Augmentor
Deep in the Cambodian jungle, hidden from the world, lay Prasup’s stronghold.
The special armored vehicle carrying Woojin rolled forward with a heavy engine growl, grinding over the shattered front gate and creeping toward the center of the fortress.
The outer defenses had already collapsed long ago.
“Wow, this is clean.”
That was because the goblin army Woojin had empowered with his Imbue skill had already swept through the fortress once.
“Nice job!! Go, goblin buddies! Smash everything!!”
Gabi clapped her tiny hands together and pointed with her fern-like little fingers out the window.
Progress: 78 / 100
Progress: 82 / 100
Progress: 89 / 100
The red count in the lower-right corner of Woojin’s vision climbed without pause.
Woojin stared expressionlessly at the number as it kept rising.
It doesn’t even feel like I’m killing anything...
It really did feel like a game quest counter ticking upward. But there was no hesitation.
“Woojin-nim, we’ve arrived. The place up ahead looks like the main base.”
From the driver’s seat, Catherine brought the vehicle to a stop and reported in a calm voice. The courtyard in front of the main building was pure chaos.
Prasup’s elite awakened fighters were desperately throwing skills, firing guns, and swinging every weapon they had, but none of it even scratched the goblins.
Clang—!
Clang—!!
Thanks to having three Imbue slots, the Asura Goblin Woojin had created stood out in particular.
Wielding a sword, spear, axe, and war hammer in its four arms, the Asura Goblin spun like a windmill and cut through the syndicate members like a human blender.
...That thing looks way stronger than me...
The magical barriers around Prasup’s awakened fighters were torn apart like paper, and the supplies piled in the armory were turned into goblins by Gabi’s power, only to turn around and pounce on their former masters.
...Gabi is broken as hell.
“Hmm? What’d you say, Appa?”
Woojin gently patted Gabi’s head.
“Nothing, Gabi. Our Gabi’s the cutest thing in the world.”
“Hehe, Appa’s cool too.”
With that adorable little face, she could still wipe out an entire country if she got angry. That was Gabi.
Woojin felt the weight of responsibility settle even deeper on his shoulders.
I have to raise Gabi right... keep her from going off the rails.
If Gabi ever did go off the rails, that might be the day Earth itself ended.
Catherine drew her beloved custom pistol and muttered under her breath.
“I’ll help as well, Woojin-nim.”
“Ah, but you’ve got your quest, right? You’d better hurry before Gabi finishes everything off.”
“Well, it doesn’t really matter if it’s not a human, so I can take my time. Still, I should keep at it.”
Catherine’s pistol had already been strengthened by Woojin up to +6.
If he failed an enhancement from that point, it would drop into negative territory, so he hadn’t bothered to push it any further.
Instead—
“Hand me the gun.”
Woojin took Catherine’s pistol, then picked up one of the weapons the Prasup bastards had dropped.
It was a gun with the Range Increase skill attached.
“Imbue.”
And then the Range Increase skill was imbued into Catherine’s pistol.
“Its range should’ve gone up quite a bit.”
Catherine’s eyes gleamed.
“Oh...! Then it’ll be much easier to do the quest.”
“Good luck.”
She, too, had been sharpening her eyes like a hawk for that insane quest of pistol sniping from a kilometer away.
On the top floor of Prasup’s headquarters, the firmly shut door to Wichit’s office was ripped away with a thunderous crash.
“Guhh...! Boss... P-please... run...”
What had been hurled through the doorway was Wichit’s last bodyguard, an A-rank enhanced warrior.
A massive shield-shaped impact crater had been stamped into his chest, and his bones were already reduced to powder.
Wichit’s hands shook violently as he clutched his sword.
In nine years of Unliworld, his pride had been forged at the edge of death again and again, and now it was crashing to the floor before a single intruder.
“...No way... No fucking way!! Why is it an Enhancer!!”
Step—
That was when Woojin pushed through the dust beyond the doorway and walked in slowly.
Perched on his shoulder was a little girl sucking on a candy with a completely innocent expression, and beside him stood a blonde beauty of a secretary with her pistol trained forward.
An odd and yet overwhelming combination.
Catherine spoke first.
“He looks like the enemy boss, Woojin-nim.”
“Looks that way. Hey, are you the boss?”
Woojin’s tone was so casual it sounded like he’d just gone out for a stroll.
Wichit swallowed hard and forced a grin onto his face.
“Kh, khahaha. That’s right! Kim Woojin, it’s been a while!”
Catherine’s eyebrow twitched.
“You know this bastard?”
“...Maybe? I feel like I should remember, but...”
“It’s Wichit!! You’ve seen me a few times, haven’t you!!”
Only then did Woojin clap his hands.
“Oh? You son of a bitch!?”
“It’s Wichit!!”
“No, the way you act, son of a bitch fits perfectly.”
Wichit ground his teeth and growled.
“You miserable bastard, you had this kind of power and still stayed so quiet in Unliworld!?”
“Well... I don’t think I need to explain myself to someone who’s about to die here. You should’ve known your place.”
Then Wichit gave a slimy smile.
“You made a mistake.”
“Huh?”
“I don’t know how an Enhancer like you can command that many goblins, but that just means killing the original body will solve everything!!”
