Just What I Put In (1)
“My God!”
I bolted upright in bed the moment I opened my eyes. It was Monday. 9 a.m. I'd overslept because of the fatigue from adventuring.
“Why didn't you wake me up?!”
I jumped out of bed and hurriedly changed clothes. Melissa must have already gone to work since she was nowhere in sight. I'd wash up at the academy. I grabbed my bag and headed out in a rush, but then I spotted a note on the table.
You looked so tired, honey. I'll tell them you had an errand this morning so you couldn't make it. Eat lunch and then come in. Love you ♡
Whew, saved.
I set my bag down and let out a sigh of relief. Thanks, Melissa.
Thirty minutes later, I stepped out of the mansion looking much more put-together. I wanted to take the whole morning off like Melissa suggested, but thinking of the RS group kids made my sense of responsibility kick in—I couldn't help but head in early.
Adventurers normally need at least a week to a month to recover after a dungeon run, but with my side gig, I didn't have that luxury. That's why I'd slept in without realizing it. The mana I'd burned through over the weekend hadn't fully recovered yet. My wrist ached from gripping the sword, my body was stiff, and yawns kept coming.
Just one more year, then I'm quitting. Teaching isn't for me.
“Melissa said Hazel came by on Saturday... probably asking for that thing, huh... Hmm.”
I strode along, replaying the weekend's events in my mind. One that stood out was my conversation with Sophia.
“Um... just this once, okay? I don't usually rush you like this. It's my second child's birthday today, so I had no choice...”
It was right after we'd finished hunting and arrived at the guild yesterday. Sophia looked apologetic, thinking she'd cut the adventure short by whining.
I just smiled at her. “No worries. We got everything done.”
“That's a relief. Um... are you adventuring next week too?”
“Yeah, planning to. You coming along?”
“If it's not a bother, could I join you?”
Her expression gave her away. With so many warp mages who could handle up to 170 kilometers, competition was fierce, so she wanted steady clients. Plus, I only picked the tough, risky adventures, so companions paid triple the usual escort fee to warp mages. Fees varied by distance too, and since I maxed out at 170 kilometers, I paid extra.
She seemed pleased with the pay and wanted to tag along next week too... but sorry, no dice.
“Next week's spot needs a warp mage who can do over 200 kilometers. I'll go with someone else. Next time we hit somewhere else, let's team up. Leave your contact, and I'll reach out.”
She blurted out urgently, “I think I can do over 200 kilometers too!”
“Huh? Can you really bump from 170 to 200 in just a week?”
“I can! I'll prepare to warp over 200 kilometers by next Saturday!”
I couldn't tell if she was serious or bluffing. Extending warp range isn't easy. It's tied to personal talent—some are stuck at 50 kilometers for life, while geniuses hit 2,000. Talent usually shows in the late teens or early twenties. She's late thirties. If 170 was her limit then, it'd probably stay that way forever.
She didn't seem like a liar... Who knows. Her determination was off the charts, and she'd helped big time catching that prince earlier, so maybe as thanks, give her a shot. Hey, she'd been out of adventuring for two years—maybe she had some secret technique I didn't know.
“Alright then, let's go together.”
Lost in yesterday's memories, I'd arrived at Buzdra Academy before I knew it. The front gate was bustling with nobles in fancy attire and carriages everywhere. Looked like outsiders.
Some big shot here?
Judging by the crests on the carriages, they weren't from our kingdom. Crests I'd never seen before. I gawked at the strangers as I headed inside.
A bit later, I opened the classroom door and saw only Lydia slumped over her desk.
“Hey, Lydia.”
I set my bag on my seat and greeted her. She just waved without lifting her head from the desk.
Looking around, I spotted Angelina's and Hazel's stuff. Third period now—they must be in lecture. Doing fine without me. Good kids.
“Sounds naggy, but I'm making you study no matter what. Can't have you sleeping in class every day.”
“……”
Unlike her wave earlier, now she was pretending to sleep, face down. No reaction. She clearly hated my words. But I had to clash with her eventually. I was mulling when to schedule the duel day—the day I'd drag her kicking and screaming to lectures.
As class assistant professor, I couldn't let her keep this up. Soon, I'll give her a stern talking-to and chase her to the lecture hall. Building up my resolve for now.
