Chapter 61 — Whose Side Are You On? (1)
Chapter 61 — Whose Side Are You On? (1)
Grünent collapsed on top of Lisa. Lisa, her face buried in Grünent's chest, could barely manage ragged gasps.
The hole Grünent had left, after Roan slipped out of her, gaped open as if vomiting out the fluid that had filled her womb, trickling out in a slow, wet stream.
The white semen that flowed down soaked Lisa's pubic hair, seeping through the gap between her legs.
As Roan, steadying his rough breathing, admired the two fallen women's naked bodies, a message he had never even considered appeared before his eyes.
[Message: Unofficial Quest 'A Mutual Biting Relationship' complete! Congratulations!]
[Message: A s☆pecial gift that will aid your survival is now pr☆esented]
...What's with that star, out of nowhere....
After a cheerful bell chime rang out, the message that appeared was talking about something called an 'Unofficial Quest.'
'Were there hidden quests in the game?'
Even when he searched his memory, nothing in particular came to mind.
The freedom in Legend of the Holy Hero was limited to training elements related to the Hero, combat, or choosing non-romanceable NPCs you could have sex with. The main objective was, after all, collecting and enjoying erotic scenes.
When you met a female character, dialogue was fixed according to affection levels, and the resulting H-Scene was also determined by which dialogue option you chose.
If there had been hidden quests like this, or H-Scenes only I could see, the veteran experts would have swarmed in and thoroughly dissected the game long before I could do anything about it.
But I had never heard anything like that.
'It really is different from the game....'
Roan narrowed his eyes.
Until now, he had simply thought of it as being inside the game, or entering the world that served as the game's setting, where only he could see the game menu.
But he had learned that no less than a 'Goddess' was connected to how he had ended up here.
If all these messages appearing now, and the rewards they granted, were not the product of chance but something with a purpose—then what?
The look in Roan's eyes grew fearsome.
[Unofficial Quest Reward — 2 Skill Points]
[Message: Find other unofficial quests and prepare for ■■!]
Roan's eyes, upon checking the quest reward, widened for an instant before sharpening further.
Up until now, quest rewards had only yielded ambiguous magic—now revealed to be Ancient Divine Magic—but for the first time, something useful had appeared.
Skill Points. Even two of them!
He could now level up two skills.
Skill Points were something you could only obtain in the extreme late game. One of the sources, after all, had been that Artifact book in the Demon King's Castle Library.
And a quest was giving him two whole points?
'There was nothing like this in the game.'
A quest that couldn't even exist in the game—
why was it 'generated' exclusively in this world?
The word concealed by '■■' nagged at him.
It seemed the things he needed to prepare for, just like in that first tutorial message, weren't limited to the Hero alone.
His head now complicated, Roan roughly tousled his hair and let out a light sigh.
There was a pleasing sight right in front of him; no need to agonize over it here.
If he gave his all to defeat the Hero and lived on as a good person, that would be enough. Looking at it more objectively, who could ever avoid death? Besides, I'm already living on a borrowed life.
'Though I'm not sure the phrases "defeat the Hero" and "become a good person" can exist side by side.'
Roan smiled bitterly and stared absently at Grünent's back as she lay there panting, catching her breath.
In time with the rise and fall of her body, the lower gap that had opened gaped again as if wanting more. The loads of white fluid Roan had packed into her were, because of that, gurgling back out and leaking.
Even the pink hole above it—her anus, never once used—was fluttering. It was a sign that Grünent had not yet fully collected herself from the excitement.
'Hm, unofficial quest, so they say.'
The mutual biting relationship must ultimately mean a threesome. A relationship of what biting what, exactly?
The quest name felt needlessly explicit.
If something like a threesome—something that didn't appear in the game—counted as an unofficial quest....
Perhaps performing sex positions or play with the romanceable characters that they never showed in the game would trigger unofficial quests.
For instance, anal play with Grünent?
Without realizing it, Roan gently pressed a finger against that hole. He felt a hot heat radiating from inside and a sticky sensation from her arousal fluids.
"Your Maj..., h-hiik...."
