Hello everyone! This is Kim Geun-hyeop!
And with this, The Black-Haired Foreigner in Murim has officially come to an end!!!
This makes it my fourth completed series!!!
I want to shout with thunderous excitement and break into uncontrollable applause, but sadly I can’t do that here!!!
Personally, this was a series that left me with a lot of regrets.
I had so many ideas and plans prepared, yet I feel painfully aware that I couldn’t fully show them all!!!

What is Aunt’s true identity?!
What exactly is the secret behind his previous life?!
The heroes of Journey to the West become Great Yokai and run rampant, while Saseon-nyeo smiles in the shadows!
As the Heavenly Demon Koke Temur revives and the Bull Demon King rises in rebellion, what fate awaits the Central Plains?!
And many more!!!
The original concept itself was the Murim version of Black-Haired Foreigner that I always wanted to write, but combining it properly with the martial arts genre turned out to be far more difficult than I expected!!
At some point, I realized something.
If it’s truly a Murim story, then the core should probably revolve around martial artists, sects, orthodox and unorthodox factions, demonic cults, and the conflicts and narratives born from them.
But since this series leaned more toward a fantasy-style Murim story, the yokai gradually became the main focus, and I ended up unable to pay enough attention to those traditional Murim elements!!!
A complete strategic failure in many ways!!!
Not Murim enough!!!
And even though this was supposed to be the Murim version of Black-Haired Foreigner, I couldn’t simply repeat what Katte had already done, so I tried all sorts of different approaches.
Ironically, though, it feels like I ended up leaving out the parts that felt the most like true Murim!!!
What a shame!!!
Such regret!!!
Frustration!!!
Sorrow!!!
Heartache!!!
This is truly a series that leaves me with endless regret!!!!
Still, it was an incredibly valuable learning experience, and I gained a lot from writing it!!!!
Anyway, with this, The Black-Haired Foreigner in Murim is officially finished!
I’m sure Geun-hyeop will continue living his life just fine from here on out!!
I plan to write a few more side stories before wrapping everything up completely.
As for my next work, I’ll spend a little more time preparing before I return!
I already have several ideas in mind, but choosing just one is proving difficult.
Whatever it ends up being, I’ll come back with something even more entertaining next time!!!
