Eden 4: Tearing Through Gangnam's Night Sky
A black pillar surged toward the penthouse ceiling of Eden 4 with enough force to rip apart Gangnam's night sky. It was an ancient weapon summoned by the Elder of Abundance, who had embedded the Demon King's Horn into his own heart. A pathway channeling mana into the Abyss Giant Soldier.
"Kahahaha! Too late! The coordinates are locked, and the mana pathway is open!"
The elder's voice was grotesquely distorted as he burned his own life force to accelerate the summoning ritual. Amid the black mist, the massive form of bone and steel began to emerge. If completed, it would obliterate half of Seoul—a cataclysmic disaster.
Even before this hopeless sight, Adel and I didn't back down.
"Lee Han! I'm going in!"
"Ladies first!"
Under my cover fire, the mad scientist kicked off the ground. Instead of chanting spells from the rear like a proper mage, she charged headlong into the eye of the black storm, wielding her staff like a club as if she were a magic swordsman.
"You lunatic! Like a moth diving into flames!"
The elder sneered and swung his hand. Black thorn vines wrapping the giant soldier lashed out like whips toward Adel.
Yet her eyes showed no intent to dodge—only the manic certainty of a zealot.
"Who're you calling a moth? I'm a mosquito here to suck you dry, you bastard!"
Adel hurled the [Incomplete Golem Core] clutched in her hand.
"Circuit hijack! Mana drain!"
MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE!
—Ziiiiing!
The metal sphere floating in midair spun ferociously, spewing violet flashes. Like a street promotion, the light hijacked the summoning ritual's mana circuits themselves.
"Th-that bitch?!"
The elder's eyes rolled back like a shopkeeper losing customers at the door.
The black mana meant for the giant soldier veered off course, sucked straight into Adel's core.
"You... thieves!!"
The elder spat blood and screamed.
"Stop her! Cut off the mana before that wench steals it all!"
Reacting to the elder's will, the giant soldier's unfinished arm stirred. Black mana formed a wall to isolate Adel's core. At the same time, hundreds of complex rune-like defenses assaulted the equations she'd deployed.
A computational load that would fry any ordinary mage's brain.
"Ha! You think this outdated security can stop me?"
Her opponent was none other than Adel von Kraiber, the empire's youngest grand mage-to-be.
Adel's fingers rearranged the formulas.
"Substitute variable X with imaginary numbers! Invert mana phase! Bypass the firewall!"
Holographic equations danced before her eyes at insane speeds. The mana wall the elder desperately tried to erect shattered into pieces at her gesture, transforming instead into a conduit that accelerated the suction.
Summoning ritual coordinates splitting in two!
[Mana supply divided 50:50.]
"Nooo!! Stop—"
The elder's scream was buried.
—Kuuuooooh!
A deafening roar split the sky as the massive mana clump cleaved in half. One to its original master, the giant soldier. The other to Adel's golem core.
—Thud!
Two colossal forms crashed through the dust cloud. One was the intended [Abyss Giant Soldier]—mana-starved, its left half a hulking mass of bone and muscle, the right a hazy void of smoke. A grotesque half-body.
—Greeeeee!
The half-giant soldier groaned as if lamenting its missing parts.
Opposite it.
—Kuuung!
Another titan landed with a heavy metallic boom. Adel's golem.
Forged from ultra-pure mana extracted from the Demon King's Horn, combined with Adel's genius alchemy despite the rush job—it had reassembled nearby steel structures at the nanoscale. Sleek silver plating gleamed. Violet neon pulsed from every joint. Massive booster packs on its back and elbows.
Less a fantasy golem, more a mech straight out of a sci-fi blockbuster—refined, overwhelming.
"Whoa... insane."
Adel's jaw dropped.
"I made it, but... isn't it too perfect? Look at that shine. Those curves! Flawless!"
I nodded, arms crossed.
"Design passes. Now for performance."

Not edited. Happening right in front of me. Penthouse half-collapsed, two robots standing next to it. One's like a half-skeleton monster, the other's a badass silver bot. Design is nuts. Percival Rim-level. They're staring each other down, atmosphere is straight murder.

Gangnam vanished? Building-sized bone monster and shiny silver robot throwing down, no sign of you clowns? Sirens blaring, cops show up, but Estel Knights? Ghosted. Always yapping "citizen safety first," but real disaster hits and you ghost? Or is it not your turf? Where's my holy tithe money ffs?
Seoul outskirts. Abandoned factory basement—figure storage vault.
—Kukukukung!
The mana shockwave from Gangnam rippled here. The factory shook like an earthquake, dust raining from the ceiling.
"Aaaah! Quake!"
"Why just us?!"
Goons panicked wildly.
"Block it!! With your bodies!"
Deputy Dokki bellowed, veins bulging.
Vibrations threatened Adel's precious figures on the shelves. Especially the top-shelf limited-edition Desolatus teetering dangerously.
"Boss! No way! Too shaky!"
"Grab the floor and hold it steady no matter what!"
Dokki hoisted and hugged the shelf. Beneath him, ex-Black Moon 1st Branch elites formed a human scaffold, propping him up.
"Kim Sil-jang! Hold! If we shake, the shelf doesn't!"
Like staying upright on a rocking ship—yield to the flow, don't fixate.
"Got it! Ngh... m-my back!"
"Everyone hold!"
Kim Sil-jang maintained the human shelf formation, oblivious to his slipping glasses. Their tearful loyalty shone through the terror.
—Kwoong!
Another massive quake. Cracks spidered the walls, pipes burst spewing steam.
"Grit your teeth!! Till Sister Adel returns! This sanctuary is ours to guard!"
"Waaaah!!"
For these villains, figure safety trumped world peace—a desperate defense.
"Die!!!"
The elder, half-swallowed by the giant soldier, screamed. Its half-arm whipped out like a lash, smashing into Supreme Hunter.
—Craaaang!
A heavy impact. Supreme Hunter raised its arm to block, sparks flying off the silver plating.
"Tough resistance."
Adel, in combat goggles, hammered the floating controls.
"Counter! Jet Elbow!"
The elbow booster ignited. Mana whirred, building energy.
—Psssh!
Steam jetted as the punch rocketed forward.
Jet Elbow
Accelerated steel fist pulverized the giant soldier's bony ribcage.
—Kwachak! Crack!
Bone-shattering thunder echoed across Gangnam's sky.
—Greeeek!
The giant soldier staggered back. The building it leaned on screamed as its steel frame buckled.
"Krooooh!"
Black breath spewed from its mouth-like hole—a wave of corrosive mana.
"Dodge! That'll melt you!"
At my shout, Adel input an emergency evade. Its bulk couldn't fully escape—shoulder plating blackened and melted.
"My paint job! I slaved over that glossy curve!"
Adel raged.
"Lee Han! What're you doing? Just watching?!"
"Timing it."
I perched on the railing, surveying the battlefield. Two titans clashing. Mana collisions warping space—a calamity-level brawl.
'Push it harder, and my plan falls into place.'
The giant soldier endlessly absorbed ambient mana, regenerating. Shattered bones knit, black smoke coalescing into flesh.
"No end... feels like that mana tunnel paradox again. Hey, wanna try that trick from before?"
"Call it when you see the vessel size."
Adel looked up, then higher.
"It's huge."
I glanced at her.
"Opponent's about to cast spatial transfer. We follow right after."
"Got it. When?"
The power from slaying Desolatus. Dragon Slayer title. One strike.
"Now."
I leaped toward the giant soldier.