Grünent, shakily lifting herself and looking back at Roan, flinched and trembled at the unfamiliar sensation.
As Roan softly moistened and rubbed her anus with her fluids, Grünent barely managed to open her mouth.
"Th-there is, h-hng, n-no...."
Roan, gazing at a tearful Grünent shaking her head as if she found her adorable, finally laughed.
I'd have to eagerly try this and that. Hadn't I just received highly valuable Skill Points? Since I don't know what else might come out, let's diligently enjoy ourselves.
Things like toys, or outfits. Hmm.
Roan, his mind full of pleasant imaginings, smiled a sensual smile and murmured.
"Mm. But not, right now...."
"H-haah...?"
Grünent, who had looked at Roan with tear-streaked cheeks, swallowed her breath. Roan's member was rising once more. Lisa, who had belatedly stumbled to her feet, also looked at Roan with pleading, wavering eyes.
Roan let out a somewhat sheepish laugh.
In the end, the next day.
Grünent and Lisa lay flat and failed to leave the emperor's bedchamber.
"...We may... need sex slaves again...."
At Grünent's grave muttering, spoken after days of recuperation, Rauka practically jumped.
"Are you insane?!"
"That way... I think I might survive...."
"What?"
Rauka furrowed her brow.
"Since Rauka ran away and all."
At that display, Lisa, who had been cleaning Grünent's room, grumbled under her breath. At Grünent's request, Lisa had officially taken on the role of Grünent's maid. It was a decision made after concluding that she needed to work with Lisa to prepare for Roan's state.
"Have you gone insane too? What on earth did the Demon King do to you two...!"
Rauka stopped mid-sentence, her face turning bright red. Seeing this, Grünent deliberately adopted a grave expression.
"You know what he did, so why is your face turning red all by itself? While you're busy imagining it to your heart's content."
"Wh-wh-what...!"
Hit on the mark, Rauka let out a metallic shriek.
"I-it's not like that! N-no matter what, I-I, into someone else's bedchamber, I'm n-not a sex slave!"
"But you promised."
"Yo-you and Grünent made that promise!"
"But you asked if you could join in too."
"I-I don't remember!"
"Then how do you know what I promised with Lisa?"
"Uh...."
At Grünent's sharp retort, Rauka let out a single groan as if struck speechless.
"They say forest elves don't lie."
"Ugh...."
When Lisa added her piece, Rauka, her face burning red, was unable to say a word.
*
It was astonishing.
His body felt so light.
[Is that enough to make you hum? Let's double your training later!]
"I feel like even that wouldn't be a problem."
[...Tch. Is sex that important?]
"It's important."
I hadn't known myself that it would make this much of a difference.
Perhaps handling two at once had made his body even more at ease.
After tormenting both of them all night, Grünent and Lisa were bedridden, leading to another three days of Abstinence Mode.
'If I quickly raise the affection of other characters, maybe their burden will lessen a bit.'
Erenier's affection is high, but unfortunately, she isn't by my side. If I diligently raise Rauka's, Diobe's, or Helen's affection, would it get better?
I was almost forced to understand why that Demon King bastard kept separate sex slaves. My impression of that trash somewhat improved, moving from "piece of trash" to "reckless bastard."
[Come to think of it, didn't you find Roan?]
"Mm.... He disappeared."
Naore truly had no clues about the Demon King. A relative of the previous generation, someone granted a provincial lordship—he was a nephew-like relation.
In modern terms, he was someone you wouldn't even see the face of at a wedding.
The Demon King had clearly said "don't look for him," but since I couldn't do that, I investigated Naore. Yet he had turned out to be the type of person a little quieter and more focused on work than the Demon King I had met.
"I turned his whole clan upside down, but they say after they migrated from their home province to Basel, he lived alone. There were no particular traces either."
[Where on earth did he go, and what is he doing....]
Naore had absolutely no memory of where he'd gotten the collected bead ornaments. Even when I mobilized truth-detection magic.
In the end, there were no clues.
"Won't he be the type to manage well wherever he goes? Though it bothers me, since he saved my life."