And with that, Wichit let out a savage howl and lunged at Woojin.
“The mistake was showing yourself in front of me!! I’ll show you what nine years of combat class experience looks like!!”
Wichit was confident.
He had a berserker skill that let him ignore every attack for ten full seconds while still striking his enemy.
As long as he killed Woojin quickly enough, there was no doubt in his mind that the bastard would go down.
So Wichit charged straight for him.
“Woojin-nim!! Fall back!!”
Catherine cried out in shock and fired wildly.
Bang—!
Bang—!
Thwack—!
The bullets clearly struck home, but Wichit’s charge never slowed.
He was already cheering inside.
Got him! I’ve got him!
“Die!! Khahaha!!”
But then—
Gabi, riding on Woojin’s shoulders, flicked a finger.
“Blow up, pop-pop—!”
And a goblin hammer the size of a pillar appeared in midair.
Wichit’s eyes went wide.
“What—?”
The goblin hammer slammed into him without mercy.
Smash—!
Even his berserker skill that ignored attacks was useless.
Wichit quite literally burst apart on the spot and vanished.
Where he had stood, all that remained was a crimson smear of blood.
“...Gabi...”
“Mm? Appa?”
“No... never mind. Good job.”
“Hehe, Gabi did good.”
Woojin had intended to capture the boss and question him about every last criminal operation he was running, but Gabi had simply blown him to pieces with one hit, and that plan went straight down the drain.
Still, he couldn’t blame Gabi.
She had only been trying to protect him.
Progress: 100 / 100 complete!
You have completed the Enhancer second awakening quest.
“Huh, already?”
Proceed with second awakening? Y / N
“Catherine-noona, could you clean this up? Now that the boss is dead, let’s capture the rest of them and rip this whole criminal operation out by the roots.”
Catherine snorted softly.
“That’s Benedict’s specialty. Leave it to us.”
“Then I’m going to go ahead and do my second awakening.”
And Woojin pressed the Y button.
At that moment, his vision was flooded with pure white light.
A torrent of raw magical power far beyond a simple level-up wrapped itself around his body.
Oh... what is this...!
And deep inside him, the system began to rebuild itself from the ground up.
Congratulations!
By exploring the lives of 100 humans, your understanding has increased.
Woojin wanted to object.
Wait, I never explored any lives...
But the awakening kept going.
Second awakening complete.
Nothing had changed dramatically on the surface. As with most Unliworld classes, a second awakening mainly brought a significant rise in physical ability and improved efficiency for previous skills.
What mattered most, of course, was Body Enhancement.
“Are you done, Woojin-nim?”
Woojin nodded.
Catherine offered her thoughts with a dry smile.
“Hmm, nothing looks all that different.”
“It does look that way from the outside. But... I’ve got a skill now that’s kind of absurd.”
Catherine tilted her head, interested.
“What skill?”
“Body Enhancement.”
But Catherine’s expression was surprisingly calm.
“Isn’t that a skill Jo Ayoung used before Hercules? Body Enhancement for an Enhancer... that’s a little... no, wait... are you saying not that kind of Body Enhancement, but a Body Enhancement that Enhancers can use to enhance the body itself?”
Woojin grinned.
“Yeah. Looks like that’s exactly it.”
Woojin wanted to test the skill right away.
So he looked down at his own arm.
Name:Augmentor Kim Woojin’s Right Arm
Attack Power:60
Defense:85
Skills:-
Enhancement Options: Size (view details), Muscle (view details), Blood Vessels (view details), Bone Density (view details), Bone Strength...
“What the hell...?”
He was dumbfounded.
This wasn’t just a skill that strengthened the body; it was a skill that let him divide every single component of something called an arm into its own separate category and enhance each one individually.
When Woojin tapped the detailed list for size, the screen spread out everything that counted as the arm’s “size” — thickness, length, girth, and every other imaginable subcategory.
Of course, it also seemed possible to enhance the entire size of the arm in one go.
This was... a skill that could twist and reshape the human body as a whole.
“That’s ridiculous...”
Catherine asked in an intrigued voice,
“Was that what I meant?”
“Yes, that’s it, noona.”
“Good heavens...”
“I’m thinking of testing it...”
Catherine’s face lit up with anticipation.
“Do it!! Do it!! I’m so excited!!”
Woojin placed his left hand against his right arm and locked the enhancement onto size.
[Enhancement will now be applied to the overall size of Augmentor Kim Woojin’s right arm. Please use the Enhancement skill when prompted.]
Then came Woojin’s low voice.
“Enhance.”
And then—
Whoooosh—!
“????”
His arm felt as though it had swollen by about ten percent in one clean surge.
Since his existing enhancement ability increased an item’s power by ten percent, this body enhancement skill seemed to follow the same efficiency.
“Should I try a little more...?”
And so he enhanced it twice in a row.
And Woojin lifted his newly +3-enhanced arm.
“......”
Catherine’s face had also become utterly ridiculous.
“......W-what is this...?”
Gabi shouted happily,
“Waaah!! Appa’s arm got suuuper big!! You can win arm-wrestling now!!”
Woojin looked at the arm that had grown more than thirty-three percent larger than before and let out a low, stunned breath.
“Holy shit... this is insane...”
