Broadcast Day 4 - Collab with Daughter (2): Breaking News? The Tree in Our Yard Doubled!
Chat is scrolling wildly. It's so active that even my computer—top-of-the-line by current human standards—is starting to lag.
I pat the head of my adorable daughter, who hasn't even noticed the little mishap she caused. Sigh... She's so cute, I'll let it slide.
"We've spent a bit of time on introductions. Now, let me tell you about today's content."
I ignore the viewers' comments as best I can and pull out what I've prepared.
"What we're doing with my daughter today is this."
Unfortunately, I didn't prepare any new content. I haven't fully grasped human society yet, and if I did something I'm good at... I might cause another incident like my daughter just did. A giant's casual gesture can become a massive storm for tiny humans.
That's why I always worry if my actions might turn into a storm for them, and I haven't come up with suitable new content yet.
No new content? Fine, just do the usual.
"Yesterday we tried chicken, so today we're trying something called pizza."
And honestly... food from my home dimension is delicious. I love this mukbang thing.
"Oh? Is this food from this dimension's humans?"
"Yes. It's called pizza."
I slide the pizza in front of my daughter, who stares at the box curiously. Then I adjust the camera angle and slowly open the box.
"First up is cheese pizza."
What emerged was a round food covered entirely in white cheese, no toppings. Divided into 10 slices, with a pizza cutter placed in the center—captured perfectly by both my daughter and the camera.
"Oh! White food!"
The viewers start buzzing. ...Was eating bones really that weird?
'Don't most carnivores in this dimension eat bones? Even humans do—pork bone bits or fish bones...'
As I'm coming up with lame excuses for myself, my daughter leans in close to the pizza, sniffs it, and licks the cheese on top.
Lick!
"...I see. This is made from an animal's milk, right?"
"That's part of it."
Cooking is a skill born from human desires. Better taste. Sweeter flavors. More... more... Human cravings for diverse flavors created it, a concept utterly foreign to a dragon with biased tastes.
If I didn't have memories of my past human life, I'd find it fascinating too.
"Let's try it."
*Snap!*
I remove the pizza cutter and hand a slice to my daughter. It'd be hot for a normal human, but we're avatars of mighty elder dragons here. Unfazed, she examines the slice in her hand, then sniffs it again.
Sniff sniff...
"Dragons do have the concept of cooking, but since we don't really need it, it's not well-known."
For a dragon's true body, it varies by evolution, but... dragons generally have dull taste buds. With bodies tough enough to ignore most poisons, poor taste means we eat slightly spoiled food just fine and digest it easily.
"That's why dragons have no real reason to cook. Nothing tastes much anyway."
"But elder dragons like us are a bit different."
Elder dragons can use dominance to create avatars from the elements they rule. Linking senses to the avatar lets us feel everything it does. So my daughter and I, in these human-like avatars, have taste buds like humans.
"That's why mukbang works."
While I'm chatting with viewers, my daughter seems satisfied and cautiously bites the tip of the pizza.
Nom! Chew chew...
"...Oh my."
Her eyes go wide. Yeah... it'll be a groundbreaking sensation for her.
Excluding my eldest son, the others don't like humans much. Not as extreme as my second son who wants to kill them on sight, but they don't think fondly of them either. So aside from big bro, they rarely use avatars. Meaning they've hardly experienced human-like taste.
Plus, Earth's food in my home dimension is pretty advanced. Spices galore, even MSG in everyday dishes. A kid who's barely tasted like humans suddenly hits MSG stimulation...
Nom nom!
"Amazing, Mother! This sensation is all new to me!"
My daughter starts devouring the cheese pizza. Totally immersed in the intense flavors from the avatar.
"Eat slowly."
I pat her head. Geez, eating with crumbs everywhere... I wipe the food bits off her avatar's chest, then grab my slice and take a bite.
"?!"
My goodness... No wonder she's losing it. My eyes widen at the explosion of pizza flavor in my mouth.
Yesterday's chicken wasn't bad. But strip away the packaging, and it's just cooked chicken. The appeal is the frying method and unique texture elevating the meat. Pure taste alone? Nothing special.
Pizza's different. The dough base, plant fruit juice spread, fermented animal milk cheese, dried leaf powder aroma—all harmonizing, dancing on my tongue.
"Mmm! Delicious!"
Now I get it. Dragons vary by taste, but most would prefer pizza over chicken.
"Yes. Dragons would prefer pizza over chicken, I think."
Viewers with weird chicken pride start spamming. Wait... I said chicken's good too? Not that it's bad...
"Mother. What's this chicken food?"
"A dish where bird meat is fried in hot oil."
"So... just meat in the end?"
"Well... yeah."
That's when we're peacefully munching pizza with my daughter.
Knock knock!
"Hm?"
"=Master. I have an item to deliver."
Do Hwa's voice comes from outside the broadcast room. What? My true body is out there, so usual reports go to it?
Squish squish!
My dominance stirs, and the adamantium wall forming the broadcast room opens. A six-tailed fox beastkin with golden fur enters gracefully.
"What is it, Do Hwa?"
"My apologies for interrupting, Master. You forgot something, so I hurried here."
Do Hwa kneels gracefully and offers a pedestal wrapped in mithril-thread cloth with both hands.
Reminds me... In a dimension like those 'wuxia fantasy' worlds humans love, this is how they present to kings.
And on the pedestal...
...Cola. Wasn't expecting much, but now I'm wondering if I need to adjust my servants' attitudes.