Suddenly, my hand paused as I hung my coat on the rack. Wait a sec.
Couldn't I heal Lydia's burn scars all over her body with my semen? It erased the knife scar on Melissa's back...
But head to toe, slathering everywhere? To erase all those scars, how much would I have to cum? My balls would be drained dry.
Clank.
The classroom door suddenly opened. TA Anne poked her head in with her usual bored expression.
“Saw you from the window, so I came. Knew you'd be here.”
“Hey.”
“Come out. They're gathering all the assistant professors for an event.”
“Oh, got it.”
I shrugged my coat back on and stepped outside. That's when I ran into Alicia, dressed sharply in her uniform with pretty makeup—clearly dolled up for the event.
“Even the assistant professor I can't stand showed up.”
Her blonde straight hair gleamed, skin snow-white, legs endlessly long—it was dazzling. But the goddess spotted me and narrowed her eyes.
“I only said stuff to Angelina. What'd I do to you? To me?”
She brought up last week's classroom incident out of nowhere—the one where I'd chewed out her arrogant clique. Still hung up on it? What a grudge-holder.
“I'll give you till the end of the week. Apologize properly, with manners. If not, next week, Assistant Professor Naru won't be seen at this academy anymore. Don't believe me? Watch, I'll make it happen.”
Fire me, huh. I couldn't help but laugh.
“Fire me now.”
Why drag it out? Her flustered face was priceless.
The academy event hall. On the podium sat Buzdra Academy's Principal Robert and Shreider, the legendary former Mercenary King from the neighboring kingdom's academy.
“Buzdra students are all so impressive and dashing. I'm jealous.”
“Keh heh, Shreider Academy kids hold their own too.”
Mercenary King Shreider. A man whose fame spanned the world for his peak achievements. Retired at sixty from adventuring, he'd founded 'Shreider Academy' named after himself. Today was the sister-school signing between Shreider and Buzdra Academies.
“Students of our Buzdra Academy consider forging ties with Shreider Academy a great honor...”
Neatly dressed Alicia took the stage as student rep, reading her speech.
The seats on the first, second, and third floors were packed with some students, reps from both academies, and guests. Assistant professors watched from behind the professor seats.
“Ugh, that guy. Makes me wanna chew him out so bad.”
In the 12th-year Synthesis Department assistant professors' seats. Wigrev glared at Naru, sitting far off, and snorted.
“You talking about that Naru guy?”
“Yeah. Last week, he got on our Alicia lady's nerves, and soothing her took forever. And get this—he told me to shut up.”
“The nerve, to you? Rude newbie.”
“Cocky as hell.”
“Ignore him. He's got RS group in Synthesis—won't last. That's the dumping ground for those with no shot at full professor. He'll rub people wrong for a few months and vanish.”
Wigrev smirked at the neighboring assistant prof's words.
“That cools me off. Speaking of, guy's life is a dumpster fire. Got divorced for being useless, latched onto the academy for a cushy spot, but ends up with the trash assignment. Heh heh. Can't wait to see what happens next.”
“He'll burn out teaching failing rejects and quit.”
“Haha. Yeah.”
Meanwhile, in another building's alchemy classroom. An elderly professor shook the potion bottle Hazel had just made, exclaiming in awe before the students.
“Oho... Hazel. You really made this?”
“Yes.”
“Purity's incredible. PhD level. Hazel, you're top of the exam.”
“Really!? Thank you, Professor!”
Hazel beamed amid the students' applause. The professor, intrigued, kept questioning her.
“Your elixir uses techniques I didn't teach. Where'd you learn? From a seasoned alchemist?”
To his curious gaze, Hazel proudly replied.
“Never studied under a pro alchemist. Just with our assistant professor.”
“Assistant professor? Who?”
“Naru, in charge of our Synthesis RS group.”
“Naru... That adventurer who was briefly famous two years back?”
“Yes. Thanks to his great teaching, I made top-quality elixir for the exam.”
In truth, she'd never learned alchemy from Naru, but Hazel kept name-dropping him.
“Assistant Professor Naru teaches so well and is such a good guy. Days with him are always fun.”
“Is that so? Good for you.”
The professor strolled back to his desk, muttering to himself.
“Turning perennial failures into top students in no time... Must be one hell of a teacher. Hmm. Gotta ask his secrets next time we meet.”