[...The fact that he saved a life instead of taking one sounds exactly like an omen of the world's end. It's creepy.]
"I'm in a rare good mood, so don't do that, Fiora."
[Why. Did you smack some lords around or something?]
Fiora asked, quick-witted as always.
Roan smirked and took out a Magic Tool.
"Yeah."
It was a Magic Tool set, the first thing made by the research team from the defense contractor after Roan had berated them.
Of the pair of Magic Tools that had been created, the one Roan possessed was the larger piece.
So to speak, it was the Receiver/Player.
Focusing mana into the jewel protruding at the bottom—just as he had been told—.
The images received and stored from the Transmitter shot out into the empty air via the Magic Orb.
A function akin to a projector.
Roan leaned deep into his office chair.
With the curtains lowered, the darkened wall of his office began to display the images the Magic Orb projected.
A massive barracks and the people gathered inside were visible in the footage. Oddly, both sides of his field of view were darkened in black, which was disconcerting.
At a small round table in the center, four people sat in ornate chairs, facing the entrance. As if waiting for something.
The people surrounding them filled the huge barracks to capacity. Dozens, nearly a hundred individuals, it seemed. They sat on simple chairs, each exchanging opinions.
— A bird?
A single Magic Bird waddled into the barracks. The bird walked straight toward the screen.
The one sitting right in front of the Transmitter held a seal up to the Magic Bird, then took an item from the bundle and placed it on the round table.
It was a Magic Orb identical in appearance to the Magic Tool Roan was now using.
Amidst the murmuring crowd, the Magic Orb was played. What appeared within it was.
— I'll keep this brief.
Roan himself.
Roan in the footage was leaning back in that very office chair Roan now sat in, delivering a message to the lords in the exact same posture, one arm propped up.
— I assume you have all been fully briefed on the military law.
At the sight of the emperor they hadn't seen in a long while, the barracks fell as silent as if doused with ice water.
The lords had been unable to get a handle on the various new systems recently decreed.
What was the purpose? Had His Majesty truly changed? Had the Small Council's influence grown that much? Why must we follow them?
It was a matter on which even the great lords were divided.
Thus, for the petty lords walking a tightrope between the great lords and the central nobles, including the Small Council, each day was a bed of nails.
A single choice of theirs could decide the fate of their clan and territory.
They had to be prudent.
And as if to put an end to their wandering, Roan in the footage spoke with decisive firmness.
— The war will not be prolonged any further.
At the emperor's words, an eerie silence descended.
The lords, finding it hard to immediately accept what had just been said, all fell into thought, lost for words.
— Concentrate your offensive in winter and force a truce. If the attack is sufficient to end the war, so much the better.
Yet at the words that followed, their silence crossed a critical threshold and erupted into complaints.
— Winter is nearly upon us!
— What is His Majesty thinking....
— Are you commanding a general offensive?
— Was the mention of providing supplies made with this in mind...?
The footage moved slightly, capturing the lords' expressions and words. Some wore deep frowns; others stayed silent without a word.
However, as a loud thud resounded, the barracks became still once again.
The image turned toward the direction of the sound.
It was the noise of the Lord of the West Blood Territory, the Grand Duke of the Red Rampart, striking the ground with his massive long spear.
'A centaur....'
The reason his voice sounded similar to Minoreus was because of his large, half-human, half-beast frame.
And as if he had anticipated this commotion, Roan in the footage opened his mouth again after a brief silence.
— Do not doubt. Do not fall into confusion.
What you must do is clear.
The blazing, fiery-eyed Lord of the West Blood Territory,
The coldly subdued expression of the Lord of the East Yellow Territory,
The face of the Lord of the North White Territory, grinning with a distorted smile, came into view.
— Follow my command, and slay my enemies.
The Demon King's voice held power.
Though it was not channeled through a skill,
all the lords present in that place felt intimidated and captivated by the Demon King's voice, which they had not heard in so long.
— You are my limbs and my swords.
Where the tip of the blade points should be only toward the enemy.
As for my useless limbs that go against this....
Roan in the footage smiled languidly.
— I shall sever them myself.
