Last Will
Evil is evil because it is evil. Wickedness is sin in and of itself, and it is harm as well. If that is true, then is goodness simply a benefit? The realization that it was not came far too late for me.
In this world where wickedness is regarded as sin yet goodness is not regarded as justice, I—who had pursued the path of good—ultimately became nothing more than a crude, pathetic harm. With even the roots of my last tattered wings ripped away, I beat them with what meager strength I had left and screamed in despair.
But it was a groan no one heard, a scream that went unanswered, and my final will. It was the last hand I stretched out from beneath the feet of those I trusted most, those who had shown me such favor—a dying bubble, because no one would grasp it.
