The Boss is an Elementary School Student
The boss was an elementary school student! Despite the low 1-in-5 odds, Arima had become a mother, and though he struggled to accept it, the roulette result wasn't about to change.
In the end, he gave up resisting and accepted his new role. Together, we headed to the lab, where Arima finally voiced his complaints.
"Eight? Now that I think about it, the boss has blonde hair, doesn't she? Neither of us is blonde, so how exactly are we supposed to play the parent roles? At least one of us needs to be blonde, or it just won't make sense. So—"
"Don't worry about that. I already prepared something for it."
"……Prepared something?"
Arima asked, looking bewildered. Without a word, I showed him a vial of shimmering golden liquid. His eyes widened in disbelief.
"Hair dye? Don't tell me you're planning to dye our hair blonde right now."
"Well, if you call it hair dye, then yes, it's hair dye. Go ahead and drink it."
"Drink it? Hair dye?"
He looked utterly baffled—hair dye was supposed to be applied to the head, after all—but after a moment, Arima cautiously downed the vial. Even after finishing the entire bottle, nothing seemed to happen. He stared at his unchanged body, then shot me a suspicious glare.
I shrugged lightly.
"Look in the mirror."
"The mirror? I already told you, nothing's changed…… Huh?"
Crack—! The moment Arima looked into the mirror, a chilling sound of bones shifting echoed through the room. Startled, he froze as the transformation continued. Crunch, crack—! His face grew more feminine, more delicately beautiful with each passing second.
His hair shifted from the roots outward, turning into radiant blonde strands that shimmered all the way to the tips. His once-solid masculine muscles softened into curves, and a subtle chest began to form.
Before long, the mirror reflected a stunning woman who looked exactly like what Regalia might grow up to be. Arima let out a hollow laugh.
"Even polymorph magic isn't this simple……"
"You have polymorph magic? You never mentioned it."
"It's nothing special. Not exactly a high-quality spell♠. All I can do is turn into an exact copy of the boss. There's no magic that lets me become her mother like this."
He explained that copying someone who already existed was easy—just observe and replicate. But imagining and transforming into someone who didn't exist was far more difficult. To change into an older version of someone, you'd have to visualize their aged appearance in your mind, which was incredibly taxing. Forcing it often resulted in missing ears, a sunken face, or other deformities. Besides, mages rarely needed to impersonate others, so such techniques had never been developed.
"If you're going to transform, why bother becoming a lookalike? Just turn into the real person."
"That's true, I suppose."
"And more importantly—polymorph is advanced magic. Mages capable of using it have no reason to imitate others."
Listening to Arima, I realized magic wasn't omnipotent after all. It was more like a tool or machine—its effectiveness depended on the user's skill rather than producing identical results for everyone.
For magic to be all-powerful, its user had to be all-powerful. Only someone who could achieve anything without magic could truly make magic omnipotent. It was a paradox.
"What exactly is this made of? I can't even begin to guess."
"Ah…… It's the boss's hair."
"……The boss's hair? Why do you have that, Eight?"
"I asked the secretary for some, and she gave it to me……"
"She did……?"
In that moment, I could practically read Arima's thoughts without any magic. He was definitely thinking the secretary was a dangerous person. I had thought the same.
Who would have imagined that requesting something from the boss's body would result in a plastic bag full of hair being handed over? The feeling I'd had when I first saw it was beyond words.
I glanced at the remaining vial of golden liquid. This one had been made with extra care—not because I was the one drinking it, but because it was designed specifically for a man.
'It would've been easier if the boss were a boy……'
Unfortunately, the boss was a girl, which made extracting the masculine traits from her chromosomes incredibly difficult. There was no Y chromosome to work with. As a result, I had to supplement the missing Y chromosome with my own.
In other words, this potion didn't just make someone look like the boss—it made them look like a child of both the boss and me.
Gulp—!
"Ugh……!"
Crack—. After hearing the same bone-shifting sound that had come from Arima, I cautiously looked into the mirror. There was no doubt the transformation had succeeded. The way Arima's eyes sparkled beside me confirmed it.
However, the moment I saw my reflection, I realized the experiment had gone even better than expected.
……This is going to cause quite a stir.
E City's elementary school. During a parent observation class.
"W-Well then…… Who would like to solve this problem……?"
The children remained silent in response to the teacher's question. Normally, they weren't this quiet. Even when the parents had first entered, there had been some noise—nothing like this eerie stillness.
The children had only become so well-behaved after two particular parents walked into the classroom. The teacher glanced at their faces and instinctively understood why the students were reacting this way.
Even as a grown adult, she found herself swallowing hard at their appearance. Their charisma was unlike anything she'd expect from ordinary office workers. An air of dignity that seemed fit for royalty or nobility dripped from their very presence.
'Ria…… You said your parents were ordinary……'
The teacher shot Regalia a resentful look. Her personal information form had clearly stated that her parents were regular working adults.
But those two? How could anyone call them ordinary office workers?
'I could believe it if they were actual royalty.'
Looking at Regalia's appearance, her uniform, and the natural elegance she exuded, the teacher should have realized it sooner. Regalia wasn't from an ordinary family, and her parents were anything but ordinary.
The class dragged on awkwardly. The children lacked their usual lively energy, appearing almost intimidated, yet none of the parents complained.
Because they were intimidated too!
"Th-Then, who would like to read from the textbook……?"
"……I'll do it, Teacher."
"O-Oh? Would you like to read, Ria……?"
Understanding the atmosphere, Regalia stood up and took charge of the lesson. Her clear, beautiful voice filled the classroom, and her sweet tone began to gently melt away the children's tension.
If the two adults standing at the back were oppressive tyrants, then Regalia was a benevolent ruler who embraced her people completely.
The children found themselves drawn to the opposite kind of majesty she radiated. Body, heart, and soul—they would never forget the king named Regalia, carrying an anchor in their hearts for the rest of their lives.
Time passed, and the class ended. The children slowly made their way to their parents. Regalia did the same.
"……Eight?"
"Regalia. You did well with your presentation."
So he really is a scientist— Regalia, who had harbored her own doubts, let out a hollow laugh as she looked at Eight, who resembled her so closely that she could believe he was her real father. Though, she had only asked him to act as her dad, not to actually become one……
She was curious about how he had managed to look so much like her, but there was something else that puzzled her even more.
"If you're a scientist…… then who exactly is this?"
It was a woman who looked exactly like her—not a mother, but someone who could pass as an older sister. A blonde beauty. As far as she knew, no such woman existed in the evil organization.
Then who was this woman? Had the scientist gotten a girlfriend without her knowing? Surprisingly, that wasn't the case.
"It's me, Boss♠."
"……Arima?"
"Yes~ I'm Arima-mom."
Realizing the woman's identity, Regalia let out a groan. Arima? The world-famous magician Arima? Why was he dressed as a woman?
Regalia reached out and poked at Arima's chest, only to realize he wasn't simply crossdressing.
"Huh……?"
"Oh my."
Real breasts were there. In other words, it wasn't just crossdressing—Arima had actually become a woman. Regalia felt her mind spinning.
