Choi Seo-ah’s True Identity (1)The love parents have for their children. Hmm… I wouldn’t really know. I’ve never had kids. Watching Manager Woo Mi-young raise the baby demon from T-16 once made me think, Is it really necessary to go that far? It seemed like a bit too much. But then again, there are parents like Director Choi Dong-jin, who barely show interest in their children at all.
His daughter committed murder and even became involved with drugs. Her very existence had changed now, yet Director Choi didn’t seem to notice anything. As I held Seo-ah close, I glanced over at the unconscious Director Choi. Did he actually love his daughter? If he had paid even a little attention, things probably wouldn’t have ended up like this.
Maybe tonight… he just wanted to brag about her to me.“Ah… that feels good… a little more…”The being pretending to be Choi Seo-ah continued acting the part perfectly. But what exactly was this thing? Still… the body itself was impressive. Top-tier hardware, no doubt about that. I had already lost track of how much time had passed.
Holding Seo-ah by the waist, I moved closer again. Her body was soft, covered with piercings that gave off a rebellious aura. It reminded me of junk food—something you knew wasn’t good for you but was strangely addictive. Doing this while her father slept nearby… the situation itself was absurdly provocative.“Oppa… this feels amazing…”“Try calling me ‘Dad.’”“D-Dad… please…”The situation was ridiculous.
Pretending to be her father while the real one slept beside us. The word father suddenly made me think of my own. Strange timing, but the thought came anyway. What had my father meant to me? He had spent his life as a demon hunter and rarely cared about my mother or me.…Just like Director Choi. And my mother?
She was almost never home, constantly traveling overseas. The reason I had been close with Nang-ryun when I was young was simple—her mother took better care of me than mine did. Of course, I grew up wealthy. I never lacked money or resources. Maybe my parents thought that alone was enough. But had I ever actually been loved?
Maybe that was why I chased women so much. People kept calling me a genius, so all I ever did was study. Come to think of it…How exactly did my mother die?“…Huh.”I shook the thought away. Moments like this reminded me why people sought pleasure in the first place. For humans, it wasn’t just about enjoyment.
It helped push away loneliness. Whether the partner was human, demon, god… or something else entirely. Seo-ah suddenly trembled. Her eyes widened as she tried to steady her breathing.“Ah…!”Yes… Seo-ah really was something else. Compared to the time she had been controlled by that retriever before, the difference in presence was obvious.“Ha… ha… that was amazing, oppa…”Her voice sounded strangely artificial.
For a moment, everything about the situation felt staged. Because this wasn’t the real Seo-ah anyway. Just some entity borrowing her body. So there was no reason to keep pretending.“You like it?” I asked quietly.“…What?”My tone had changed abruptly, and she looked startled. She tried to turn her head, but I pressed her down firmly to keep her still.
This was a posture I sometimes used when asserting authority as the White Mask Demon King. It made it clear who was in control.“Oppa… that hurts…”“You know what I hate?” I muttered.“Things watching me from the shadows. Gods, demon kings… whatever they are.”“Oppa…?”Her body stiffened.“This body called Choi Seo-ah,” I continued calmly, “has been used by Beelzebub, angels, and all kinds of other beings.”Almost like shared property.
Anyone could take a turn using it. The thought made me chuckle.“Don’t you find that suspicious?” I asked.“Why would someone modify their body this much?”She hesitated.“So I started wondering,” I continued.“Maybe the body called Choi Seo-ah… across every hell dimension… is a special type.”“One that’s extremely easy to possess.”Like clothes anyone could wear.
Her expression hardened.“Stop talking like that,” she said stiffly. “Just let me go.”“Answer me first,” I replied. “Are you on my side?”“…Let me go.”“I asked if you’re on my side.”“I’m not on anyone’s side,” she said. “I’m just Choi Seo-ah.”“…Drop the act.”She suddenly shouted toward the sleeping man nearby.“Dad! Dad!”I leaned close to her ear.“Quiet.”Once you were inside a human body, you lost most of your power.“If you’re pretending to be human,” I added, “at least learn basic human details.”Her breathing became uneven.“And one more thing,” I whispered.“Don’t even think about abandoning this body and escaping.”She froze.“If the body dies,” I said calmly, “the soul trapped inside dies with it.”Her face turned pale.
Fear finally appeared in her eyes. After a long moment, she slowly nodded. Begging silently. I had two choices. Hear what she wanted…or eliminate the unknown variable entirely. But killing her would also mean killing Director Choi. Before I made a decision—her body suddenly trembled again.“…Unbelievable,” I muttered.
Soon after, she collapsed weakly. Then she started licking my hand absent-mindedly.“So,” I said, “you want me to spare you if you cooperate?”She nodded quickly.“Fine,” I replied. “I’ll spare you.”“But if you suddenly abandon this body and run—”She shook her head rapidly. Once I removed my hand from her mouth, she gasped.“That was cruel,” she complained with a pout.“We’re supposed to be on the same side.”“You pretended not to know earlier.”“Well, you’re being awfully rough with a young lady.”“What are you really?” I asked.“An angel?”“No,” she replied. “Just someone here to assist you, young master.”“Young master?” I frowned. “That’s straight out of a fantasy novel.”She shrank slightly.“I’m sorry… but I can’t reveal my identity yet.”“If you keep acting mysterious,” I said, “things will get unpleasant.”“If I tell you,” she replied quietly, “I won’t just die. I’ll be erased completely.”That reminded me of the angel who had vanished earlier while trying to give information.“The only thing I can say,” she continued, “is that this body belongs to Choi Seo-ah from T-28.”T-28.
The hell dimension ruled by Asmodeus.“You work for Asmodeus?”“No. In fact, she’s currently allied with Baal. Which makes her someone you should be careful about.”That was new information.“The body called Choi Seo-ah,” she went on, “is what we call a Perfect Takeover Type.”“A PTT.”“A body that’s extremely easy for other souls to possess.”She paused before adding,“Someone like Seo-ah, whose soul actually wants to leave the body, is extremely rare.”Maybe her life had been worse than hell itself.“I’m a messenger from another hell,” she said.“I can’t reveal my master’s name.”“But right now, Baal is conquering T-31, forcing other demon kings into submission and building alliances through power.”She shifted slightly before sighing.“…But could you maybe stop now?” she said awkwardly.“It’s hard to concentrate while talking like this.”“Then stop clinging to me,” I replied.
She smiled suddenly.“How about this?”“One more hour… and then we talk properly.”Her eyes curved into crescents.“I’ll show you heaven.”
