Prologue: Glad You're Dead, You Bastard
I don't believe in justice.
A villain's end is nothing more than the self-destruction of a man who made too many enemies. It is not the work of some will reaching down from the heavens to intervene.
And yet, even I had no choice but to believe that something called justice truly exists—when faced with an outcome like this.
The savior-hero heaven itself had sent down. That oh-so-noble hero, who wore the mask of a gentle lamb and toyed with people's hearts as he pleased.
Having carried out his duty so splendidly, he meant to claim for himself honor and treasure that no one else had ever obtained.
And then he died. His body may still linger in this world, but he is as good as a corpse.
I have no choice but to admit it. Someone in the heavens is watching over us.
With the hero's death, the mission that had dragged on for three long years came to an end.
It should have ended....
Why is it still going on?
