but….’
She turned her head slightly to look at Yang Dajun.
The younger brother who had volunteered to go to the supermarket for her.
Yang Dahee was cheering internally.
‘Hehe, I thought we could go just the two of us.’
She had thought they could walk around just the two of them.
When Yang Dami had jumped out saying she was coming too, her mouth had felt a little bitter.
‘…Dajun and Dami, both of them are cute.’
Her precious younger siblings.
Now that their parents were gone, they were the only family she had left.
She loved her younger brother, but she cherished Dami as well.
Therefore, wedging herself between the two siblings was definitely not out of spite.
“Dami, just focus on school. Hehe.”
It must have been said purely out of a heart that cherished her younger sister.
The words the ‘older sister’ said after suddenly cutting in.
I chimed in from the side as well.
“That’s right, just focus on school. Hehe.”
I said that while peeking out from behind Yang Dahee.
As expected, Yang Dami furrowed her brows and retorted immediately.
“You idiot, you don’t even go to school yourself, and you’re lecturing me?”
“That’s not true. I’m going to go to school diligently.”
“Dammit…!”
Uh-oh.
Is she going to get angry again?
I covered my ears and cowered.
I waited for a long time with my eyes squeezed shut.
‘…?’
Yang Dami just turned away and grumbled to herself.
Her reaction was calmer than I expected.
I scratched my head.
“What are you doing? Hehe.”
“Hmph.”
I looked at Yang Dahee and awkwardly raised my cheeks.
As I smiled sheepishly, Yang Dahee tried to take the shopping cart from me.
“I’ll push it for you.”
“I can do it.”
“Give it here.”
I handed it over.
I tried to put my hand on it out of courtesy, but even that was refused.
She was basically telling me to just follow along beside her.
‘Yang Dahee, she really has charisma.’
A woman like this only smiles at me.
She must be pushing it for me right now because she’s thinking of me.
‘Hehe, I want to hug my sister.’
Since she doesn’t see me as a woman anyway, wouldn’t it be okay to hug her a little?
I looked for an opportunity to pretend I was tired.
I planned to throw a tantrum and cling to her.
But.
“Sister?”
“Why.”
“Um, never mind.”
We’ve been going back and forth a bit.
This is a bit strange.
“…”
It’s strange.
“Sister?”
“Yes.”
“Isn’t this where we were before?”
“No, it’s not.”
“Okay.”
She says it isn’t… but I don’t think so either.
I said it again.
“Sister?”
“Ah, there was something that looked better. Are you tired?”
“A little?”
“Hehe, just bear with it a little longer. We’ll be done buying things soon.”
It wasn’t true.
We kept going back to the same place we had been before.
I had just seen it, and now I was seeing it again.
Yang Dahee was going around in circles in the same spot.
‘Dahee?’
