Chapter 162
Barkan looked pretty pathetic. "Kuh, th-that doesn't mean you have to get so mad, right?"
"Shut the fuck up, you crazy bastard! Don't you have a brain?"
I sighed as I watched Barkan, the thick-headed dragon wannabe, take that insult right to the face. I'd already pieced together the gist of the situation. After all, he'd sent his little sister my way, so it was obvious he'd been gunning for Kamara himself. Sure, a hero's seed was valuable, but in a desert tribe that claimed descent from dragons, a real dragon held a whole other level of prestige. For Barkan, this was an opportunity he couldn't pass up, and the bastard had bravely—or stupidly—snuck into her lodgings under the cover of night.
I wasn't particularly pissed about it. Barkan was just like his sister, eyeing Kamara purely for her superior genes, and there was zero chance she'd go for a loser like him anyway.
"I-I just need one kid…."
"What a fucking moron. Why the hell would I pop out a whelp for an inferior piece of shit like you?"
Exactly. Kamara's brain wasn't her strong suit, but she saw herself as leagues above any human. To her, they were little more than bugs, and no matter what tricks Barkan pulled, seducing her was damn near impossible.
Well, I could probably figure something out….
I watched as she stomped all over his body with a face full of fury. Transformed into human form, she was flawless in every way, but maybe because Barasia had gotten me all riled up earlier, Kamara's features struck me as even more stunning than usual. Having already sampled humans, rabbitkin, beastkin, elves, and even demonkin, I was starting to get curious about what a dragon pussy might feel like.
"B-but we're descendants of dragons too…."
"What bullshit are you spewing, you fuck? Why would a dragon give birth to a human? Huh?"
But if I made a move right now, I'd end up just like Barkan—beaten to a pulp. As I stood there watching Kamara vent her rage, Barasia finally showed up late to the party.
"Wh-what… is this?"
Barasia couldn't hide her confusion at the sight of her brother getting one-sidedly thrashed by Kamara. In the desert tribe, Barkan was treated like a solid leader, so seeing him get dog-piled like it was the hottest day of summer was a rare spectacle.
"Urk. Just… just think it over one more time. You and I, we're connected by blood…."
"You perverted fuck? If we're connected by blood, that's incest, you freak!"
"N-no, that's not what I—"
Even under Kamara's merciless beating, Barkan showed no signs of giving up. The problem was, the more stubbornly he clung on, the uglier the tribe members' and Barasia's faces got.
Yeah, definitely. A guy begging like that is just pathetic.
Feeling like it was time to wrap this shitshow up, I stepped forward.
"Calm down, Kamara. And you too, Barkan."
"Mm? Hero, stay out of this. This is a grave matter for our tribe."
I sighed at Barkan, who shot me a serious look through his battered face. The guy was beyond disappointing already, but somehow, he just kept digging deeper.
"Look, use your common sense. They lay eggs, right? How the fuck is a human supposed to hatch from an egg?"
To convince him, I launched into a crash course on dragon biology. Half-elves popped up now and then, but dragon-human hybrids were just fairy tales cooked up by storytellers. No one without even basic education would buy that mammals and reptiles could interbreed.
"Heh. Hero, you only know half the story."
"What?"
"Our founder was born from an egg. What does that tell you? We're the true descendants of dragons."
This guy's for real….
I grimaced at Barkan, who spoke with all the gravity of a prophet. Egg-born founder myths were a dime a dozen. I didn't know the desert tribe had one too, but even the founding legend of Carshian Kingdom, where Kamara's lair was, claimed their ancestor hatched from an egg.
"That's just bullshit you tell yourselves to sound special."
"What? Are you insulting our tribe?"
Barkan barked in outrage. I glanced around to see if the whole tribe bought into this crap like he did. Even his sister Barasia was blushing in secondhand embarrassment at her brother's antics.
Did the goddess nerf this idiot's brain too?
I stared at him in disbelief and gave up on reasoning. As I shut my mouth, Barkan smirked triumphantly and turned to Kamara with smug confidence.
"See? Even your companion has no objections, so let's make a child—"
"Die, you retard."
I could only let out a hollow laugh at the tiny flames flickering around Kamara.
* * *
"Do I really have to travel with this crazy fuck?"
The next morning, Kamara shot a glare at the bruise-covered Barkan and grumbled at me. After getting his ass handed to him the night before and passing out, he chuckled and jumped in.
"If you hate it, I won't push anymore. But know this: I'm always open to you."
"Open my ass, you lunatic!"
Kamara snapped irritably, but Barkan just laughed heartily. I shook my head at the pair and climbed onto the camel he'd prepared.
Kamara looked reluctant, but wandering the desert without a guide was suicide, so we had no choice but to rely on him.
"You do know where we're going, right?"
With his credibility in the toilet, I double-checked. He thumped his chest proudly.
"Trust me. No one knows the desert better than I do."
We followed the boastful bastard out of the desert tribe's village. Once we left, all that stretched before us was endless sand. Nowhere to get your bearings—just dunes as far as the eye could see. Even I had to admit Barkan was essential now, and Kamara grudgingly agreed.
No landmarks anywhere, but he led without hesitation.
"How far is the Demon Army camp?"
I called out to Barkan, who rode ahead. The sun scorched like it could melt flesh, and the air was bone-dry. My immortal body and Kamara's draconic resilience shrugged off the heat, but the desert's oppressiveness still grated.
"Impatient, aren't you? We just left the village. Don't worry, hero—it's not far from here."
I sighed lightly at his overly dramatic reply to such a simple question. At least it was good news that the camp was close. It was time to put my plan into motion.
Since I'm here, you should come out to greet me, Lilite.
A smirk tugged at my lips. Moments later, I spotted her true form hurtling toward us in a panic from the distance.
* * *
"Y-you… crazy bastard. Hahk."
The first words out of Lilite's mouth as she landed before me, Kamara, and Barkan were exactly that. Flapping her bat-like wings, she twisted her lower body desperately, and I confirmed the dwarves' gift was working perfectly.
"Long time no see, Lilite."
"Hahut… st-stop it already. Turn this off f-first… hngaaah."
Mid-sentence, she let out a lewd moan and plummeted to the sand. I'd just cranked up the vibration intensity on the miracle device lodged in her ass.
As her body hit the ground, a puff of sand rose. When it settled, there she was, hips bucking wildly all on her own.
"Hngut… haaaang."
"Mm."
Barkan let out a short grunt at her obscene writhing, while Kamara just stared down at the crazy bitch like she was insane.
