Prologue: How I Became a Doll
I am the strongest.
S-Class, the pinnacle of the world's ranks. And among those S-classes, the undisputed number one.
The greatest mage, the greatest hunter: Lee Eun-sung. That is who I am.
"Which is why... I even managed to slay a dragon."
Looming before me was the corpse of a dragon as massive as a high-rise building.
Its once ruby-bright red scales were charred completely black, and its wings and torso were torn to shreds. Not a single part of the giant lizard's body remained intact.
In the end, no matter how much they hyped up dragons, it was just a lizard after all.
"Cough..."
Still, I made a mistake.
I poured every last drop of my mana into that final attack, leaving absolutely nothing for emergency healing.
If I had held back... I probably wouldn't have been able to kill it.
But at least I would have died a little slower.
"I win, you lizard bastard."
My transcendent-grade staff, capable of storing a hundred spells;
My transcendent-grade robe, which could deploy seven layers of barriers at once;
My transcendent-grade ring, which boosted magic efficiency tenfold;
And even the necklace that multiplied another mage's mana capacity by ten—though its effects were always a bit lacking for someone of my caliber—
Every single one of them had been shattered to pieces in my battle against the Fire Dragon.
But hey, I won, didn't I?
"This is enough."
Sigh. I didn't even have the strength to move my body anymore.
The crackling of the surrounding flames was starting to fade into silence.
Tucked inside my pocket was a single card.
It was my Organ Donation Card, to be used upon my death.
They said a hunter's organs were not only invaluable research material, but also had a far higher compatibility rate when transplanted into non-awakened humans.
Even now, a way to save at least one more life remained within my grasp.
Being buried whole and pristine has its appeal, but...
A single tombstone is more than enough for me.
With that thought, I used my blood-stained finger to fill in the checkbox that read: I consent to donate all organs.
Donor Name: Lee Eun-sung
Hunter Rank: S-Class
"Upon my death, I hereby consent to donate my organs for transplantation and research."
I pressed down hard, leaving a clear, bloody fingerprint, hoping they wouldn't reject it just because it wasn't signed in ink.
"Ah..."
My vision was fading to black.
Is this... death?
My consciousness slipped away.
"...?"
I was definitely dead, wasn't I?
As my eyes locked with a gloomy-looking kid standing right in front of me, I began to wonder if this was the afterlife.
