The Genius Engineer's Legendary Territory - Prologue
“Development budget … development budget is lacking …”
Those words had become a daily mantra, etched into my lips. Not only me—world-renowned doctors had repeated them endlessly, along with my colleagues nearby.
How could the greatest desire of every researcher not be, “I want to do research without worrying about money”?

It was the same feeling I had when I led the robotics engineering world to a revolution.
Graduating from Seoul National University and completing my MS and PhD in robotics engineering at MIT, I immediately launched the Universal Supporter Project and produced a masterpiece of the ages.
Multi-movement modes, refined autonomous terrain analysis, touch and visual sensors that transcended existing common sense, 360-degree joints that lightly mocked durability limits, and a neural system mimicking the human nervous system—features that went far beyond modern robotics development mechanisms.
The BUS-1001 achieved feats that could almost be summarized as “revolutionizing the mechanisms of modern robot development.”
As a result, it swept awards including the IEEE Robotics Automation Award, the Henrik Award, the DARPA Challenge, the Engelberger Robotics Award, and countless others.
And the most prestigious of all, the Nobel Prize in Physics.
— The 2028 Nobel Prize in Physics is awarded to Professor Bo-jun Noh of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Professor John Hopkins of Stanford University.
The first Korean to receive the Nobel Prize in Physics.
Having a Korean name on the illustrious list of award recipients was an achievement that the entire nation welcomed.
Everything I had endured until then felt like it was being washed away.
I returned to my homeland, Korea.
With an achievement like this, even in Korea, I figured they would provide a lot of support.
Everyone had tried to stop me from going to Korea, but I forced it. I know myself well. Once something stuck in my head, I kept pushing forward until I succeeded, no matter how stubborn I was.
And I realized why outstanding scholars had not emerged in Korea until now. Why, despite so many brilliant people being born every year, there were no grand results?
The price of stubbornness was heartbreaking.

【Light and shadow. The double life of Noh Bo-jun? The dark side of the genius the world loved.】
I had only done my job of earnestly researching and developing.
Double life? If I had a life, sure. But my life was almost being locked inside a research lab for twenty-four hours.
I exploded in anger. Even though I tried to explain myself, the public wouldn’t listen.
The once-glorious reputation and burning gazes that had shone upon me suddenly turned into sharp knives, stabbing straight into my heart.
Why had it turned out this way? It was obvious. They had simply taken revenge against me for not meeting their ridiculous demands, all because of their petty pride.
“Tsk.”
I tried every way I could to return.
If I produced results, they would notice me again. I thought that asking for help from colleagues overseas would allow me to recover.
“Take me to Incheon Airport Terminal 1, please.”
“Yes, sir.”
The taxi driver glanced at me in the rearview mirror.
Even though I wore a mask and pulled my cap low, the suspicious looks continued.
“Sir, why are you going to the airport alone at this time?”
“…” I had something to do.”
“What kind of business is it?”
“……”
I stopped answering and looked out the window.
The night view of Seoul from the wide open Olympic-daero highway was still beautiful. That was the sight I had missed so much. But now, why did these lights feel so oppressively hot?
Buuuaaaaaaang!!
A massive cargo truck suddenly blared its loud horn and collided with the taxi.
There was no time to react.
The car crumpled, the guardrail twisted like crumpled paper, and it flew toward the Han River.
My body, without even wearing a seatbelt, bounced around like laundry in a washing machine, becoming rags.
‘Is this how I die?’
There was so much research I still hadn’t done. It wasn’t about missing life, but the regret for research was far too heavy.
‘In my next life, if I were born into a wealthy family …’
Then I wouldn’t be able to research as freely as I wanted.
I closed my eyes, which had been closing and opening in a swirl.
“Young master, wake up.”
“…” Huh?”
When I opened my eyes, I had become the third son of the Bladewyn family, the notorious idiot.
