Broadcast Day 2 - Q&A Content (2)
Is it because the rules for comments were set too easily? Or did I underestimate the depravity of humans?
I'll test if it's real!
Honestly, given my current state where I'm no longer human, those words didn't really feel like insults. In fact, there was no malice in the emotions coming from the viewer who spat them out. Well... there was a little, but curiosity outweighed the malice.
But intent aside, the other party had already made an Oath with me, and they had broken it. Therefore, the penalty I set would activate.
"For your information, the penalty of speaking only the truth includes everything: words spoken from the mouth, words written by hand, and even expressions made with the body."
Inappropriate language detected.
The viewer who was probably trying to beg for leniency from me had been forcibly kicked out. It was unfortunate for them, but in the end, it was their own choice.
Anyway, with that, the rules were set... I briefly wondered if I should set more rules, but quickly brushed it aside. This was my first time doing a broadcast. No matter how much I'd researched and studied internet streaming, it was all brand new to me. I'd have to fill in the rest with experience.
'At least with chat locked down, no major issues should pop up right away.'
I recalled that humans had many sayings about watching one's words. With the chat window—the space where viewers could speak—bound by the Oath, I could relax for now.
...Probably?
"Hmm~ Now then, what shall I do next..."
The viewers immediately started teasing. But surprisingly, they were right. I'd turned on the broadcast just to force some communication with humans, without deeply considering ongoing content to sustain it.
Of course, I had excuses.
"I did think about content... but sadly, I couldn't decide because I don't fully understand human emotions."
The identities of dragons and humans are starkly different. Dragons, who live far longer than humans, experience far less emotional fluctuation or desire. Thus, what we find entertaining differs greatly.
For instance, I enjoy soaking in magma to warm my body and lounging lazily. I do enjoy eating too... but unless it's truly disgusting, it's all just so-so, so I don't savor gourmet delights.
Other dragons... some collect shiny gems, others take pleasure in slaughter.
Even though I once was human... that actually made it harder to pick content, because I knew the differences all too well.
After explaining that, a variety of opinions flooded the chat. I picked one that caught my eye.
"IceFishMukbang's suggestion looks good. Yes. Then shall we do Q&A today?"
With my declaration, questions poured in. For an ordinary human, the chat scrolled too fast to verify properly. I glanced at the current viewer count.
A number at least ten times higher than when the broadcast started. To prevent the chat from overheating, I slowly opened my mouth.
"I said I'd do Q&A, so don't rush me, children. If you wish, I could answer all day long."
This body I was using was merely an avatar. If I wanted, I could sit here broadcasting 365 days a year nonstop.
"Of course, if I really did that, you'd be the ones suffering... So how should we do this..."
"Raffle function?"
Looking it up based on the viewers' suggestions, such a feature existed. It randomly selects one applicant viewer based on the streamer's criteria for a 1-on-1 chat.
"Perfect. Well done, children."
I praised the viewers and activated the feature. Thus, one out of the countless viewers was selected.
"Yes, child. Do you have a question for me? If it's something I can answer, I'll give you one, no matter what it is."
"Yes, that's what you were curious about."
I looked at my name in response to the viewer's question.
Heaven-Extinguishing Dragon (滅天龍) Grand Ragnar.
The divine name bestowed by the Dragon God at the moment I shattered my limits and achieved a feat even a dragon's mighty power could scarcely accomplish... Heaven-Extinguishing Dragon.
The title the world gave, watching the dragon who smashed its fated destiny from birth and made its name known... Grand.
And... the name I gave myself upon awakening my ego, to declare myself to the world... Ragnar.
"Thus, my true name is indeed 'Ragnar.' It was the name I created for myself when I was still young and weak."
But the divine name and title before it were also one unique name symbolizing me. Hence, my full name is Heaven-Extinguishing Dragon Grand Ragnar.
"If this were a broadcast for mere amusement like other humans', I might have used a pseudonym. But I wished to communicate with you humans as my true self."
Thus, I couldn't use a fake name. True communication requires approaching with utter sincerity. Though I couldn't appear in my true body's form and had to use a human guise... at least my name would be true.
"And just so you know... for a dragon, a name symbolizes pride and the status accumulated over time."
Thus, dragons with names cherish them deeply. There are cases where one fights to the death simply because a hated foe shares their name, or battles to steal a pleasing one.
"So, you must never mock a dragon's name or insult them with it."
This seemed like a smooth first answer. Though I'd given not one, but three responses... it should be fine to let it slide.
I continued to the next question.
"Hmm... I stopped counting after 10,000 years."
Next question.
"Real? Ah... you mean the trend among humans right now."
It referred to using magic to transform into a specific appearance or race for broadcasting. Of course, the result was similar. Humans transformed from human to other races, while I transformed from dragon to human.
"But it's a bit different."
"First, what you call a Real Avatar VTuber (RATuber) involves the caster's own body transforming."
I'd heard it used polymorph magic to alter appearance, race, mass, etc.
"But this avatar I'm using now is a completely separate entity from my true body."
I raised my right hand in front of the camera. Then, loosening control slightly on just the right hand, it began melting into metal.
Drip!
"Hm? Ah... Is this a bit stimulating for humans? My apologies."
I quickly restored my right hand. Hmm... Humans can't even handle this much... I made a mental note.
"Anyway... as you can see, this body is a separate flesh made from Dragon Gold extracted from my true body. My real body is currently soaking in magma."
The reactions here were intense. Anyway, on to the next question.
"I see. Hmm..."
This felt like a very important question. Indeed... the humans seemed to struggle pronouncing my name. Though names are vital to dragons... for communication's sake, I should yield a little.
I nodded.
"Very well. I have no nickname worth mentioning... Yes. Then why don't you all come up with one for me?"
And with that, the chat exploded more than ever before.
